The entire hall looked sowhat similar to the control center at the top floor of the Dragon Remains Tower, only more spacious, with nurous intersecting seams on the walls that vaguely sketched out long rectangles close to the floor, seemingly closed doors.
The ceiling was at least a hundred ters from the ground, embedded with countless precious Eternal Pearls, making the entire hall extraordinarily bright.
Just as Sunan was observing the hall, a voice suddenly ca from the void.
[Detected entrant, starting scan!]
[Scan complete, entrant is a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice, ets inheritance conditions, now initiating inheritance procedure!]
[Welco to the Starry Tower, Wizard Apprentice!]
In the void about ten ters in front of Sunan, a sudden brightness appeared, and an apparition erged out of thin air.
It was a gray-white flesh ball as tall as a person, its surface covered in nurous mouths, with sharp teeth faintly visible inside.
At that mont, hundreds of mouths opened and closed simultaneously, emitting a slightly chanized monotonous voice.
[I am the Tower Spirit of the Starry Tower, and also the examiner presiding over the trial.]
[According to the rules of the Starry Tower, all entrants are granted the opportunity to challenge the trial. If successful, one will receive the inheritance reward. Would you like to attempt the challenge?]
Sunan did not answer imdiately but curiously scrutinized the flesh ball that claid to be the Tower Spirit.
Without much thought, he knew that the so-called Tower Spirit was a fake, likely the creator’s boast.
Tower Spirits are extrely precious; even if a Wizard left an inheritance a thousand years ago, they wouldn’t possibly abandon a Tower Spirit in such a place.
Moreover, the tone of the flesh ball’s speech also couldn’t hide its dullness and chanical feel, indicating low intelligence, perhaps only slightly better than Butler No. 1 of the Dragon Forest.
But then again, the taste of the Starry Tower’s creator is truly hard to describe, designing the appearance of auxiliary intelligent life into such a bizarre form.
Silently ridiculing to himself, Sunan said loudly:
"Challenge!"
The flesh ball was silent for a second or two, and its surface mouths opened and closed once more.
[Matching trial!]
[Match successful. Based on the challenger’s age and realm, the trial difficulty is set to the highest level!]
[Friendly reminder, the trial consists of three stages, please complete them within ninety days, or it will be considered a failure!]
[Now starting the first stage, knowledge assessnt!]
As the voice fell, a flash of light and shadow appeared before Sunan, and suddenly ten virtual silhouettes erged.
[Please choose three out of the following ten materials to elaborate on their na, efficacy, growth environnt, etc. The information density and accuracy must et certain standards.]
Listening to the voice in his ear, looking at the virtual images in front of him, Sunan inexplicably felt a sense of nostalgia.
It was much like the scene when he took exams at the Wizard Academy in his past life.
"I didn’t expect to have to take an exam here as well."
After a mont of sentint, Sunan focused back on the assessnt before him.
Among the ten materials were magic plants, rare tals, and various other strange objects.
Sunan took a glance and understood instantly.
These materials, though not extinct, were very rare on the Starlight Continent today.
They could probably only be found in so ancient texts.
For other Wizard Apprentices, it might be sowhat difficult, but for him, it was exceedingly simple.
Without hesitation, Sunan directly pointed to the seemingly inconspicuous dried yellow grass on the far right and began to answer.
"Resurrection Grass, an extrely cold-resistant magic plant, mostly grows in harsh environnts such as ice fields, volcanic areas, and miasma swamps. Its most famous ability is to resurrect from near-total desiccation, possessing a strong variability to adapt to harsh survival conditions, often leading to certain evolutionary mutations, resulting in many branches."
"Resurrection Grass contains powerful vitality, which can slightly increase lifespan when consud directly, and can also be used to make potions, being one of the main materials of the Dawn Potion."
[Passed.]
Sunan was not surprised, and moved his finger lightly to the second material.
It was a material that appeared as a small silver-white sapling, but was actually tallic.
The tallic surface of the leaves shimred with radiant starlight, extrely beautiful.
"Star Silver Soul, a rare tal, requires two conditions for its growth environnt: first, there must be veins nearby; second, it must be exposed to moonlight, and it has very stringent requirents for energy particle concentration."
"The ductility and magic conductivity of Star Silver Soul are superior to Mithril, and can be used to create magical items or craft puppets."
Without waiting for the flesh ball to speak, Sunan pointed to the third crystal-clear irregular crystal and said:
"Dragon Crystal, a peculiar crystal ford occasionally from the corpse of the deceased Dragon Race, embodying the essence of the entire dragon body; it has extensive uses for cultivating Magical Pets, Biological Transformation, creating magical items, or crafting puppets."
[Passed.]
A hint of a smile appeared on Sunan’s face; this type of material identification problem posed no difficulty to him.
Buzz!
Ten more virtual silhouettes erged, this ti replaced by ten kinds of strangely shaped creatures.
[Please choose three out of the following ten creatures to elaborate on their na, growth environnt, biological characteristics, etc. The information density and accuracy must et certain standards.]
"Is it identifying creatures this ti?"
Sunan remained composed, his gaze falling on the jellyfish on the left emitting a faint blue glow.
The jellyfish was white and umbrella-shaped, with a multitude of eyes, about 24 in number, scattered on its head, making one’s scalp tingle upon close inspection.
"Umbrella Jellyfish, gregarious creatures, usually live in deep-sea waters, highly toxic, its internal organs can be used to make potions, and its venom can be used as enchantnt material."
Following that, Sunan also selected the second creature, the Demonized Eel, and the Throat Lock Monster, elaborating on their information in turn.
As expected, the flesh ball gave a [Passed] evaluation.
Easily clearing another round.
"What’s the next identification? Bring it on."
Sunan smiled confidently.
But the erging virtual image surprised him, as it was a book.
[Master the spell and successfully cast it once]
Is it learning a spell?
Sunan raised an eyebrow in surprise, but then felt slightly relieved.
A spell usually involves ten to dozens of subjects, and many spells are interconnected.
Generally speaking, the more knowledgeable a Wizard (Apprentice) is, the easier it is to learn spells.
High-level Wizards can usually master a low-tier spell in a short ti not only because of high spiritual power but more due to their breadth and depth of knowledge far exceeding that of Wizard Apprentices.
It’s like a Ph.D. solving grade-school problems – effortless.
Sunan briefly perused the book; its content was a Tier Zero Magic known as the ’Bone Arrow’ spell.
He recalled that in the collection of Magic Books he had gathered so far, this spell wasn’t among them.
If nothing unexpected, it should be a self-created spell by the builder of the Starry Tower.
It makes sense too, as an exam must provide a spell unavailable outside, to prevent any challenger from conveniently knowing the spell, thus leading to unfairness.
"Tier Zero Magic."
Sunan smiled.
Under normal circumstances, a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice learning a Tier Zero Magic would take at least twenty to thirty days to master.
But he was different; with his golden finger, more than three days would be too much.
Gathering his thoughts, Sunan began to peruse the book.
[Reading the ’Bone Arrow Spell Model,’ ’Bone Arrow’ learning progress 0.15%]
The spell learning progressed faster than Sunan anticipated, almost prompting a progress notification every few minutes.
In just two short days, Sunan successfully mastered the Tier Zero Magic called Bone Arrow.
When the notification erged, he closed the book, extended a single finger, and a pale, sharp bone arrow condensed out of thin air, hitting the wall in the distance.
With a clang, the bone arrow shattered, leaving the wall unhard.
[Passed.]
[Successfully passed the first stage.]
