"Fourth Brother, rest assured! Brother Kun said to listen to you. I will follow your commands in everything!" the towering man said.
"Okay, then let’s get going." Old Fourth nodded and led a group of people, heading our way.
.................
Quite a few people had left the civilian house, which Mu Mian glanced over.
Only Mu Qiankun, the Rat, and a few naless n remained in the house.
Mu Qiankun was sleeping, while the Rat was playing mahjong with those n in the house.
They were all making quite a racket.
Mu Mian felt that now was a good opportunity, as her last attempt to sneak off and report to the police had failed.
This ti, it should work, right?
So, she whispered to Lin Sheng, quietly picked up the basket, and without saying goodbye to anyone else in the house, she sneaked out. There was so distance to the police station. If Mu Mian walked, it would take at least half an hour.
To avoid being noticed, she ran out the door with the basket and sprinted away.
By the ti she was gasping for breath and had no energy left,
she finally arrived at the entrance of the police station. Mu Mian took a deep breath in relief, but just as she was about to enter, she suddenly felt soone grab her mouth tightly from behind.
"Mmmmm..." Mu Mian was startled and struggled desperately.
But then she heard the Rat’s low-threaten behind her ear: "Mianmian, do you want to get us all killed? I’m telling you, this is the last ti I want to see you around. If there’s a next ti, I won’t care that you’re Mu Qiankun’s daughter. I’ll just make sure you’re dead and toss you into a ravine, and whoever wants to find you can go look!"
Fury made Mu Mian tremble all over, even here at this place, that damn Rat dared to be so arrogant.
She was not afraid!
Mu Mian struggled forcefully, uttering indistinct sounds through her muffled mouth.
The commotion caught the attention of the gatekeeper.
That’s when a police officer started walking their way.
Spotting the trouble, the Rat quickly whispered to Mu Mian: "I’m telling you! If the police co and you dare reveal a word, I guarantee your Lin Sheng will die even worse than !"
Lin Sheng was Mu Mian’s Achilles’ heel, and upon hearing his na, she imdiately stopped struggling.
By the ti the police officer arrived, the Rat had already let go of Mu Mian, pretending to be an uncle scolding his niece: "Look at you, what are you running for? You would leave your own father for so wild man! He’s had a fall, and he needs soone to take care of him... tell , how can you be so thoughtless."
Seeing this, the police officer asked Mu Mian, "What’s your relation? What did he just do to you?"
"He’s my uncle," Mu Mian whispered.
"I saw him cover your mouth, and you were struggling. Are you sure everything’s okay?" the officer asked, concerned.
"It’s really okay. Despite how quietly she seems, this girl is stubborn; for the sake of a pretty boy, she’d even abandon her own dad," The Rat hurried to interject, "I’m just trying to take her back ho."
"Really?" The police officer’s gaze shifted back to Mu Mian.
"I was wrong. I’ll go back ho with you now," Mu Mian said, her head bowed as she walked back.
Seeing them leave, the officer also turned and went back.
Halfway there, the Rat viciously said, "You’re sensible at least!"
Mu Mian kept silent and continued walking forward.
The Rat wandered around the street, and upon seeing a sweet potato seller, went over: "Give two roasted sweet potatoes!"
The seller quickly wrapped up two roasted sweet potatoes in a newspaper and handed them over. The Rat hurriedly caught up and handed one to Mu Mian: "I was too harsh just now! Don’t tell your dad! Have a sweet potato!"
Mu Mian glared at him fiercely, now he was trying to bribe her.
She snatched the roasted sweet potato, about to viciously slam it on the ground, when a photo in a prominent position on the newspaper caught all her attention.
It was a photo of An Hao and Yan Ye!
