’This is unbelievable...’

Blake knew one thing for certain: Myles didn’t trust him. Not even a little. The problem was, he had no idea why. Or maybe... he just couldn’t read him at all.

Myles’ expression never changed. Always the sa flat, distant, impossible to interpret.

Blake let out a quiet sigh. Internally.

"Myles."

"Yes."

"...Are you free today?"

"Yes."

A brief pause.

"Then... do you want to co over?"

...

This wasn’t ideal. Blake shifted slightly, unease settling in. If not for the rain, he would’ve suggested sowhere public. A library, a café, anywhere with people around so that it wouldn’t get dangerous..

"To do what?" Myles asked.

Blake shrugged. "Up to you."

The bus slowed.

"So?" Blake glanced at him. "What do you think?"

Myles stood.

"Okay."

’...That’s it?’

Blake frowned faintly.

The more ti he spent with him, the less predictable he beca.

’What does a final villain even suggest for a hangout...? This feels way too easy.’

The rain only got worse.

Wind rattled the umbrella. Water hamred against the pavent.

Snap.

Blake stopped.

He stared at the twisted fra, one rib bent completely inside out.

’...You’ve got to be kidding .’

He turned away, trying, and failing, to keep his expression neutral.

"Don’t worry," he said, forcing it casual. "I’ll give you mine when you leave."

They walked the rest of the way soaked, sleeves damp, shoes heavy with water.

***

At the apartnt, Blake fumbled slightly with his keys before pushing the door open.

"Co in."

Myles stepped inside.

He didn’t look around.

But he didn’t need to.

’Yeah... he’s definitely taking everything in.’

Even without moving his eyes much, Myles wasn’t the type to miss details.

Blake kicked off his shoes. "Sit."

Myles did with absolutely no hesitation.

’...Already comfortable, huh. Not like when I first went to his place.’

Blake grabbed a glass of water from the kitchen and handed it over.

"Here."

Myles took it.

Blake leaned back slightly. "So. What do you want to do?"

A beat.

"Play."

Blake blinked.

"...Play?"

For a second, he just stared.

Right.

He always forgot.

How normal Myles could sound when he wanted to.

"...What kind of ga?"

"Anything."

"That’s not helpful," Blake muttered, crouching by a cabinet. "Don’t complain if it’s boring."

He dug through the pile.

’Feels weird touching this stuff like it’s mine.’

"...This one?"

He pulled out a case.

The Mastery of Opening New Eyes.

Blake paused.

"...Seriously?"

A transmigration ga.

For a mont, he just looked at it.

Of course the original Blake had this.

"Guess we’re playing this."

They sat down on the floor after Blake got so snacks.

The console humd quietly.

Myles picked up the controller like he’d done it a thousand tis before.

Blake noticed.

"...Have you ever played?"

"I haven’t."

"...Then why are you holding it like that?"

Myles looked at his hands.

Then back at the screen.

’It wouldn’t hurt him to answer.’

A few minutes in and Blake was already going crazy.

He leaned forward. "Wait, wait! Don’t go there, that’s a trap."

Myles went there anyway and, of course, it was a trap.

Blake pointed at the screen. "See? I told you!"

Myles didn’t react. "You saw it too late."

"...I saw it before you walked into it!"

"You didn’t stop ."

Blake stared.

"...You ignored !"

"Mm."

Blake opened his mouth.

Closed it.

’Why am I arguing with the final boss? I must have a death wish.’

What should Akio do next?

1. Run and alert the village so that they can evacuate and survive.

2. Fight the one hundred monsters at the sa ti. ←

GA OVER

Blake paused the ga before it could restart again.

"...You read the dialogues, right?"

"Yes."

"Then why do you always choose the wrong one?"

"It’s interesting."

"But they get you killed."

Myles didn’t reply after that.

’What a psycho.’

...

During a boss fight—

"Dodge. Dodge. Dodge, why are you not dodging?!"

"Timing."

"You missed the timing!"

"Yes."

"...So dodge!"

Myles didn’t dodge.

The character died.

Blake dropped his head into his hands.

"...You definitely did that on purpose."

"No."

"You absolutely did that on purpose."

"No."

"...You’re laughing, aren’t you?"

"I’m not."

Blake slowly looked up.

Myles’ face was completely cold.

"...That’s worse." With a sigh, turned everything off. "This ti, I decide the ga."

But before even thinking of one...

"There’s a new rule."

Myles looked at him.

"No mysterious decisions without explanation."

There was no agreent to it, of course.

***

During cards—

Blake shuffled dramatically.

"Watch closely."

Myles watched.

Blake imdiately dropped half the deck.

"...That didn’t count."

"It did."

"It slipped!"

"It did."

Blake narrowed his eyes.

"...You’re enjoying this too much."

"I am not."

"You just admitted it, look at that face!"

"I didn’t."

Myles had the luxury to deny it with such a deadpan face.

***

When the stack almost collapses—

Blake froze mid-move.

"...If this falls, it’s your fault."

"I haven’t touched it."

"Your presence is stressing the structure."

"That’s not how physics works."

"It is today."

Myles placed his piece.

Perfectly stable.

Blake placed his and the whole thing collapsed instantly.

Silence.

’How embarrassing...’

***

During Monopoly escalation—

Blake stared at the board.

"...You’ve landed on my property four tis in a row."

"Yes."

"That’s statistically improbable."

"Yes."

"...Are you doing sothing?"

"No."

"...Are you sure?"

"Yes."

Blake leaned back slowly.

"...I feel like I’m becoming ntally challenged."

"You are just losing."

"That’s not the sa thing!"

***

Near the end of the three hours, Blake rubbed his eyes. "What even is your strategy?"

Myles answered imdiately.

"Win."

"...That’s not a strategy."

"It is."

"...That explains nothing."

"It’s working."

Blake stared at the board.

Then at him.

"You’re too silent."

Myles tilted his head slightly.

"You’re loud."

...

Three hours passed.

Just like that.

Ding.

Blake stilled.

[ Mission Complete. ]

’...He didn’t feel any hostility towards ? Wait, three hours passed already?’

He leaned back, exhaling.

"...That went by quicker than I thought."

Myles stood.

"I should go."

Blake glanced at the window.

Still raining.

"...Yeah."

He walked to the door, then paused.

The broken umbrella.

Right.

Blake grabbed his own and held it out.

"Take this."

Myles looked at it. Then at him.

"It’s alright, you’ll need it."

Blake shrugged. "I’m not going out. Bring it back next ti."

A short pause.

Myles took it.

"...Thanks."

"Bye bye." Blake nodded and opened the door.

Myles stepped out of the apartnt complex. The umbrella opened cleanly this ti.

Blake watched from his window for a mont.

Then shut it.

Silence settled over the apartnt.

"Why can’t I have more than three? It makes no sense!"

[ Dear Host, choose. ]

"Mhh..."

Fear is for the unloved had the lowest grade, but it actually cald him a few tis.

I’ll sneak for my lover had the highest grade so far and, quite frankly, that was it.

Blake raised an eyebrow. "Uh, okay, exchange it with the second one. So far it never ca in handy, Myles never thinks I’m right..."

[ Understood, Dear Host. ]

As he laid down on the bed, a heavy sigh left his mouth. ’I can’t understand why it’s giving this kind of skills.’

Yet he didn’t have to think for long, he fell asleep, not knowing what he would have to face next.
