Seeing their drooling expressions, Wu Yue handed the two cooked skewers of at directly to them. "Here, have a taste. My roasted at is the best in the whole tribe."
The two Beastn chuckled foolishly as they took the roasted at from her, imdiately taking a huge, impatient bite.
In no ti, the three of them had devoured the massive beast, leaving nothing but its skeleton.
Looking at the two gluttons beside her, Wu Yue couldn’t help but twitch her lips. ’What kind of tribe are these Beastn from? They eat so much.’
Completely unaware of Wu Yue’s internal complaints, the two Beastn rubbed their bellies, which felt ready to burst. They hiccuped constantly, a mixture of bliss and agony. The roasted at had been so delicious that they had, of course, eaten until they were stuffed.
Wu Yue, anwhile, cheerfully took so hay and a grass mat from her back basket, making herself a comfortable straw bed.
As if she’d just rembered sothing, she took a bamboo tube from her back basket and sprinkled a powdery substance at the entrance of the cave.
Seeing this, the two Beastn asked in confusion, "What is that?"
Wu Yue said proudly, "It’s a dicinal powder to keep insects and small critters from coming in. That way, we’ll be able to rest well."
Hearing this, the two Beastn let out a sigh. "A female is so much more thorough."
Lying down in her straw bed, Wu Yue looked at them and said, "If you get cold, you can get a Beast Skin from my back basket to cover up."
Then, she covered herself with her own small Beast Skin blanket and closed her eyes.
The two Beastn by the fire exchanged a glance and couldn’t help but sigh in relief. ’This little female is so easy to handle.’
’She doesn’t cry or make a fuss, and she can even make such delicious food. I want to take her back with us.’
’But when he rembered their witch’s orders, he imdiately shrank back. ’Better not.’’
One of the Beastn reached into his Beast Skin Skirt and pulled out a small insect. "The rain is so heavy. Do you think the other Beastn will be able to receive our ssage?"
His companion’s mouth twitched as he stared at the spot between the other’s legs. "You’ve been keeping that insect there this whole ti?"
Noticing his strange expression, the Beastman followed his companion’s gaze and grew awkward. "All we wear is a single Beast Skin Skirt. If I don’t keep it here, where else am I supposed to put it?"
The companion patted his shoulder with a look of mock admiration. "I finally understand why the witch values you. Your spirit of self-sacrifice is truly worthy of respect."
The Beastman replied, "I know you’re technically praising , but I have a feeling that’s not what you really an."
He glared at his companion and held out the insect. "You let it go."
His companion glanced at the insect with utter disgust. "You’ve had that thing in your loincloth for who knows how long. I think it’s best if I don’t touch it."
Now that he ntioned it, the Beastman suddenly felt a strange draft down there. He rembered how ferocious the insect usually was, and his heart skipped a beat.
’Where did I even get the courage to do that before?’
With a slightly trembling hand, he placed the insect on the ground. "Let’s just let it find its own way out."
The mont the insect touched the ground, it sprang into action, heading straight for the cave exit. But as it neared the entrance, it let out a painful shriek.
Startled, the two Beastn quickly glanced back at Wu Yue. They sighed in relief when they saw she was still sound asleep.
"Are you a Wild Boar Beast or sothing? The little female just sprinkled that powder at the entrance. The insect can’t get out."
Annoyed at being lectured by his companion, the Beastman stood up, picked up the insect’s limp body, and placed it outside the cave.
Sure enough, the insect’s tiny form vanished into the darkness.
A cold wind raged outside the cave, but inside, the burning fire made it incredibly warm. The two Beastn couldn’t help but feel drowsy.
"You take the first watch. I’m going to sleep for a bit, then I’ll relieve you."
Before the Beastman could even respond, his companion’s voice trailed off as he closed his eyes.
The Beastman grumbled and shook his fist but ultimately decided against doing anything.
But perhaps the fire was too warm, because his eyelids grew heavier and heavier. Finally, unable to fight the overwhelming drowsiness, his head tilted to the side. A mont later, the sound of soft snores filled the air.
And at that very mont, Wu Yue, who had seed to be sound asleep, threw off her Beast Skin and stood up.
She walked straight over to the two Beastn, a knowing smile playing on her lips.
Two small bamboo tubes suddenly appeared in her hands. She took out the bamboo slivers from within, dipped them in the liquid, and pricked both of the Beastman Warriors.
Afterward, she returned to her straw bed, sat down, and began to ditate.
’Tomorrow, there’s going to be a very interesting show.’
