The cost of hosting the banquet at the State Guesthouse Grand Hotel was by no ans trivial. For the Yan Family, footing the entire bill would have been a tall order.
Therefore, the Lin Family opted to split the costs.
They would cover the expenses for hosting the Lin Family’s friends, while the rest would be handled by the Yan Family.

The Yan Family had no objections to this. As long as they could bring their daughter-in-law ho, everything was negotiable.
Thus, on the wedding day, Lin Qiushu would first be brought from the Lin Family residence to the military compound for a formal introduction to the family house and to address her new in-laws as “mother” and “father.” After that, the family would drive to the hotel to host their relatives and friends.

That evening, after dinner, the Ning Family gathered to discuss the wedding preparations for the next day, deliberating over how much monetary gift would be appropriate to give.
The door suddenly resounded with knocks. Zhang Yun got up to open it and saw Yan Ye standing there, holding an incredibly ornate gift box.
“Oh, Xiaoye! Co on in!” Zhang Yun stepped aside to let Yan Ye in, warmly inviting him. “So, how are you feeling? Excited to be the groom tomorrow?”
“Excited! Of course, I’m excited! I’ve been waiting for this day for over thirty years!” Yan Ye replied, half-jokingly.
“I’d say the wait was entirely worth it! Qiushu’s an extraordinary young lady!” Ning Yibin couldn’t hold back his praise for the bride.
