Now reading: Chapter 695 - 77: Busy Xu Lin, New Rewards, Brain Domain Dev from System: Master Your Life, a Fantasy novel by Observe the Sky Leaf.

Xu Lin quickly arrived at the community where Shang Wanjun lived.

This community is quite new, and the environnt looks very nice.

Following the building and room number given by Shang Wanjun, Xu Lin reached his destination in about ten minutes.

He also saw Shang Wanjun, who was waiting for him at the door.

"Is this newly renovated?"

"Yes, it’s the first rental after renovation."

"Did you check for formaldehyde or anything like that? New renovations can easily be ’chain rentals,’ living here for a long ti could cause health issues."

Young people who have just entered society don’t understand; when renting, they often choose places that look beautifully renovated, but that’s the scariest part. It’s easy to encounter ’chain rentals’ and prolonged stay can cause health problems.

"It’s been checked, no problem, and the renovation was completed half a year ago."

"That’s okay then."

Generally speaking, after half a year of airing, formaldehyde and such are mostly volatilized.

Shang Wanjun closed the door.

Xu Lin started to stroll around on the first floor.

The area is decent, an entire floor looks like it’s over thirty square ters, making two floors around seventy square ters.

The floor is no longer tiled as last ti, but sandalwood-colored wooden floors that look shiny and polished, with tiles only in the kitchen and bathroom.

Shang Wanjun led him upstairs.

There are two bedrooms and a small living room.

One of the rooms has only a bed and nothing else.

In contrast, Shang Wanjun’s room, besides the bed and wardrobe, has a computer desk and a bookshelf filled with various books by Shang Wanjun. The whole room is cozy and clean.

"The environnt here is much better than last ti."

Xu Lin sat in front of the computer.

The environnt here is very nice, with the computer facing the floor-to-ceiling window, offering a view of the street outside. Yes, the greenery here is okay, and one can look outside when tired from working at the computer, and there is sunlight streaming in on regular occasions.

Shang Wanjun’s previous apartnt, although it had windows, they didn’t face the sun. And because the landlord upstairs had gray wooden floors, the house felt dark and oppressive.

This place is much better.

At this mont, Xu Lin clicked the mouse, and the computer screen lit up.

Then, Xu Lin saw two pages.

One was a Word docunt; Shang Wanjun was writing a new novel.

The other was a player page; Shang Wanjun was watching a movie.

You know the kind of movie.

Currently paused.

Xu Lin clicked play, and imdiately, stimulating sounds echoed through the speakers.

"What type is it this ti?"

"Teacher-student," Shang Wanjun replied.

"That’s quite exciting."

However, what’s on the screen can only be said to be posing as teacher-student, as the male protagonist looks older than the female protagonist.

Xu Lin skipped through a few scenes, finding it dull, then paused it.

He focused on Shang Wanjun’s new novel, spending so ti reading it.

This ti it’s a modern urban-style novel, about a female protagonist coming to a university as a teacher, then eting a male student, and they encounter several events.

It’s not finished yet; the further developnts are unknown.

"So this ti you’re writing about a teacher-student romance?"

"Yes."

"If you want to publish it, it might not pass; publication reviews are quite strict, anything that violates public order or decency won’t be published."

A teacher-student romance is a red line, even if it involves a university teacher. Many people find it exciting or even romantic, but in reality, it’s not because university teachers hold academic authority. For instance, if a female student is writing a thesis and her advisor fancies her, she’ll have to comply if asked to, or her thesis might get blocked — equating to not graduating. This is academic authority.

Before the internet was as developed as it is now, there were many such examples, and many suffered consequences followed by a series of problems. Therefore, teacher-student romance is not romantic because certain elents can blur the lines, much like how prostitution can’t be legalized; if it’s legalized, it becos a large industry chain that forces many into prostitution — the evils of human nature are unpredictable.

Shang Wanjun said, "Actually, I’m trying to explore the conflict between public order, decency, and human emotions, contemplating the struggle of human emotions between public order, traditional morals, etc. Third-rate works write stories, second-rate works have a certain level of thought and exploration, while first-rate works focus on characters, such as the Four Great Classic Novels and Lu Xun’s works, which not only possess captivating stories and profound thoughts but also feature many excellent round characters. Thus, they are called first-rate works. Second-rate works, like Mo Yan’s, one of which even won a Nobel Prize, but his works lack morable characters, so Mo Yan is inferior to Lu Xun."

"You’ve thought deeply about this; I think it’s a good approach."

Xu Lin felt that she was quite ambitious.

"Yes, I want to write sothing aningful."

Shang Wanjun sat on the edge of the bed, looking at Xu Lin in front of her.

At this mont, the wind blew in from outside the window, ssing up Xu Lin’s hair.

"Actually, I’ve modeled my male protagonist on you," she said.

"Really."

Xu Lin brushed his hair, styling it back, looking a bit pretentious.

"Yes, it makes the imrsion better. In the book, I imagine being with you — you’re passionately impulsive, whereas I am restrained and calm. But as ti passes, my restraint gradually wanes, ultimately succumbing, turning into a slave to emotions."

Shang Wanjun asked him, "Xu Lin, do you think there really exists a genuine liking for soone in this world?"

"Are you trying to explore philosophical aspects or worldly ones?"

Xu Lin realized the question Shang Wanjun wanted to discuss wasn’t one that ordinary people would ask.

"Let’s explore both."
