But seeing all these things has really chilled her heart.
"I understand." Qin Jian said, "Do you want to help them?"
"No need. If your family helps them once, they’ll cling to you. Life is your own, how you live it should be your own decision." An Hao said.
"Alright." Qin Jian nodded, "Then don’t be unhappy. If Dad sees you like this when we get back, it’ll upset him."
"I just can’t be happy." She just wanted a quiet life.
"Look at the sky." Qin Jian suddenly pointed at the gloomy sky, "In such weather, there are still stars—isn’t it strange?"
"How is that possible?" An Hao didn’t believe it.
"Why not? Look up at the sky." Qin Jian said very seriously.
"Are you trying to fool for lack of common knowledge?" An Hao said but still looked up.
Qin Jian grinned and slipped his icy hand into An Hao’s neck.
"Ahhhh!" An Hao scread, "You’re such a bad guy!"
She raised her hand to hit Qin Jian, but Qin Jian ran away: "Catch and I’ll let you have a good beating."
"You said it."
The couple chased each other along the path, their crisp laughter causing the snow on the trees to fall.
An Hao slipped and fell to the ground, yelling out in pain.
Qin Jian heard her and stopped in his tracks.
Seeing An Hao clutching her legs, groaning in pain, he rushed over: "Are you alright?"
"I twisted my ankle, it hurts so much." An Hao’s face was scrunched up in agony.
"Let take a look." Qin Jian crouched down to check her injury.
An Hao slyly smiled, quickly picked up a handful of snow, and shoved it into Qin Jian’s collar.
Qin Jian shivered, shook the snow out of his clothes, and raised an eyebrow: "Little girl, you’re really sothing! Want to have a snowball fight with ? Want to try?"
"No way." An Hao quickly shook her head, jokingly, if she were to have a snowball fight with Qin Jian, she’d be a moving target, and it would be a miracle not to be hit badly.
"Do you still dare to be mischievous?" Qin Jian held back his laughter.
"But it was you who provoked first." An Hao said defiantly, "I’m just using the sa tactics against you."
"Right. Wife, you’re right! Since that’s the case, let’s call a truce. It’s too cold outside, let’s go ho!"
"I’m in too much pain now, I can’t get up." An Hao shalessly lied.
Qin Jian saw she was almost wrapped up like a cocoon, with that army coat acting like a duvet, yet she claid to be in pain.
"Should I carry you back?"
"Yes yes." An Hao nodded continuously, "I’ve been waiting for you to say that."
"Off we go!" Qin Jian crouched down and easily lifted An Hao onto his back.
The snowfall lightened, An Hao wrapped her arms around Qin Jian’s neck, buried her head in his nape, softly saying, "Rember how many tis you’ve carried like this? I really miss that feeling from the past."
"I’ve always said I’ll carry you for a lifeti..." Qin Jian laughed, "My dream has co true..."

An Hui was extrely dejected, with hands tucked in his sleeves, trudging back through the thick snow.
All the way, he cursed An Hao a thousand tis.
When he got to the intersection, a sudden bright beam of light shone straight at him.
