Mu Mian’s eyes flickered with surprise before settling back into calmness, “No. I don’t want to hide anything from you all either. You’re being too serious. After dinner, Mu Mian cleared away the pots and dishes. Before leaving, she said to Qin Jian and Tian Niu, “Tonight is New Year’s Eve. Although you are far from your relatives and hos, I still hope you can have a happy New Year’s Eve.”
“Thank you,” responded Qin Jian courteously and politely.
Mu Mian closed the door and left, and tranquility was restored in the room.

“Ah. So why do you think she’s always hiding things from us? Every ti we ask about her and her father, she dodges the question.”
“She must have her difficulties,” Qin Jian surmised.
After hearing that, Tian Niu frowned and complained, “Whether she has difficulties or not, I don’t know right now. But I sure do. I need to go… urgently.”

In the kitchen, Mu Mian was absorbed in washing dishes.

The person standing behind her was a young boy about her age, seventeen or eighteen.
