Lin Qiushu sat on the hallway bench, legs together, her hands tightly covering her face as tears continuously flowed through her fingers.
More than two hours had passed.
How could this woman still have so many tears?
Yan Ye stepped forward, took a handkerchief from his pocket, and handed it to Lin Qiushu, “Stop crying, the patient was successfully resuscitated.”
Hearing that icy voice again, Lin Qiushu suddenly looked up.
Her beautiful eyes, cried out like swollen walnuts, were red and puffy.

After speaking, she grabbed Yan Ye’s handkerchief, vigorously wiped her tears, and tossed it back into his chest.
Then she hurried into the ward.
Yan Ye watched as his towel absorbed the tears and make-up, and couldn’t help but shake his head.
Lin Qiushu leaned over the hospital bed, softly calling the elderly woman, “Grandma…”
“Qiushu…” The elderly woman opened her eyes, struggling to utter a few words, “Why are you crying…”
It would have been better not to speak, as Lin Qiushu’s tears started falling like a burst pipe, “What has happened to you?
I barely left, and such a huge incident happens!”
She had returned to the store, hadn’t even caught her breath, when the clerk told her the old lady had co by herself and left alone.
She beca anxious.
So she hurriedly followed and, after stopping to hear people describing the situation at the intersection, she rushed to the hospital.
As she entered, she had hoped she was mistaken, but upon seeing that the person lying on the hospital bed was indeed her grandmother, she could no longer control her emotions and burst out crying.
“Okay, stop crying, I’m fine,” the old lady said weakly, raising her hand and firmly grasping Lin Qiushu’s.
“You must be fine.
We’ve had unfulfilled wishes for decades, and just as we are about to see so hope… how could you…” Lin Qiushu left her sentence unfinished.
“I know I’ve been holding on.
I absolutely won’t die before that day cos,” the old lady said, her gaze fixed firmly on Lin Qiushu.
“Yes!” Lin Qiushu nodded vigorously.
Lin Qiushu took care of the old lady until very late, and she didn’t leave.
The doctor told her they used thrombolytic drugs and asked her to closely monitor the elderly woman’s condition.
If the urine excretion changed color to include blood, or if there was a soy-sauce color in the vomit, she must inform the doctor imdiately.
So Lin Qiushu was vigilant and stayed by her side, until early in the morning the next day when Yan Ye ca for a ward round and imdiately saw Lin Qiushu, who had fallen asleep on the hospital bed.
He approached and gently nudged Lin Qiushu’s foot with his leg.
Lin Qiushu opened her sleepy eyes, gave Yan Ye a look, and asked discontentedly, “What’s up?”
“Is this how you take care of a patient?
You didn’t even notice you had been sleeping on her arm for how long?”
Reminded by Yan Ye, Lin Qiushu quickly sat up.
“It’s no bother, she’s been watching over all night and is very tired; let her sleep for a while,” the old lady quickly defended her granddaughter.
“Sleeping on your arm could impede blood circulation.
Be careful next ti,” Yan Ye simply advised.
Then he conducted a detailed examination of the elderly woman and found not only that her heart had issues but also other problems were present.
So he called other specialists for a consultation, and they recomnded that the elderly woman be hospitalized for observation and conservative treatnt for half a month.
