“Ji Chuan, have you always been this good at sweet talk?” Yan Huan pouted and said.
Ji Chuan only smiled without saying a word.
He didn’t need to explain anything; ti would explain everything to Yan Huan.
“I’m leaving. The next ti we et will be when you return!” Ji Chuan picked up his luggage, ready to set off.
As he ca out of the tent, the free clinic outside was bustling with activity.
He greeted a few colleagues.
Cheng Yue and An Hao also ca over, still with stethoscopes around their necks.
“Are you leaving? I can’t see you off. I still have a few patients here. You should just go by yourself. Be careful on the road!” An Hao bid him farewell simply.
“Sa here, Director! Thank you for telling so much yesterday, I’ve learned a lot! However, even so, I won’t…”
“You won’t let go easily. I understand! Neither will I! Goodbye, Cheng Yue!”
“Goodbye!”
An Hao and Cheng Yue returned to work, while Ji Chuan looked at Yan Huan in front of him and said, “Do you have any business? If not, you could send to the village entrance to catch the bus!”
“Can I… refuse?” Yan Huan looked up at him.
“Of course — not!” Ji Chuan smiled lightly.
“Alright. You can’t eat and take from soone without owing them! Who told to eat your food and drink your drinks! I owe you this favor; I need to repay it now.” Yan Huan said half-jokingly.
“If you want to understand it that way, fine.” Ji Chuan did not explain or argue with her, smiled lightly, and walked ahead with his luggage.
Yan Huan followed closely behind.
Qiu Xinyi slept in late, as the noise outside the tent grew louder, she finally got up.
She had stayed up too late reading a novel last night, so she woke up much later in the morning.
After washing up, she was sitting on her bed eating when she heard soone calling Ji Chuan’s na.
Ji Chuan?
Qiu Xinyi thought she had misheard, but then soone called Ji Chuan’s na again, confirming she hadn’t misheard.
Her heart raced, and she tossed her unfinished breakfast onto the table and rushed out of the tent.
She just happened to bump into Ji Chuan walking toward her.
He looked as fresh and handso as the first ti she saw him, always with a faint smile on his lips, appearing so graceful.
“Dr. Ji!” Qiu Xinyi greeted him with a beaming smile, “I didn’t expect you to be here too?”
“Do we know each other?” Ji Chuan felt a bit puzzled as a stranger spoke to him.
“You… don’t rember ?” Qiu Xinyi couldn’t believe it, that in less than a month, Ji Chuan had no impression of her at all.
“Sorry…”
Qiu Xinyi understood; he didn’t rember her, which ant he never noticed her at all.
Not even a little bit.
In that instant, an unprecedented feeling of frustration enveloped her.
“Officer Qiu, if you have nothing else, please make way; Director Ji is busy catching a bus.” Yan Huan glanced at the ti, fearing Ji Chuan would miss his ride back.
“Who said I have nothing to do?” Qiu Xinyi was not in a good mood, “Can’t I have a few words with Director Ji? You’re allowed to speak, but I’m not?”
“Go ahead. But please be quick, I do need to catch a bus.” Ji Chuan had long forgotten about Qiu Xinyi; that casual encounter hadn’t left a ripple in his mind.
Qiu Xinyi was stunned for a few seconds, but she still decided to introduce herself.
