With Wu Yue’s guidance, the two of them then dug out the steps leading down and built up the surrounding mud walls to the sa height.
Finally, they started on the roof. The base of the A-fra structure was a sturdy frawork of logs. They then covered it with layers of large leaves, dry grass, and mud mixed with straw. The very top layer was a thick, woven straw thatch, secured in place with more logs.

Once the house was built, a cheerful Wu Yue gave her friends a tour of her new "little nest." Though she called it that, it was much larger and taller than Qinghua’s thatched hut—spacious and beautiful.
The stairwell leading down into the house was wide, keeping the interior from feeling dark. The mont Qinghua and Qingcao stepped inside, they fell in love with it.
Qingcao’s eyes sparkled. "Yue, your house is so much bigger than our caves!"
She did a little lap around the room. "I want to build a house like this too! Yue, you have to help ."
She grabbed Wu Yue’s arm and shook it excitedly as she spoke.
Getting a headache from the shaking, Wu Yue quickly nodded. "Okay, okay, I’ll help! I’ll help both you and Qinghua."
At that, Qinghua’s two mates put aside their disdain. Any dissatisfaction they’d felt vanished completely. Hearing that this young female was going to help them build such a beautiful ho, their eyes filled with gratitude.

Everyone learned that the new, frail-looking Pure Human female knew how to build a wondrous new kind of house. It didn’t exceed the regulated height, yet it was beautiful and spacious—so much so that even tall Beastman Warriors could stand up straight inside.
Now that she had her own little nest, Wu Yue gathered her belongings and moved in.
