"Sorry, we’re late!" An Hao said with a smile, "It’s all Qin Jian’s fault. He didn’t tell earlier so that I could have prepared the food first thing in the morning!"
"Co on in," Gu Shuangshuang stepped aside and let the two of them in.

Lin Sheng excitedly rubbed his hands together and said, "Commander, actually, it was Zhao Dong, Captain Zhao, who found ! He asked if I still wanted to join the army!"

"That... let’s not talk about him, okay?" Lin Sheng, with an evasive and flickering gaze, asked when his eyes landed on An Hao, who sat beside Qin Jian, "Is this sister-in-law?"
Since Lin Sheng didn’t want to talk, Qin Jian didn’t press.
Every family has its own hard-to-read scripture; Lin Sheng had his reasons for not wanting to discuss it.

"Mianmian did co. But she’s working and couldn’t make it," Lin Sheng said.
"What does she do?" An Hao asked casually.
"She? She works as a waitress at the Nanguofeng Restaurant. She said they pay well there and provide food and accommodation, so she went," Lin Sheng answered truthfully.
"Nanguofeng... what a coincidence," An Hao murmured to herself.
"What did you say?" Lin Sheng asked eagerly, not catching her murmurs.
"Oh, nothing..."
Before An Hao could finish her sentence, a loud bang ca from the kitchen, followed imdiately by Tian Niu pushing the door open, and a wave of thick smoke along with the sll of burning wafted into the living room.
