With the protection of the Ring of Extre Defense, Sunan could attack without worry.

Faced with the highly threatening Blood Soul Insects, he did not hold back at all and imdiately activated the Calamity Ring on his left hand.

All four rings flashed simultaneously.

In an instant, four enormous gray claws appeared in the void, sweeping through the swarm like a gale sweeping away fallen leaves.

Countless Blood Soul Insects fell to the ground like dumplings into water.

The dense swarm was suddenly noticeably thinned out.

Following closely, a large amount of silver tallic liquid once again oozed from Sunan’s body, forming sharp spikes that shot out rapidly in all directions, centering on him. It instantly annihilated over a hundred Blood Soul Insects.

Under Sunan’s relentless and fierce assault, the swarm was rapidly reduced at an astonishing speed.

In just over half a minute, Sunan cleared the Blood Soul Insects around him and turned to look at Rose on the other side.

The latter was in a far more perilous situation.

Rose had exhausted all her trump cards but had only managed to eliminate fewer than a hundred Blood Soul Insects, with over a hundred more still surrounding her.

At this mont, her strange plants had been devoured completely, and she could only rely on magical items to barely fend off the swarm’s attacks.

Thankfully, most of the Blood Soul Insects had been attracted to Sunan, allowing her to hold on until now.

After Sunan intervened to support her, the two quickly cleared the remaining swarm.

The few surviving Blood Soul Insects were trapped by Sunan in a makeshift iron cage crafted from Refined Iron.

Such rare creatures must be taken back for proper study.

Out of danger, Rose breathed a sigh of relief. She turned to look at where Sunan had been fighting earlier and was stunned to see the thick layer of insect corpses on the ground.

No matter how many tis she witnessed it, Sunan’s display of power always left her secretly amazed.

After the battle, two of Sunan’s Rings of Extre Defense were completely depleted and needed recharging before they could be used again.

Another’s defense capacity was more than half spent.

All four Calamity Rings also needed to be recharged before further use.

The two Steel Golems suffered varying degrees of damage, but fortunately, their injuries weren’t severe. They could self-repair by absorbing energy at the base’s geonode.

Spiritual Power was still about half remaining, allowing the use of the Demon Pattern Core for about a minute.

Overall, more than half of the combat power remained.

Feeling reassured, Sunan clutched a High-level Rune Gemstone in his palm and cautiously proceeded into the passage from which the Blood Soul Insects had erged.

Beyond the passage was a room transford into a nest, with walls covered in beehive-like small holes, inside of which many shed exoskeletons of Blood Soul Insects remained.

After checking around and finding no remaining Blood Soul Insects, Sunan relaxed slightly.

If another swarm ca, he might have to consider a temporary retreat.

Rose also breathed a big sigh of relief, not wanting to face those terrifying insects again.

They erged from the left-side passage and turned into the right-side passage.

Beyond the passage was another room transford into a nest, with dense small holes on the walls containing bugs.

At first glance, seeing this scene, Sunan and Rose instinctively tensed up, adopting a combat stance, but soon they realized that these were not Blood Soul Insects but another kind of insect resembling large ladybugs, their backs covered in a crystalline shell.

They lay motionless in the holes, seemingly in a deep sleep.

Sunan stepped forward, carefully picked up one insect, observed it for a while, and then shook his head at Rose.

"Dead."

This insect had no life force remaining within it.

The two then checked each insect one by one, discovering that most were dead, with only a scant six still holding a faint life force, as weak as a candle in the wind, ready to be snuffed out at any mont.

After so thought, Sunan decided to place these insects into the iron cage too.

Leaving the nest, the two began to search each room.

The first was a warehouse, containing over ten shelves lined with various materials.

As expected, due to the passage of ti, most materials had decomposed and were unusable.

Only a small amount of rare tals remained intact.

Following this were a ditation Room, an indoor garden, and an apothecary, but unfortunately, nothing notable was found.

It wasn’t until they entered a space that looked like a magical practice room that they discovered sothing.

The entire practice room was filled with dust, with the walls, floor, and ceiling pockmarked and covered in cracks, as if it had witnessed an intense battle.

A skeletal corpse sat alone against a corner of the wall.

The skeleton was still wearing a robe.

Sunan imdiately recognized it as a magical robe, though after so much ti, it was surely ineffective.

"The owner of this place?"

Rose pointed to the rings on the skeleton’s hand, whose Enchanted Runes had beco blurry.

"Perhaps," Sunan’s gaze swept over the battle scars in the practice room, "We can’t rule out the possibility that soone else was here."

After examining the skeleton and finding nothing of value, the two left the practice room and entered the final room.

Upon seeing the wide workbench in the room, both Sunan and Rose felt a renewed sense of excitent.

Clearly, this was a laboratory.

As a place for a Wizard (or apprentice) to conduct experintal research, this room usually housed the Wizard’s (or apprentice’s) experintal notes.

Without a study discovered, the notes in the laboratory might be the most valuable things in this cave.
