As soon as Sunan stepped into the courtyard, he saw the ground littered with densely packed skeletons.
The pale skeletons lay haphazardly on the ground, easily numbering over a hundred.
Upon closer inspection, he could see tiny bite marks on the bones, seemingly left by so small creature.
Scattered fragnts of fabric also remained on the ground, faintly recognizable as the Star Map Cloak unique to the Starfire Sect.
"...Looks like soone beat to it."
Doubt flashed in Sunan’s eyes.
Besides him, who else had such enmity with the Starfire Sect that they would attack the headquarters?
Though puzzled, Sunan didn’t slow down and quickly continued inside.
Along the way, he saw more and more pale skeletons. Judging by the battle marks around, the intruders were extrely powerful; the sect mbers barely put up any resistance, it was a one-sided massacre.
Upon entering the backyard, Sunan finally heard the sounds of a battle ahead.
He slowed his steps, quietly moving forward.
In the wide atrium, a fierce battle was taking place.
On one side were hundreds of Starfire Sect mbers, forming a semicircular defensive formation backed against a building.
On the other side, to Sunan’s surprise, was a swarm of insects.
They looked a bit like bees, but their heads were round mouthparts filled with dense sharp teeth, sowhat eerie to behold.
Though these insects were small, about the size of an egg, they moved incredibly swiftly and their teeth were extrely sharp, able to gnaw a conspicuous notch in the sect mbers’ armor with a single bite.
Sunan understood how the bite marks on the bones ca about.
These people were skinned and devoured alive by the insects before him.
"Wizard Apprentice?"
Sunan’s eyes narrowed slightly.
There was no mistaking it; these insects seed like the work of the Wizard Apprentice.
At that mont, a buzzing sound suddenly rose, and another swarm of insects flew in from another atrium entrance.
Faced with this scene, the sect mbers showed expressions of despair.
They were barely holding on as it was, and now another terrifying swarm of insects appeared—it was simply adding insult to injury.
But what happened next took them by surprise.
The swarm did not fly towards them but instead charged towards another entrance of the atrium with great montum.
"We’ve been discovered!"
Sunan frowned, imdiately opening his mouth to unleash a massive sound wave.
Shattering Sound Wave!
A visible, whirling wave roared forth like a projectile, tearing through the swarm, leaving nurous insects shredded.
The originally dense swarm seed forcibly scooped out, leaving a blank space.
Sunan then waved his hand, sending a large fla surging forth, incinerating the remaining insects completely.
With the attack, Sunan erged from his state of invisibility, revealing his form.
The Starfire Sect mbers nearby were dumbfounded.
The swarm which they barely managed to fend off had been effortlessly exterminated by this mysterious figure—it all felt like a dream.
A figure of seemingly higher status among the crowd quickly recognized Sunan, exclaiming:
"Sunan!"
The group of sect mbers shuddered, their gaze towards Sunan changed instantly.
This man was Sunan?
The one who single-handedly dismantled the military setup of Hulan Province and killed Ovijou’s high priest, the Wizard?
The crowd secretly lanted.
Not only was their current enemy difficult to deal with, now another formidable adversary appeared—it seed truly hopeless today.
Sunan ignored the sect mbers’ reaction, turning to look at the atrium entrance diagonally opposite.
"Co out, no need to hide."
A low laugh echoed, as a gray-robed man erged from the corner.
Gazing at the newcor’s face, Sunan couldn’t help but frown slightly.
Just because the person’s appearance was exceedingly abstract.
It looked as if a human face was lded with an insect’s, a blend of hideous and grotesque yet sowhat disgusting, enough to make one’s sanity wane.
The exposed gray-white skin occasionally bulged and twisted, as if sothing underneath was wriggling.
"A Wizard Apprentice fused with so insect beast bloodline."
Sunan understood slightly.
"No wonder you’re able to kill Ovijou’s Wizard Apprentice, you truly have so tricks."
The gray-robed man’s eyes, akin to insect compound eyes, gazed coldly at Sunan.
"You’re here for the Divine Remains too, aren’t you."
Divine Remains?
Sunan’s expression changed.
Was this the reason behind the Starfire Sect possessing Divine Blood and Holy Artifact?
But exactly where did this person co from, and how did he know the sect’s secret?
Thoughts whirled in Sunan’s mind, but his expression remained unchanged as he said lightly, "What if I am?"
The gray-robed man’s mouth stretched into a frightening arc, showing a peculiar smile.
"Then it’s unfortunate, we insist on obtaining the Starfire Sect’s Divine Remains."
Eternal Life Association?
A Wizard Apprentice’s organization?
If true, then the na indicated these Wizard Apprentices had grand ambitions.
"Trying to ’pick the peach’?" Sunan sneered.
It’s no exaggeration to say that Sunan alone dismantled the Starfire Sect, and this so-called Eternal Life Association’s Wizard Apprentice did nothing, yet now appeared to seize the fruits of his labor. How could he tolerate such a thing?
"So you’re not going to give up?" The gray-robed man chuckled.
Without hesitation, Sunan fired a Magic Missile.
