Chapter 1467: Chapter 1467: Sothing Feels Off
Hearing her mother-in-law’s voice was quite a surprise. As An Hao walked downstairs, she wondered who could be visiting.
When she descended with Little Chenyang in her arms, she was astonished to see Zhang Yun, and instantly, a smile spread across her face, “Sister-in-law, what brings you here? I’m so surprised.”
Zhang Lanxiang placed the gifts she had bought for the child on the table, then imdiately hugged Little Chenyang, “You little cutie, you’ve grown so chubby. That must be thanks to your mom, right?”
Little Chenyang stared with big eyes at Zhang Lanxiang, his little mouth breaking into a smile.
Zhang Lanxiang, looking at the child’s smile, felt a pang of sourness in her heart and her eyes reddened, almost letting tears fall, “This child has grown so well. Just look, his eyes and brows really resemble Qin Jian.”
“Really? You think so too?” Zhang Yun, cradling Chenguang, joined them with a beaming smile, “Qin Jian, when he was little, I never got to hold him in my arms. Now, holding these two children, it feels like holding Qin Jian as a child.”
“It must feel like bliss, doesn’t it?” Zhang Lanxiang asked through her tears.
“Yes, indeed. It’s bliss co ho,” Zhang Yun replied, bending down to kiss Chenguang’s forehead, “With these two precious grandsons, I am content. Life seems more invigorating than ever.”
“Yes. Indeed.” Unable to hold back her tears any longer, Zhang Lanxiang turned her head and stealthily wiped them away.
An Hao felt that Zhang Lanxiang was acting strangely today but couldn’t quite put her finger on what was amiss.
“Sister-in-law, is sothing the matter? You seem like you’ve been crying,” An Hao questioned.
Zhang Lanxiang hastened to shake her head, “No, no. Why would I cry? I couldn’t be happier with these two little ones. It’s just that my eyes feel a bit uncomfortable. Anyway, I ca to see you today because I want you to take to the affiliated hospital. A relative of mine has so heart issues. So, I wanted to consult with the cardiac surgery departnt at the affiliated hospital to see if they need surgery or anything.”
“That’s an urgent matter. An Hao, accompany your sister-in-law. I’ll take care of the child,” suggested Zhang Yun.
“When it cos to authority on cardiac surgery, that would be Yan Ye, but he is currently in the disaster area…” If they were to seek help, it should be from the best.
“It’s okay. I’m just here to inquire for now. When that Yan Ye cos back, you can accompany again,” Zhang Lanxiang said with gritted teeth, spreading a web of lies, “Alright.” An Hao agreed.
The heavy snow had finally given way to a clear day after so many. She had been feeling rather cooped up, so taking this chance to go out was welco.
“Sister-in-law, then you’ll have to trouble yourself with the children,” she said.
“No worries. I’ll call Old Feng to help look after the children. She always can’t wait to spend all day here with my two little treasures,” said Zhang Yun.
Leaving the military district’s compound, Zhang Lanxiang didn’t utter a word and kept her head down, walking in silence.
“Sister-in-law, what’s wrong with you? You seem off,” An Hao said, grabbing Zhang Lanxiang and leaning forward to look at her face.
She saw that Zhang Yun’s eyes were red and teary, and tears were slowly rolling down her cheeks.
An Hao was shocked, “What’s happened? Sister-in-law, is there so trouble at ho?”
Zhang Lanxiang lifted her head and looked at An Hao’s face. Her lips trembled, and she struggled to utter a word.
“Sister-in-law, what’s wrong? If there is a problem or hardship, talk to about it. You’re making very worried!” An Hao said anxiously.
