Yan Cijin took out a rubber glove and helped Bai Li put it on her left hand carefully. Then Bai Li switched the kukri to her left hand and held out her right hand too. Yan Cijin put the right glove on her right hand just as carefully. Zhang Fan watched everything between the two of them, and the anger in his eyes burned hotter. Why was their hospital’s aloof beauty being so nice to Bai Li? Why was she taking care of her like that, as if Bai Li was the one who mattered most? Bai Li gripped the Tang sword in her right hand again, used her left hand to turn the doorknob, and quickly rushed out into the corridor. The two zombies there naturally sensed a living person the mont she ca out, and both of them charged toward her at once. Bai Li jumped up and kicked the first zombie that rushed at her, sending it sprawling to the floor. At that sa mont, another zombie wearing a hospital gown ca charging in from the side. Bai Li did not let it recover. She followed up imdiately with a second strike to the neck of the zombie in the hospital gown, and that one slamd down onto the ground too. Bai Li turned around, and the zombie she had kicked earlier was only just getting back up. She gripped her knife and charged straight at it. Another kick sent the zombie over again, and then she stepped on its chest and held it down. After that, she tightened her grip on the Tang sword and slashed twice at its neck. This ti the zombie finally stopped moving. Bai Li lifted her foot away from it, not giving the body another look. She did not dare waste ti, so she quickly motioned for Yan Cijin to follow her. Yan Cijin ran to Bai Li’s side right away. Bai Li lowered her voice and asked, "Where’s the fire escape? Let’s go down the stairs." She knew Yan Cijin knew the hospital layout much better than she did, so there was no point pretending otherwise. Yan Cijin thought for a mont and said, "Go through this ward, turn left, and then go through another door to the fire escape." Bai Li nodded. "Okay, we need to get out of here as soon as possible. Lead the way." "Okay," Yan Cijin answered, then quickly led the way. The two of them walked along the corridor and turned left at the end, but things did not stay smooth for long. Zombies were still roaming through the corridor too. Taking advantage of how slowly the zombies reacted, Bai Li swung her Tang sword and charged forward. Her sword strikes were unbelievably fast. The female zombie was just about to attack when Bai Li withdrew her sword and kicked it to the ground in one smooth motion. Then another male zombie ca at her with its mouth open wide. Its skull had already been damaged by sothing, and the flesh inside had turned a blackish purple color. The sll coming off it was so strong and rotten that it made the air feel sick. Bai Li’s Tang sword moved like lightning. In almost no ti at all, it pressed against the zombie’s neck, and with one powerful slash, dark purple blood sprayed everywhere. So of it even splashed across Bai Li’s body, and the white walls of the hospital corridor were stained with the awful sll. After sheathing the sword, Bai Li kicked out again, turned quickly, and drove the Tang sword into the neck of the female zombie that had just risen. With another powerful slash, that one fell hard to the ground. At that mont, the male zombie, whose neck had been cut almost in half, still managed to stand back up. But instead of charging at Bai Li again, it suddenly lunged toward Yan Cijin behind her. Yan Cijin was already on high alert. She gripped her kukri tightly and waited for the zombie to co closer so she could strike. But the zombie never got the chance. Bai Li grabbed the male zombie from behind with one hand and slamd it hard against the corridor wall. Then she planted her right leg firmly on its back and pinned it down so it could not move at all, no matter how much it struggled or how loudly it howled. The next second, the zombie’s head fell to the floor. Bai Li put her knife away with practiced speed and looked at Yan Cijin.
