446: Chapter 446 The Secret in the Envelope 446: Chapter 446 The Secret in the Envelope An Hao watched the two inexplicably strange objects with confusion, “Who sent you this letter?

Why isn’t there a single word written on it?”

“No return address, I’m not sure,” Qin Jian was also puzzled.

“This is really interesting.” An Hao took the envelope and looked at it carefully, trying to find so information, but she discovered nothing.

The two of them stood at the doorway, studying it for a long ti.

It was getting late, and Qin Jian decided not to continue investigating.

A person who sends a letter without signing their na or address, and a piece of blank paper without any content, isn’t worth his worry and effort if they did not want him to know who they were.

Since there was no malice and no information to reveal, he thought it was best to let it go.

Qin Jian and An Hao carrying things, visited every family in the courtyard to express their thanks, and of course, it was An Hao who did all the talking.

Qin Jian has always been a man of few words, only speaking more to her and his close friends and family, and a bit more when it involved military matters, but he rarely spoke otherwise.

They had distributed almost everything and had seen almost everyone.

The residents of the courtyard had a particularly good impression of An Hao, praising Qin Jian for marrying such a good wife.

Except for the Yan Family’s people, who were sowhat unfriendly.

To be more specific, it was Feng Yuzhi; seeing An Hao enter, her daughter alone suffering from lovesickness, how could she, as a mother, feel at ease?

Her face was smiling, but her words were a bit obstructive towards An Hao.

However, it was not too bad; out of respect for both families, she didn’t say anything too unpleasant but it was still uncomfortable to listen to.

And An Hao, out of respect for being a new bride and considering the relationship between the two families, also gave her face.

Both parties were fine with maintaining face, so they let it be.

Seeing that it was almost noon, Qin Jian was to treat to lunch, being the host he couldn’t arrive too late.

So, he took An Hao and walked out.

Liu Jun, who was driving for him, had a sick mother at ho and wasn’t around these days, and since the restaurant wasn’t far from where they lived, Qin Jian simply decided to walk over with An Hao.

Just as they passed the guard at the gate, the soldier in the mailroom stopped him, “Staff Officer Qin, here’s a letter for you.”

“Another letter?” An Hao was surprised, “What’s with today?

Why are there always letters?

Open it up and see.”

Qin Jian nodded and opened the envelope to look inside.

After seeing what was inside, he froze in shock.

“What’s inside?” An Hao was impatiently curious.

“It’s empty,” Qin Jian said.

“Empty?

Let see.” An Hao reached for the envelope behind him.

Qin Jian quickly turned the envelope upside down, and the contents instantly fell into his palm.

He pinched the envelope with two fingers and handed it to An Hao.

An Hao took the envelope and, seeing it was indeed empty, was even more baffled.

“Let’s go.

It might be just a prank by so young warrior,” said Qin Jian, and then he folded the envelope and put it in his pocket, pulling An Hao along as they continued to walk.

At the restaurant, the soldiers had already arrived one after another, with the sole exception of Jiang Ying.

It was almost New Year’s, and he had gone back to his hotown with his wife.

Seeing that Jiang ‘the Fox’ wasn’t there, Qin Jian breathed a sigh of relief; otherwise, if he got into trouble with Tian Niu and the others today, he would certainly end up drunk.

“Yo!

Staff Officer!

You seem to be beaming with pleasure today, and in high spirits!” Tian Niu ca up clapping his hands, grinning at Qin Jian, “Congratulations, Staff Officer!

Your thirty-so years of bachelorhood have finally ended!

Now, I would like to interview you about your experience last night.”
