"Do you want to play the piano?"
Chi Linyue was puzzled.
"I’ll give it a try."
"Can you play?"
Chi Linyue was curious.
"After watching you play, I think I’ve grasped a little."
"Hmm... then give it a try!"
Chi Linyue was surprised, but stood up and made room for Xu Lin.
"What was the na of the piano piece just now?"
"Beethoven’s ’Moonlight Sonata,’ the first movent."
Chi Linyue added.
Xu Lin nodded slightly.
He sat in front of the piano, placed his hands on the keys, and took a mont to gather his emotions.
"What is the style of the first movent?"
Before playing, Xu Lin turned around and asked.
"It’s serene yet tinged with sadness, overall that’s how it is," Chi Linyue thought for a mont and said.
Xu Lin understood, gathered his emotions, and after about ten seconds, started playing.
Xu Lin’s first attempt was not very familiar, but he played with a decent form; overall, it was just a bit inferior compared to Chi Linyue’s rendition.
Soon, he finished the first playthrough.
Chi Linyue asked from the side, "Did you learn piano before?"
"When I was a child, my mom enrolled in an interest class, I learned for a few days, but it can’t really be counted as learning."
"So you’re learning it again now?"
"Yes."
"Little boy, it’s not good to fool your sister like this!"
"Not really, I have no interest in deceiving girls."
Xu Lin smiled, "Let try again; I was getting familiar with it just now, now I can go one step further."
"Mm-hmm, I’m listening."
Chi Linyue was quite intrigued.
So Xu Lin began his second playthrough.
In the room, the serene and lancholic music resounded again, causing Chi Linyue’s emotions to beco a bit unsettled.
This ti, Chi Linyue was amazed because Xu Lin indeed played better than the first ti, not even much worse than her who was already piano grade ten.
Although piano grade ten is not very high, dostically there are still performance levels above it, with levels one, two, three, and special grade topping it off; however, the classification of piano levels varies internationally.
Soon, the second attempt was over.
"You played better!"
Chi Linyue was very surprised.
"I can play even better the third ti!"
"Then I want to hear the third ti!"
Chi Linyue began to expectantly.
Moving on to the third attempt, Xu Lin’s first playthrough was for familiarization, the second for reinforcent and improvent, and the third was effortless.
Of course, there would be a fourth attempt too, which would be perfect mastery.
He had a cheat, an extraordinary mory, and a learning talent, allowing him to easily master a skill.
With piano or other musical instrunts, skills that are but embellishnts to him, easily mastered without much use, reaching a master’s level wasn’t sothing he considered, since he wasn’t in that field, there was no need at all.
Xu Lin played both the third and fourth attempts consecutively.
Especially during the fourth ti, the music, sad yet heavenly, further touched Chi Linyue’s soul, leaving her sorrowful and unable to vent; even after the fourth ti ended, she hadn’t quite recovered and took a long ti to calm down.
Chi Linyue couldn’t achieve that level with her piano playing skills.
She felt, Xu Lin’s skill had already reached the performance level.
With the fourth attempt’s conclusion, Chi Linyue was no longer calm.
"Xu Lin, did you learn piano very well before? Are you deliberately fooling now?"
"Yes, I’m deliberately fooling you, trying to charm you!"
Xu Lin suddenly laughed.
"Get lost!"
Chi Linyue, on the contrary, believed that Xu Lin had just learned the piano because he didn’t refute and humorously went along with her thoughts.
Chi Linyue just thought Xu Lin had learned it recently.
"How are you so amazing?"
"The brain!"
Xu Lin pointed to his head.
"The brain?"
"How about you play another movent? I’ll learn it and show you."
"So, should I play it once or twice?"
"Twice, once for mory, and twice for recollection."
"Mm-hmm, then I’ll play it twice!"
Chi Linyue also wanted to see Xu Lin’s ability.
This ti, Chi Linyue sat back down, "This ti I’ll play the third movent. The second movent is a transition, relatively gloomy, which I don’t like much, so I won’t play it. The third movent’s style is not as lancholic as the first movent, nor as somber as the second; it is passionate and full of strength, a bit hasty, of course, a bit more difficult too. I studied it for a long ti before! But I only know the ’Moonlight Sonata,’ I don’t really know other piano pieces, and learning piano is particularly hard..."
Chi Linyue spoke for a while, then, after preparing emotionally, she started playing the third movent.
The third movent was indeed much more rapid, in style, vibrant and powerful.
This movent, Chi Linyue played twice.
Finished, Chi Linyue turned back to Xu Lin, "How do you feel?"
"I think I’m ready!"
Chi Linyue made space for Xu Lin again.
Just like the first movent, the first ti, Xu Lin familiarized himself, the second playthrough matched Chi Linyue, the third, effortless playing surpassed Chi Linyue, and the fourth, perfection was reached.
The passionate and powerful piano sound filled the entire piano room, making Chi Linyue feel a surge of enthusiasm, even a bit excited.
As the fourth attempt concluded, Xu Lin finally stopped his hands, while Chi Linyue still felt her interest unsatisfied.
"How do you play so well?"
Chi Linyue was very shocked, no longer doubting that Xu Lin learned on the spot, such an astonishing learning ability left Chi Linyue unsettled.
