"Xu Lin, my military training ends on Wednesday!"
Today is Sunday.
Yu Xinyan’s military training lasts twenty days.
"Then I can go back to school!"
Then Yu Xinyan sent a selfie to Xu Lin.
"Did I get tanned?"
"No, you look the sa as before."
"Hmm, hmm."
Yu Xinyan was quite happy, and as the end of military training approached, her excitent grew.
Yu Xinyan said, "Xu Lin, I’ll co and find you then, okay!"
Xu Lin replied, "I’ll co pick you up then, you’re not familiar with Jiangdu."
Yu Xinyan had traveled with her family before, but she had never been out on her own.
Unlike Yu Xinyan, Xu Lin was used to being independent.
Yu Jianhua also asked him to take good care of Yu Xinyan. Although Xu Lin sotis called him Bastard, he actually respected Yu Jianhua a lot.
In fact, over the past few days, Yu Jianhua had frequently ssaged Xu Lin, asking him to keep an eye on Yu Xinyan’s situation.
Even if separated by hundreds of kiloters, the father was still worried about his precious daughter.
Yu Xinyan: "Hmm, hmm!"
Xu Lin: "How’s it going with your roommates?"
Yu Xinyan: "Pretty good, I’m well-behaved!"
"It’s good that you’re getting along well."
Xu Lin thought he’d go over and take a look, see how Yu Xinyan’s roommates were doing.
Yu Xinyan hadn’t made many friends before. During her six years from junior high to high school, her relationship with female classmates was hardly more than superficial — at first, so girls wanted to hang out with her, but later on, none did because Yu Xinyan was not sociable.
It’s not that Xu Lin felt everyone must be sociable, but in a university dormitory collective environnt, you had to at least manage basic roommate relationships; poor interactions could be very problematic.
The two of them chatted for another ten minutes or so.
It was past ten o’clock, and Xu Lin spent another hour on his two outlines.
Each of these two outlines already exceeded 30,000 words, and Xu Lin planned to add another 10,000 words to each to complete them.
By the end of the month, he’d co out with two more outlines.
He aid to finish ten outlines this year, which ant seven more after the current two and one from Toutuo.
Around twelve o’clock, Xu Lin went to sleep.
However, at this point, Xie Zhengrong and the other two hadn’t gone to bed yet.
But that didn’t affect Xu Lin who could fall asleep imdiately.
The night passed without word.
On Monday, the new term officially started.
The first class was University English, and the second was Microeconomics.
In the morning, Xu Lin and Xie Zhengrong arrived at the classroom, and Xu Lin found a seat at the back.
He glanced around and noticed Rong Xiyan was surprisingly in the front row.
Xu Lin imdiately ssaged: "Why are you in the front row? Are you secretly studying without telling ?"
Rong Xiyan: "Birds and fish never travel the sa path!"
Rong Xiyan: "I’m destined not to be with soone like you who is falling behind!"
Xu Lin: "Then I’ll continue my sober decline!"
Rong Xiyan: "Ha!"
"Hey, I’m here!"
Just then, Zhao Liangchen took a seat nearby.
Zhao Liangchen asked, "Hey, are you interested in joining the Freshn’s Art Night? It’s the third day after National Day holidays."
"Nah, not interested."
Without a triggered task, Xu Lin wasn’t keen on participating.
"That’s such a pity, I can’t enjoy your lodious singing!"
"Your rap has so much intensity, you’re bound to shine then."
"I’m not as amazing as you are."
Zhao Liangchen had a curly afro and wore flashy clothes; although Xu Lin understood the rap style, he couldn’t quite accept it.
Soon English class started, and the English teacher was a young lady, wearing a blue shirt and a white pencil skirt, with high heels, not exactly pretty, but quite charming. As the saying goes: sotis beauty is a feeling.
Xu Lin noticed that even Zhao Liangchen, who had been playing with his phone earlier, started paying attention.
Moreover, he amazingly introduced himself fluently in English.
Xu Lin just introduced himself in Mandarin because he couldn’t speak any English.
Before the official lecture started, the English teacher asked everyone to make self-introductions.
"What was your college entrance exam score?"
Xu Lin couldn’t resist asking.
"644 points, I underperford a bit, my actual goal was Transport University!"
Zhao Liangchen felt quite regretful, "I scored over 665 in the three mock exams, but my entrance exam score was unexpectedly low, dropping my school ranking from the original top 50 to more than 60. Later, I found out it wasn’t the test paper’s problem, it was my performance."
"Aweso!"
Xu Lin almost thought the other was a slacker too; after all, how many rappers weren’t slackers?
But Xu Lin thought about it carefully and realized it was because his own grades were too poor, so he forgot this was a top-tier university filled with academic elites. In an average high school, they would easily excel; in a prestigious one, they were at least above average.
"What about you?"
Zhao Liangchen casually asked again; he was Xu Lin’s first admirer at university.
Firstly, Xu Lin’s physique was particularly amazing, sothing Zhao Liangchen aspired to achieve.
Noteworthy is that on Saturday Zhao Liangchen had already gotten a gym mbership at the gym opposite the school, but he wasn’t the type to buy a mbership and then slack off with no willpower. Instead, he started working out from day one, exercising both days over the weekend, and planned to continue after classes today, dedicating two hours a day to fitness, with a two-day interval for rest each week.
Secondly, Xu Lin’s singing was impressive, and as soone else who sang rap, Zhao Liangchen clearly found a kindred spirit.
