"Brother..."

"Shh. Don’t make a sound."

Su Xing placed a finger to his lips, shushing him. Then, in a few quick steps, he was at Su Yu’s bedside. He scooped up his brother and bolted for the door. He couldn’t leave Su Yu in such a dangerous place.

Based on who the Spiritual Sect had just targeted, it was obvious they still wanted Su Yu dead.

Su Yu was severely injured and could barely move. If the Spiritual Sect launched a frenzied assault, Su Xing couldn’t be certain he could protect him completely. He had to find a safer place.

Su Yu imdiately fell silent at Su Xing’s voice. He understood what his brother was doing, but it would easily draw all the Spiritual Sect’s firepower onto Su Xing alone. After a mont’s thought, his voice appeared directly in Su Xing’s mind.

"Brother, this is too dangerous."

"You don’t know how many Priests the Spiritual Sect has. Even if you’re so mysterious expert, you can’t possibly hold them all off. They can bury you with sheer numbers."

But Su Xing didn’t reply.

He just glanced down at Su Yu in his arms and continued running upstairs.

Just as Su Xing reached the next landing, the bright lights overhead suddenly went out, plunging the entire hospital into darkness. At the sa ti, a loud BOOM echoed from outside the inpatient building.

Clearly, the forces the special organization had assigned to protect the wounded were now clashing with the Spiritual Sect.

Su Yu was no fool. He imdiately used his newly awakened transmission Sequence to send a ssage to Liu Ming and the others, one by one: The hospital was under attack by the Spiritual Sect.

His eyes narrowed as he watched the faint glow of fire flicker outside the hallway window. The Spiritual Sect’s recklessness was beyond his imagination. They fought with no regard for their own lives. First the building, now the hospital—they were trying to wipe them out completely!

A surge of anger rose from his gut, and his face began to flush. But seeing Su Xing’s calm expression, his gaze fixed straight ahead, Su Yu felt his own heart steady. He prayed inwardly:

’I hope... reinforcents get here soon.’

...

「In a black sports car.」

Liu Ming was flooring it, sending the sports car screaming down the main road.

In the passenger seat sat another man wearing sunglasses, a slight smirk on his lips. He glanced at Liu Ming’s tense expression and spoke, his tone exasperated.

"My dear little brother, look at the state you’ve let the south get into. Now your big brother has to co clean up your ss."

"You’ve got ti for jokes? I’ve been begging headquarters for backup, and all they sent were a few useless Tier Three Sequencers. If you’d gotten here sooner, things wouldn’t be this much of a ss!"

Liu Ming shot a glare at the man beside him, his voice strained.

’Faster, faster!’ he prayed. Liu Ming couldn’t believe it. He’d only gone to pick up the reinforcents from headquarters, and the Spiritual Sect had launched a direct assault. Their audacity made his heart skip a beat.

"Little brother, you’ve been away from ho for so long, and you’re still this impatient. That’s why you got sent out to a backwater like the south. You should see that kid, Li Yu."

The man in sunglasses sighed, though a smile still played on his lips. "All right, all right. Seeing as you’re in such a rush, I suppose we can speed things up a bit."

With that, he lightly snapped the fingers of his right hand.

Liu Ming’s vision blurred for an instant, and suddenly, they were standing right in front of the hospital entrance. He stared, astonished at the scene. He turned to his older brother, dumbfounded, and his voice was tight as he asked:

"Brother... have you already broken through to Tier Four?"

His older brother, Liu Chang. His Sequence was Spatial Ghost, and its rank was exceptionally high, second only to Li Yu and the recently erged Su Yu. He was considered an absolute standout of his generation at headquarters.

"Heh, sothing like that."

Liu Chang didn’t deny it. Instead, he glanced up at the roof of the inpatient building with a look of surprise, pointed, and muttered,

"A Tier Three... A powerful Tier Three. Doesn’t seem to be one of our people."

"What?"

Liu Ming hadn’t quite heard him.

But Liu Chang didn’t elaborate. He just kicked Liu Ming in the ass and shouted, "Get going already! A mont longer and your teammates will all be dead. If anything happens to Su Yu, you’ll have hell to pay."

Liu Ming shot Liu Chang a look but said nothing more, sprinting toward the hospital.

He knew his older brother wouldn’t intervene. Liu Chang often said that matters between Tiers should be handled by those of the sa Tier. He wouldn’t make a move unless the Spiritual Sect dispatched a Tier Four expert, or if he felt the situation was spiraling out of control.

Liu Chang leaned against the hood of the car, pulled a cigarette from his pocket, and lit it. Through the swirling smoke, he watched his younger brother charge toward the battlefield. A smile touched his lips.

"You little punk. Guess I didn’t waste my ti teaching you."

’Still, Liu Ming is going to have a hard ti dealing with that many Priests.’

Liu Chang looked up at the roof of the inpatient building, took a deep drag from his cigarette, and slowly exhaled. "You must be that mysterious expert," he mused. "Facing so many Spiritualist Priests at once... I’m curious to see how long you can hold out."

"If things get really bad... I suppose I’ll have to stretch my legs a bit."

...

SLAM!

Su Xing slamd open the door to the rooftop, hurried inside, and gently placed Su Yu in a corner.

The entire hospital was now plunged into darkness. Su Xing could only use the moonlight to make out his surroundings.

Down below, the hospital had descended into chaos. The sudden darkness had unleashed panic among the ordinary people inside.

Combined with the raging battle between the Spiritual Sect and the special organization outside—the terrifying explosions, the shaking ceilings, the clouds of dust—it was a scene beyond the comprehension of the ordinary doctors, nurses, and patients.

Su Xing stood near the edge of the roof,

His sharp gaze noticed the figure of the man in sunglasses standing beside the car down below.

Under the circumstances, a man leaning against a car and smoking as if he were watching a show was highly suspicious, but Su Xing only spared him a single glance before retracting his gaze.

Because...

Su Xing heard the sound of approaching footsteps outside the door.

His reason for coming to the rooftop was simple. Unlike the narrow confines of the floors below, where attacks could co from all sides and countless other variables were at play...

...the rooftop was wide and open, giving Su Xing maximum room to fight.

Furthermore, it had only one entrance. Su Xing wouldn’t have to worry about attacks from other directions unless soone could fly—which was practically impossible.

At least, Su Xing had never heard of any Sequencer, regardless of their tier, being able to fly unless their Sequence specifically granted that ability. And such Sequencers were a tiny minority.

Thus, this high, spacious rooftop with its single entrance was the perfect battlefield for Su Xing. It would also serve as the graveyard for the Spiritualist Priests.

Su Xing turned, his eyes locking onto the doorway.

He could sense the heavy breathing of several people on the other side. Not just one, but at least six or seven Tier Three Peak Sequencers. His eyes narrowed.

The Black Sword materialized in his right hand. His voice thundered across the rooftop.

"Enter... and die!"
