Now reading: Chapter 119: It was said more than once from System Mission: Seduce the Final Boss [BL], a Yaoi novel by Ninishe.

Looking at the pictures he and Myles had taken together, Blake felt nothing but panic brewing inside him.

Looking out the window, the scenery was starting to turn more rural.

Which ant he was close to Alendrei City now.

Ba-dump.

Taking out his phone, Blake opened their chat again. Myles told him to text him when he was at least an hour away from coming back, so that’s what he did.

Get ready to see !

Definitely, he sounded far more confident than he actually was.

Just maybe, he could distract himself with sothing more interesting...

"Love tracker."

He whispered under his breath, coughing.

The map popped up in front of him.

Lo and behold, Myles was out of the city, almost at the outskirts of the country, actually.

However, around a minute later, he started moving closer and closer to Alendrei.

Blake imdiately wrote down on his phone where Myles had stopped, just to use it later, in case he decided to infiltrate one of his bases again...

’Alright, uh, he’s basically already there! What will he even do, spend a full hour waiting for ...?’

Shutting the tracker down, Blake decided to lay back, sliding down his sleeves.

Even if the bruises near his shoulders were still a little yellow, at least his forearms looked okay enough.

’Jesus, what am I even so anxious about? He won’t notice it! I’ve even practiced walking in the best way possible. Last ti, he sohow managed to notice my wonky leg...’

In any case, what risked exposing him the most was his foot, which was still slightly purple.

Still, even then, he could throw together an excuse.

Closing his eyes, Blake could do nothing but think of him.

***

"Before, I said I could never hurt you."

"...don’t cry."

***

Slowly opening his eyes, he found himself surprised.

In his mind, it had only been a second, but as he sat up and rubbed his eyes, they were five minutes away from the spot where he was supposed to be dropped off.

’Damn, I wasn’t planning on sleeping! Ack, that hour was ant for ntal preparation!’

Crutching his head, he sighed heavily.

"Young master, we’re here."

"Ah, yeah." He nodded, tremblingly. "Thanks for the ride."

Grabbing his backpack, he got off the car.

They planned on eting at Myles’ house.

For the first ti, Blake looked like the least insistent one.

Obviously, calling Myles insistent was massively pushing it, but still...

The walk wasn’t too long.

The driver had actually agreed to drop him off pretty close to Myles’ house, so there wasn’t much distance left to cover.

At first, Blake forced himself to walk normally.

The keyword being: forced.

Because minutes passed and, by the ti he was only five minutes away, he was practically speed-walking.

Then almost jogging.

’Okay, okay, calm down.’

His heart wasn’t listening too well.

’Seriously, calm down.’

It only got worse.

His fingers curled around the strap of his backpack, as the corners of his lips kept twitching upward.

Every few seconds, he’d look ahead, then down at the ground, then ahead again.

As if Myles was going to magically appear in front of him if he checked enough tis.

Which, honestly, at this rate, maybe he would.

Ba-dump.

Ba-dump.

Ba-dump.

His steps beca quicker.

The apartnt building was only a little farther now.

Everything suddenly felt absurdly important

The cracked pavent near the corner store.

The old vending machine that had been broken for months.

Even the ugly apartnt block across the street.

They were all things he’d seen a hundred tis since he transmigrated into this world, things he normally wouldn’t spare a second glance.

Yet now they felt strangely precious.

Like proof that he was finally back.

A week.

It had only been a little more than a week.

A little more than a week, that wasn’t even long.

Right?

So why did it feel like his chest was about to explode? Why did it feel like he hadn’t breathed properly in days?

Of course, he hadn’t seen him since he infiltrated AFE, when he discovered a lot of scary things, and now that he was confused about how to help Myles, he had to face him again.

By all ans, he found himself happy, but there was, of course, a part of him that couldn’t help but be concerned about the future.

However, that worry disappeared before he could think too much about it.

Because he saw him.

Blake stopped.

Not completely, since his body kept moving forward a step.

But then, he couldn’t help but freeze right there here, at the end of the sidewalk.

"Myles..."

For a second, neither of them moved.

"...Blake."

Blake smiled brightly, so much so that his cheeks hurt.

His stomach flipped.

Suddenly, Myles looked painfully real.

He wasn’t just a voice through a phone or a contact on a screen. Not soone Blake spent hours thinking about while staring at a ceiling.

Just Myles, standing there.

His lips trembled.

His eyes widened.

And suddenly, all the anxiety he’d spent the entire ride cultivating disappeared, like it had never existed.

Myles started moving first, and pretty fast, too.

The sight was so unexpected Blake almost laughed.

Then, his own feet moved, and now he was running. The backpack bounced against his back, his leg protested, his foot hurt.

But he didn’t care, because the distance was disappearing quickly.

Ten ters.

Five.

Three.

And then, they crashed into each other.

Blake’s arms imdiately wrapped around Myles’ neck.

His fingers buried themselves in his hair.

Myles’ arms circled around his waist and back so tightly Blake nearly stumbled.

His face ended up pressed beside Blake’s neck.

For a mont, neither of them said anything.

They just held each other tightly, as if letting go would sohow make the other disappear.

And surprisingly, Blake wasn’t thinking.

There was no guilt or anxiety, no wondering whether he deserved this.

No thoughts about AFE.

No thoughts about the villa.

No thoughts about the future.

There was only a warm feeling within him, so warm that it made his chest ache and breathing difficult.

The kind that made him realize, all at once, just how much pressure he’d been carrying.

Pressure he hadn’t even noticed from the villa and from every single source of information confusing and worrying his judgent.

All of it lted away, right there, inside Myles’ arms.

His eyes started to sting.

Then more.

"..."

Embarrassingly enough, he almost started crying.

Not because he was sad, quite the complete opposite.

The feeling was simply too much.

His fingers tightened in Myles’ hair.

Myles’ hold tightened around his waist in return.

And they stayed like that for a while, long enough for Blake to completely lose track of ti.

Long enough that passing people definitely noticed.

Long enough that it should have beco awkward.

Yet sohow, it didn’t.

If anything, it looked like Myles was the one refusing to let go.

Not that he was exactly trying, either.

Eventually, Blake reached down and found one of the hands resting around his waist.

Taking it carefully.

Holding it.

The gesture seed to finally break whatever spell had settled over them.

Slowly and reluctantly, the hug loosened, then ended.

Both of them took a step back.

Blake imdiately laughed.

The kind he hadn’t heard from himself in a while.

"Hah..."

His hand squeezed Myles’.

"Were we being a little dramatic?"

Another squeeze.

"I an, it’s only been, what? A little more than a week."

Myles didn’t answer.

Instead, he simply stared at him.

"...um, what is it?"

Still nothing.

Just staring.

His hand reached up, warm fingers brushing against his cheek.

Blake froze.

The touch lasted only a second, maybe less.

Then, Myles let go and, without saying anything, he reached over and took Blake’s backpack.

"Hey... there’s no need for you to carry it, really!"

He simply adjusted the backpack on his shoulder and turned around, starting to walk toward the apartnt building, still holding Blake’s hand.

"..."

He stared, then looked down at their joined hands.

Then back at Myles.

Then down again.

"...okay."

The walk to the building felt strangely short.

Maybe because Blake spent most of it trying, and failing, not to smile.

By the ti they entered the apartnt, his cheeks hurt even more.

The familiar hallway greeted him.

Then they were finally inside.

The door clicked shut behind them.

Both of them bent down to remove their shoes.

The mont everything was finally put away, he straightened up.

Only for Myles to imdiately grab his hand again.

"Huh?"

Before he could process anything, he guided him toward the living room, toward the sofa.

Then sat down, pulling Blake onto his lap, making his brain completely stop functioning.

"...uh."

His face grew hotter very quickly.

Because, okay, this was a bit too much for his heart, considering they reunited a minute ago.

"..."

Blake stared at him.

Myles stared back.

And of course, that made it worse.

’This is a little overwhelming.’
