Yuan Lang’s deep eyes glanced at her. "Stop gawking."
"He’s awake! He’s awake!"
Suddenly, the excited cheers of the Lion Tribe’s Beastn ca from the riverbank. Wu Yue and Yuan Lang stood up and walked toward the river.
The Beastn of the Snow Tiger Tribe were also watching curiously.
When Wu Yue arrived at the riverbank, the Beastn consciously made a path for her.
A Beastman from the Lion Tribe was overjoyed to see her approach. "Young female, thank you so much! Our tribesman has woken up."
Wu Yue smiled and nodded. "I’m just glad he’s okay."
As she spoke, she handed over the few remaining herbs in her hand. "A Beastman’s body is strong, but a Snake Beast’s venom is still very potent. Take these herbs back with you. Have him eat one a day, and he’ll recover faster."
After they accepted the herbs and said goodbye to the Lion Tribe’s Beastn, Wu Yue and the others returned to their tribe’s gathering area.
The other Collection Teams had already gathered in their designated spots to rest, but the mbers of Grandma Hua Shu’s team were still working with great enthusiasm.
And, though she couldn’t be sure if it was just her imagination, Wu Yue felt that the won on the team, who were being stared at by the other Collection Teams, were gathering even faster.
Grandma Hua Shu ca over to Wu Yue with a smug look on her face and a crafty grin. "Hehe, I just love it when they can’t stand but can’t beat either."
Wu Yue deadpanned. ’What kind of twisted pleasure is this...?’
The two of them wasted no more words and joined the others in their work.
Auntie Qingcao, however, secretly called her two children to her side. "Qingcao, Qinghua, co here. Your Amu has sothing to tell you."
After the mother and her two daughters finished whispering amongst themselves, Qingcao and Qinghua stealthily made their way toward Wu Yue.
"Yue, Grandma Hua Shu."
A familiar voice sounded beside her. Wu Yue turned her head and saw that it was, indeed, Qingcao and Qinghua.
She broke into a wide grin. "What are you two doing here?"
Qingcao chuckled and started helping Wu Yue gather, while Qinghua sidled up to Grandma Hua Shu. "Grandma, my Amu sent us to ask if your Collection Team could help us weave so bamboo bags. We can offer you compensation."
A cunning glint flashed in Hua Shu’s eyes, but she spoke with a troubled expression. "Child, it’s not that Grandma doesn’t want to help you. As you can see, we’re all busy gathering. We really don’t have the ti."
Qinghua said in a low voice, "Amu said that if you help us weave the bamboo bags, we’ll give your Collection Team three whole bamboo bags of food."
Grandma Hua Shu’s eyes lit up at her words, but she feigned reluctance and held up five fingers. "We’ll weave six bamboo bags for you, and you’ll give us five bamboo bags of food."
Qinghua hesitated for a mont, then nodded with a determined look. "Alright. I’ll go tell my Amu right now."
Grandma Hua Shu nodded, grinning. "Go on, hurry back!"
Qinghua was very fast. Grandma Hua Shu had just finished giving a heads-up to the won around her when she saw Qinghua sneaking back over.
"Grandma, my Amu agrees."
Hearing this, Grandma Hua Shu’s eyes practically shone.
She called over the won she had just selected as the fastest weavers of bamboo bags, and they headed toward a place with vines.
"You wait here. We’ll bring them to you once they’re woven."
Qinghua nodded obediently, then crouched down and started to help with the gathering.
The other Collection Teams watched Grandma Hua Shu leave with great confusion. A few of the won even tried to follow, but they were blocked by a woman from Grandma Hua Shu’s Collection Team who was on patrol, all of which looked very mysterious.
