"What’s different?"
Xu Lin knowingly asked.
"It’s the aura and presence, suddenly becoming very special, even a bit unfamiliar."
"Not really."
Xu Lin didn’t admit it either.
Soon, led by Chen Yuhe, Xu Lin and the others entered the private room.
The private room wasn’t particularly special, but it was quite large, with a big round table inside. The seat of honor was already occupied by Chi Linyue’s grandfather.
On his left was Chi Linyue’s brother, Chi Longting, and next to him was his wife, the pregnant woman Xu Lin had saved earlier, Zhao Yingqiong. Her belly was now very large, seemingly about to give birth. Xu Lin saved her in early August; now it’s almost November, roughly three months ago.
Chi Longting saw his wife’s savior and promptly stood up to greet, "Xu Lin, co, sit here!"

Chi Longting gestured to the seat next to his wife.
Xu Lin was just about to sit down.
But the old man at the main seat, Chi Linyue’s grandfather, spoke up.
Chi Lingri gently patted the seat next to him and said, "Xu, co sit by this old man!"
Chen Yuhe was surprised because this seat was usually taken by her husband, Chi Linyue’s father.
Of course, he wasn’t here now.
Xu Lin wasn’t intimidated; he said a word to Chi Longting and walked over to sit beside Chi Lingri.
Once Xu Lin sat down, Chi Lingri reached out and patted his shoulder.
"You have a strong energy about you!"
Chi Lingri smiled with an appreciative look in his eyes.
Xu Lin: "You’re too kind!"
Chi Lingri had his eyes on Xu Lin the mont he walked in, or rather, his gaze was drawn to Xu Lin the mont he stepped in.

The old man would not complint soone so easily.

The dinner lasted over an hour,
It wasn’t any rare delicacy, but the food was quite expensive; they had top chefs from a prestigious hotel, and though the dishes weren’t mind-blowingly tasty, they definitely had a great appearance, aroma, and flavor.
Xu Lin wasn’t shy; he ate and drank as he pleased.
When they left, it was already past eight in the evening, and it was dark outside.
Chi Longting walked Xu Lin out, while Chi Linyue stayed behind as her grandfather wanted to chat for a few minutes.
Xu Lin went downstairs first.
Chi Longting took out a pack of cigarettes, "Want one? It’s good stuff my dad brought back from the Capital City; you can’t buy it outside."
Xu Lin glanced at it and had no idea what brand it was. The cigarette pack was clean, without any flashy logos or even health warnings, which were standard on market cigarette packs.
And this pack’s design was indeed clean, no indication of where it was made.
"I’ll take one."
Xu Lin wasn’t unfamiliar with cigarettes; his dad smoked, and he had tried it back in elentary school, though he didn’t enjoy it as the taste was off-putting and he was only curious back then.
Xu Lin took a cigarette and just put it in his mouth when Chi Longting lit it for him with a lighter.
This cigarette had quite a fresh taste, not harsh.
Chi Longting watched Xu Lin, increasingly convinced of his extraordinary bearing, astonished, never having seen anyone with an aura like his.
Chi Longting flicked his cigarette ash and said with a smile, "It’s not easy for to smoke these days, can only have one occasionally. As you know, my wife is pregnant. I haven’t quit altogether, but I smoke much less now."
"Boy or girl?"
"A daughter!"
"Congratulations!"
"Planning for a second child next year or later, haha."
Chi Longting laughed, "In my kind of family, you need both a son and a daughter, a house full of children and grandchildren."
"I understand."
In such wealthy families, having just one or two children isn’t enough, and having a son is essential; otherwise, there’s no one to inherit the family’s vast assets.
The two chatted for a few more minutes before Chi Linyue ca downstairs.
Chi Linyue saw Xu Lin holding a cigarette, smoking with Chi Longting.
Chi Linyue frowned and imdiately scolded, "Chi Longting, why are you letting him smoke?"
Chi Longting coughed awkwardly, "It’s just n being n, having a smoke once in a while is no big deal."
"Xu Lin, put out the cigarette."
Xu Lin could only put out the remaining half cigarette in a nearby trash can.
Chi Linyue then told Chi Longting, "You need to quit smoking; you’re a father now, don’t affect the child!"
