The females swallowed hard as they watched Wu Yue pull out one palm-sized piece of food after another from a large leaf.
After each person got a small flatbread, Wu Yue was finally ready to eat, feeling satisfied. But when she looked up, she was startled by their expressions. "Why are you all staring at instead of eating?"
’You all look like you’re about to attack , holding your flatbreads like that.’
Grandma Hua Shu chuckled. "How are we supposed to eat this, Yue? Do we just bite right in?"
Amused, Wu Yue replied, "You just eat it as is."
With that, she took the first bite. After chewing the fragrant morsel for a mont, she swallowed. A light, sweet flavor instantly filled her mouth, and she couldn’t help but close her eyes in enjoynt.
Seeing how much she was enjoying it, the other females raised their own flatbreads in unison and took a huge bite. The crisp, fragrant taste made their eyes light up instantly. As they chewed, a delicate sweetness filled their mouths, making them stare at the remaining flatbreads with ravenous eyes.
When Wu Yue had finished her flatbread, even licking her fingers clean, she looked up and was t with gazes from the females that were even more terrifying than before. She had the distinct feeling they were about to devour her on the spot.
Hugging herself weakly, Wu Yue gave a strained laugh. "Was it... not good?"
’Even as she asked, she refused to believe it. How could sothing as delicious as these little flatbreads not be a thousand tis better than wild vegetable balls?’
’Why are they looking at with such terrifying eyes? I’m getting scared!’
Grandma Hua Shu rubbed her face, which was contorted with excitent. A kind smile appeared on her still-fierce expression. "Yue, what are these little flatbreads made of? They’re not just filling, they’re delicious!"
Wu Yue grinned and pointed discreetly at the pale-yellow objects at their feet. "They’re made from those."
For a mont, the expression on Grandma Hua Shu’s face cracked. She stared in disbelief at the Sharp horned Beast Eggs at her feet, then looked back up at Wu Yue. "This stuff... is edible?"
Wu Yue nodded seriously. "It is. You soak it in water, press it into thin patties, and then bake them on a stone slab. That’s how you make the food you all just ate."
It was no secret in the tribe that Wu Yue had a knack for discovering new foods. And since she was a revered witch, everyone had great faith in her words.
The mont Grandma Hua Shu heard that the Sharp horned Beast Eggs were truly edible, it was as if a fire had been lit inside her. Waving her arms, she let out a whoop and urged the other females to start collecting.
Since their original goal for this outing was to gather ground fungus, the small baskets on their backs couldn’t hold very many Sharp horned Beast Eggs.
So, the group returned to a familiar task: so females gathered Sharp horned Beast Eggs, while others collected tree vines to weave bamboo bags.
anwhile, the females from the other Collection Teams saw Grandma Hua Shu’s group acting as if they’d taken so kind of witch dicine, excitedly gathering Sharp horned Beast Eggs, and were completely baffled.

Wu Yue, anwhile, took the flatbreads from another leaf packet and distributed them to the slaves.
Tasting such delicious food for the first ti, the slaves began to question everything they knew.

Chang Ye was the first to react. He stuffed the remaining half of his flatbread into his mouth and imdiately began organizing the other slaves to weave vine nets and start gathering.
By now, the other Collection Teams had heard from Grandma Hua Shu that the Sharp horned Beast Eggs could be made into delicious food.
To Wu Yue’s surprise, aside from Grandma Lu Shui, the first person to voice her support was the very female who had replaced Ye Duo, Amu as the new Collection Captain.
She had a simple, honest face and a kind deanor, but Wu Yue had just seen how strict she was with any female who slacked off during collection.

With that, she gave Wu Yue a deep bow.
Wu Yue, surprised, quickly stepped aside to avoid the bow. "You’re being too formal," she said, embarrassed. "I’m a mber of the Snow Tiger Tribe, too. It’s only natural that I’d do this."
Grandma Hua Shu sidled up and threw an arm around the new captain’s shoulders. "Yue," she said, looking at Wu Yue, "it’s all right to accept her thanks. You’re the one who saved her cub’s life, you know."
