"Boss Hou, I actually understand what’s on your mind, I’m very clear on that," Guan Qing said, her eyes fixed on his face with a aningful look.
There was a slight jump in Boss Hou’s heart, but his facial expression didn’t change much.
"Let’s hear it then."
"You think my husband Zhiyuan and I are no longer of much use to you, right? That’s why you want to climb the social ladder by getting to know people like Qin Jian," Guan Qing said with a sarcastic tone, looking down. "But you’re wasting your ti with that mindset. Not everyone falls for that. I don’t think Qin Jian would want to deal with you, nor do I think he could offer you any help."
Boss Hou let out a quiet sigh of relief and his face was once again full of smiles: "Sister Guan, do you really think I’m that kind of person?"
"Aren’t you?"
"On my honor!" Boss Hou patted his chest, "Sister, you tell , haven’t you and your husband had hard tis these past two months? Have I, your brother Hou, abandoned you?"
"Not yet, it doesn’t an you won’t in the future," Guan Qing said with a smile.
"Alas, I’d have to ask the waiter for a knife, then I’ll cut out my heart right in front of you to show you." Boss Hou spoke exaggeratedly.
"Co on, just joking with you and you took it seriously," Guan Qing rolled her eyes at him.
"You scared to death. I can’t not be friends with anyone, especially not with you and your husband," said Boss Hou, and this ti he really ant it.
"Why is that?" Guan Qing asked.
"Loyalty, you’re just too loyal."
"Thanks, Boss Hou."
"But what’s that ’glorious thing’ you didn’t tell about?" Boss Hou was still inquisitive.
"Military exercise," Guan Qing said succinctly.
"What military exercise? The one they talk about on TV? Where there’s nothing better to do, so a bunch of insiders, with you good folks and good too, fight a battle amongst themselves?" Boss Hou asked.
"Hahaha!" Guan Qing laughed heartily, "What an interesting way to put it. What do you an by ’insiders fighting each other’?"
"Isn’t it? In my eyes, I see no point in it, what’s the sense in insiders fighting each other?"
"Fighting others is what you call a war," Hen Zhiyuan put down the nu in his hand and joined the conversation, "A military exercise is an important ans of assessing the combat effectiveness of a military unit. During a military exercise, a real battlefield scenario is simulated, involving multiple branches of the military, and even featuring the debut of new weapons."
"Oh, I don’t understand any of that," laughed Boss Hou, "I just like the excitent and poking my nose into idle matters. Everyone has their military dreams, right? As a businessman, I inevitably co into contact with all sorts of people. Knowing a few military officers, actually, makes others respect more."
She believed him when he said that.
"You don’t have to explain any further. Let’s just keep our relationship as it was before," she said.
"I understand, I get it. But it would be great if us ordinary folks could also see those military exercises," Boss Hou said regretfully, "Oh, I’d really love to see those big cannons and airplanes up close. It would be quite impressive to talk about."
"The exercise zone is a closed area. Besides, do you think it’s sothing anyone can just go and watch?" Hen Zhiyuan found Boss Hou to be quite amusing.
"Then why not?"
"Oh my, Brother Hou, how could your IQ suddenly drop like this?" Guan Qing couldn’t help but laugh at him, "If I changed my surna I would go watch a military exercise, but what if a shell falls from the sky and hits soone? Plus, ordinary folks could obstruct the military exercise."
