The Power Priest’s sudden death made the remaining Spiritualist Priests regard Su Xing with an almost absurd level of caution.
They knew the mysterious master was strong, but they never imagined he would be *this* powerful.
Each of them stared intently at Su Xing, fearing he would suddenly strike and reduce their already dwindling numbers by one more.
Their only hope for survival was to attack together and kill Su Xing outright. They absolutely could not afford to lose two more Priests as mysteriously as they had before.
They exchanged glances, seeing the resolve in each other’s eyes.
Then, each of the five Priests pulled out a glass syringe filled with a pale white energy, preparing to inject it directly into their bodies for one last, desperate gambit.
The Priests present were all ruthless n, participants in the Kamikaze Plan. The Kamikaze Plan—to put it mildly—was a suicide squad. Every Priest who dared to join was a butcher who had killed countless people and held life in contempt.
Thus, once their initial fear subsided, it was replaced by an unprecedented, do-or-die resolve. Their eyes glowed crimson as, without hesitation, they plunged the syringes into their own bodies with a collective HISS.
One of the Priests, feeling the surge of imnse power, suddenly broke into a savage, maniacal laughter, as if victory in the coming battle was already his.
Su Xing’s eyes narrowed slightly.
He was not pleased.
To Su Xing, this desperate counterattack from the five Priests ant he was about to lose out on a huge pile of Sword Dao Points for no good reason. He cracked his neck from side to side with a series of sharp POPS, his lips pulling back into a grin that revealed deathly pale teeth.
’What a waste of resources.’
’I wonder... if I kill you now, can I still absorb it from your bodies?’
Although they couldn’t quite make out what Su Xing had said, the Priests all felt his almost tangible killing intent. One of them stepped forward and roared:
"Who the fuck are you trying to impress?!"
"Today, we’re the ones who are going to kill you!"
The Priest who charged out first was wiry, his body shrouded in an azure-gray energy. His aura was even more formidable than that of the Power Priest who had died so miserably at Su Xing’s hands!
With a flicker, he vanished, only to reappear a short distance in front of Su Xing as if he had teleported. A trail of closely linked afterimages stretched out behind him, each one so solid it looked like a tangible clone.
"Impressively fast,"
Su Xing remarked nonchalantly.
He seed completely uninterested in his enemy’s technique.
And that was indeed the case.
It was fast, yes, but to Su Xing, it was nothing more than a flashy display.
Seeing their comrade charge ahead, the other Priests surged toward Su Xing as well.
Their bodies radiated with multicolored energies, their auras faintly surpassing the Tier Three Peak. Having learned their lesson from the Power Priest’s fate, they stayed close, determined not to let Su Xing pick them off one by one. They had to overwhelm him together!
The five Priests, like five ferocious tigers, converged on Su Xing from different directions with the sa savage intensity!
The Black Sword materialized in his hand, a white glimr playing along its edge. Su Xing stood his ground, not retreating a single step. A thousand white threads materialized around him, weaving and spiraling together until they fused into a colossal white longsword.
Five Priests. All it would take was a single slash.
A terrifying pulse of power made the five Priests’ pupils contract. An intense aura of death washed over them, chilling them as if they’d been plunged into an icy abyss. Their will to fight evaporated, and almost in unison, they scrambled backward.
Simultaneously, the energy shrouding them abandoned its offensive form, coalescing into layered shields before them. Each was a Tier Three Sequencer who had just injected a power booster; their Energy Shields seed solid and indestructible.
Seeing their defenses take shape, several of the Priests breathed a sigh of relief. Not even they could have shattered such a sturdy shield!
But in the next instant, Su Xing, still standing in place, slashed forward with his Black Sword. Though the black blade cut through empty air, the colossal white sword beside him shot forward, instantly running all five Priests through!
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
In the darkness, five shattering sounds rang out in quick succession. The Energy Shields before the five Priests crumbled like tissue paper. An instant later, their heads followed, severed by the single slash before they even had ti to react.
SPLAT!
The five heads, like launched waterlons, smashed against the surrounding walls and burst apart, releasing a splash of garish red and a foul stench.
The five headless bodies stood like five bloody fountains, spewing gore toward the ceiling. The spray painted the ceiling a faint crimson before raining back down, drenching both Su Xing and Su Yu.
Su Xing relaxed his right hand, and the Black Sword dissolved into motes of dark light that orbited him. He stepped through the blood and shadows, walking toward the five headless corpses. Reaching one, he gently patted its shoulder.
[Energy suitable for Martial Artist absorption detected. Now converting to Sword Dao Points.]
Seeing the system prompt, Su Xing finally broke into a relieved smile. He went on to pat the shoulders of all five corpses in turn, then walked over to search the desiccated corpse that had been split in two earlier. Only then did he let out a long sigh of relief and mutter:
"That was close. I almost took a loss on that."
"They... they’re all dead? Just like that?"
Leaning in a corner, Su Yu stared blankly at Su Xing, muttering in disbelief.
These were seven goddamn Spiritualist Priests! A force that even the special organizations had to handle with extre caution! And his brother just... killed them? Just like that? And... he made it look so easy?!
Su Yu felt like the world had gone insane.
He knew his older brother was a mysterious and powerful master, but he’d never imagined he was *this* ridiculously strong.
If he had known earlier,
why would he have panicked so much!
...
「Across the street.」
The Thunder Priestess stood there, staring intently at the opposite rooftop through a pair of binoculars. When she saw the last of the Priests die so horribly, her body went limp, and the binoculars slipped from her hand, falling to the ground.
THUD.
The Thunder Priestess found it unbelievable. She rubbed her temples hard, her face suddenly flushing red as she began muttering to herself like a madwoman:
"How the fuck is this possible!"
"How can this be possible?!"
"Impossible... impossible... impossible..."
"Heh. It is very possible."
Just as the Thunder Priestess was descending into madness, a man’s cold voice suddenly sounded from behind her. Her body went rigid as she slowly turned around.
She only had ti to see a black sword slashing toward her before her head was sent flying, smashing against a nearby wall like a rotten waterlon.
’Another one for the count.’
Su Xing erged from the shadows. He picked up the binoculars from the ground and looked across at the opposite rooftop, where Su Yu and the belatedly arriving mbers of the special organization were now gathered. He murmured:
"That should settle things, right?"
