Seeing the Clan Leader and Qingcao approach, she barely glanced up. "Shouldn’t you be packing? What are you doing here?"
The Clan Leader hurried over. "Witch, did you send any Beastman Warriors to help Wu Yue move her things just now?"
Seeing his grave expression, a terrible premonition suddenly struck the Snow Tiger Witch. She stood up and faced him. "The only guards I ever have with are a few Half beastman Warriors. Where would I get any Beastman Warriors to send?"
The hearts of the Clan Leader and Qingcao sank.
The Snow Tiger Witch looked at them. "What happened? Is Wu Yue in trouble?"
The Clan Leader had no choice but to tell the Witch what Qingcao had reported.
Upon hearing this, the Witch’s expression instantly darkened. She turned to Qingcao. "Are you sure they were Beastman Warriors from our tribe?"
Qingcao frowned. "I’ve never seen them before, but they said they had just transford. Most importantly, their hair color was the sa as our tribe’s Beastman Warriors."
The Witch and the Clan Leader frowned at her words. The females of the tribe couldn’t distinguish their own Beastman Warriors from outsiders by scent; hair color was their only marker.
But where on earth could these two Beastn, with the hair color of Snow Tiger Beastn, have co from?
The Witch turned to Qingcao. "Qingcao, you should go back for now. Don’t wander off."
Qingcao pressed her lips together at the command, but knowing she couldn’t do anything to help, she could only clench her fists and turn to leave.
"Witch, I’ll gather the tribe’s Beastn and start a search party right away."
The Snow Tiger Witch nodded. "Take half of the Beastman Warriors. That will be enough. The remaining Beastn and Half beastman Warriors will stay to protect the tribe.
According to Qingcao, it started raining not long after they left. With a downpour this heavy, they can’t have gotten far. They’re probably hiding sowhere to take shelter from the rain. You must search thoroughly."
The Clan Leader nodded. "I understand. Don’t worry."
With that, he turned and left. After gathering the tribe’s Beastman Warriors, he led them out of the main cave and into the rainy night.
anwhile, with Wu Yue, the two Beastn finally woke up around dawn.
One of the Beastn groggily opened his eyes, only to see his companion beside him still drooling, his face pale from the cold night.
Rembering how his partner had promised to wake him for his turn after a short nap, he was suddenly furious. He slapped his companion awake. "You’re sleeping like a dead Wild Boar Beast."
The slap to his head was hard enough to wake the dead. The other beastman yelped in pain as his eyes flew open.
"Who just hit ?"
The first Beastman sneered. ", of course. Who else did you think it was?"
After a cold snort, he turned to look in Wu Yue’s direction, only to see a circle of plump little creatures huddled around the fire they had lit the night before.
Seeing the rolls of fat on their bodies and rembering the roasted at from the day before, the Beastman’s mouth instantly began to water. He stood up, ready to grab one to roast and eat.
Just then, his companion exclaid in surprise, "Where did all these little beasts co from? Didn’t the little female sprinkle that powder at the cave entrance last night?"
The first Beastman shot him a look. "Maybe this powder doesn’t work on them. Stop wasting your breath and help catch one to roast. Otherwise, we’ll have to go hunting in the rain later."
His companion thought that made sense, so he imdiately stood up, ready to help the other beastman catch one of the creatures.
"What are you doing?"
The System had already notified Wu Yue the mont the two Beastn woke up.
Seeing their obvious ill intent toward the Salt Crystal Beasts, she could no longer remain silent.
Hearing the little female’s voice, the two Beastn imdiately looked over. "It must have been too cold last night, so all these little beasts ca into the cave. We’ll just catch and roast a few, and that should be enough food for today."
Wu Yue chuckled, stroking the smooth fur of the System in her arms. "These little beasts aren’t for you to eat."
