An Hao could no longer bother talking to Wang Zhong. What good would saying sorry do?
She held the child and returned to the bedroom. She was a woman and a mother, and seeing her child like this made her heart ache.
Her heart wasn’t that big; forgiveness didn’t co easily.
"An Hao’s mood isn’t great right now. Don’t take it too personally, you know that anyone in this situation would find it hard to forgive so easily," Qin Jian explained to Wang Zhong.
He wasn’t feeling any better either, but what could they do now?
They couldn’t go and push Wang Xiaohu to hurt his head as well, right?
"I understand, I understand! Sir, let the child rest for now. I’ll co back later to check on him!" Wang Zhong apologized repeatedly and left.
An Hao looked at the pained expression of Ning Chenguang, gently patting him. Words from He Fusheng echoed in her mind.
Was she really going to send the child away for a while?
An Hao thought about it and decided to call her neurosurgery expert colleague for advice. He had been in this field for many years, likely more experienced than her.
Once the call connected, she explained the situation to the senior military doctor, who agreed with the suggestion.
If the child couldn’t stand the noise in the city, he could recuperate in the countryside for a while and return when his condition improved.
An Hao returned to the bedside, looking at Ning Chenguang, who lay in pain on the hospital bed, and gently asked, "Guangguang, do you want to go and stay at He Uncle and Yueyue’s place in He Family Manor for a while?"
"I do." Ning Chenguang agreed without hesitation.
That small village held his most beautiful mories; he still rembered Lan Yingying’s sky, the clear waters, and a bunch of simple playmates.
"Alright. This ti, would you like to go with He Uncle and Yueyue?" An Hao held back her sadness as she spoke.
"Mom! If I leave, will you get lonely? Will you miss ?" Ning Chenguang looked at An Hao with wide eyes.
"Yes. But because I love you, I’m willing to let you go as long as you get better!" An Hao’s eyes were filled with affection, "Just have fun when you go. Dad and I will visit you often! If you get tired of staying, tell mom, and dad and I will co get you back!"
"Okay!" Ning Chenguang hugged An Hao tightly, "Mom, I love you!"
"I love you too, son!"
When An Hao brought Ning Chenguang back out, He Fusheng and He Yue’s expressions were much more joyful.
"Big brother, I heard everything! Co stay at our house; stay as long as you’d like! There are no cars in the village, so you won’t be disturbed!"
Qin Jian looked at An Hao, surprised to see her holding back tears, and he respected his wife’s decision.
"Sister-in-law! Qin, my brother, don’t be sad. When Guangguang stays at our house, I certainly won’t let him suffer." He Fusheng promised repeatedly.
"We trust you!" Qin Jian pulled his son into his arms for a tight hug, kissed him gently on the forehead, and said, "Guangguang, if you miss us, go to the post office, make a call, or send a telegram! We’ll co visit you."
"I’ll rember, dad!" Ning Chenguang nuzzled into his father’s embrace, "When I co back, I’ll surely be better. Then mom won’t cry anymore."
"Mhm." Qin Jian patted Ning Chenguang’s shoulder, then picked up a glass of Maotai, stood up, and toasted to He Fusheng, "Big Brother He, we’ll be counting on you for Guangguang again!"
"We all like this child! I treat him as my own son!"
"Thank you, Big Brother He! I’ll drink this toast to you!" Qin Jian tilted his head back, downing the drink in one go.
