"Can you promise that you won’t hurt them again?" An Hao asked in a deep voice.
"I can!" Mu Qiankun answered without hesitation.
"No! Sister, don’t trust my dad! His words are completely unreliable!" Mu Mian shouted anxiously. "If you choose to trust him, you will regret it!"
"Mu Mian!" Mu Qiankun bellowed. Because of the exertion, the blade pressed in further, so he quickly eased his body. "Why don’t you trust ?"
"I just don’t trust you! You’ve never kept your word!" Mu Mian retorted.
"Fine! Then we’ll just keep this standoff going!" Mu Qiankun knew that while An Hao was trying to counterbalance him, he held leverage against her too.
Right now, their situation was one of mutual restraint.
In the span of just a few seconds, everyone’s thoughts raced frantically in their minds.
Rat and Big Guy wanted to abandon Mu Qiankun outright, but they feared they might not make it out of the forest alive.
Dr. Lu and Yan Ye, on the other hand, were focused on figuring out how to ensure everyone’s safety despite their injuries. They hadn’t traveled far yet, and continuing forward might push their bodies past the limit.
The most pressing issue now was how to escape this nightmare as quickly as possible.
"Here’s what we’ll do..." Yan Ye thought for a mont before speaking.
"Here’s what we’ll do!" An Hao interrupted him. She glanced at the injured Yan Ye and Dr. Lu, secretly firming her resolve before saying, "Let them go! I’ll stay as the hostage!"
"What?" Mu Qiankun thought he must have misheard her.
"No way!" Yan Ye and Dr. Lu firmly rejected her proposal. "An Hao, stop being reckless! This isn’t the ti for heroics!"
"All of you, stop talking and let finish!" An Hao cut them off and turned to Mu Qiankun. "You made a mistake when you took us hostage in the first place! You kidnapped three military doctors—two of whom are physically strong n! Now they’re injured, and keeping them with you will only slow everyone down!"
"Little girl, you’re not stupid, and neither am I! Their injuries aren’t on their legs. It doesn’t stop them from walking!" Mu Qiankun replied.
"True. But if they don’t receive dical treatnt soon, in this harsh environnt, their conditions will worsen! When that happens, they’ll fall ill and beco even more of a burden. If they die, you’ll have to leave them behind anyway! Why take on such a huge risk now? You should know—three people are a much bigger liability than one."
An Hao’s analysis was spot on, and Mu Qiankun found her words reasonable. Looking at the current situation, he realized there wasn’t ti to keep stalling, so he decisively made a choice.
"Fine! We’ll do as she says!"
Yan Ye and Dr. Lu were released, but the two refused to leave. "We can’t just abandon you like this!"

Her voice choked up, but she forced herself to continue: "Tell him to take good care of the child!"
In that mont, a spark lit up in Yan Ye’s eyes. He made a swift decision and nodded heavily, promising An Hao, "Don’t worry, I’ll make sure your ssage reaches him!"
She was telling them to find Qin Jian to co and save her!
"Go! Hurry up and go!" An Hao shouted, her eyes reddened.
Qin Jian, I need you! Hurry!
