Now reading: Chapter 57: Train Career Change from System: My Doomsday Train, a Sci-fi novel by Medieval Rabbit.

When the train reaches Level 3, it can start changing professions.

There are two available paths for changing professions.

The first path, "chanical Train."

As the na suggests, it’s a train made entirely of chanical components, just like the ones they have now, with high destructive power and requiring resource mining for upgrades.

The second path, "Flesh and Blood Train."

This type of train is quite unique as all its components are made of flesh and blood, such as "Flesh and Blood Spider Legs," which are not chanized spider legs but rather made of flesh and blood.

All components will be magically modified into "flesh and blood series components" at the Level 3 crafting station.

-

The special feature of this train is its strong regenerative ability.

If any component is damaged, it doesn’t need repair; it’ll quickly self-repair in a short ti. Furthermore, upgrading the train or its components doesn’t require resource mining, just the flesh and blood of monsters.

Constant monster slaying is needed.

The entire train looks like a Lovecraftian creature, with all sorts of flesh and blood-made components, even the carriages are made of flesh and blood.

Even the heavy machine gun will be magically modified into a flesh and blood version.

The chanical Train cannot carry flesh and blood series components, and vice versa for the Flesh and Blood Train.

...

After chatting for a while, the Level 3 Train Captain stopped showing up, leaving everyone to chatter excitedly about the future.

"..."

Chen Mang squinted slightly, absorbing the information from the Train Radio. Although the big shot didn’t fully explain the pros and cons of "Flesh and Blood Train" and "chanical Train," he could vaguely guess a bit.

It’s definitely not just the self-repairing after component damage.

For instance—

There must be exclusive components for both "Flesh and Blood Train" and "chanical Train."

Also, the early-stage upgrade speed of "Flesh and Blood Train" is definitely faster. Encountering a single Corpse Tide might upgrade several components, but the late-stage upgrade speed will surely slow down. After all, the number of monsters is limited, and although it’s unclear where they co from, they definitely don’t match the constantly refreshing resources that spawn randomly.

He requires high-grade resource mines, while the Flesh and Blood Train needs advanced monsters as flesh and blood supply.

For him, a Flesh and Blood Train is definitely not suitable; he needs enough resources to achieve unlimited upgrades, and there aren’t many high-level monsters for him to kill.

...

"Phew..."

Chen Mang took a deep breath and turned off the Train Radio, planning to sleep first, not knowing what the first stage would bring upon its initiation. But whatever happens, having a powerful enough train in this world is always the right move.

Currently, all aspects of the train are fine.

Except for insufficient offensive capabilities.

While "Train Blades" are good, they’re ultimately a lee tactic, usually a last resort for a train. He needs to quickly mine the iron ore, then move on to copper mining.

To produce enough heavy machine gun ammunition for a sense of security.

Once the train upgrades to Level 3 and has sufficient firepower, he can venture into high-level areas. High-level trains aren’t allowed in low-level areas, but low-level trains can enter high-level areas.

Of course...

Most wouldn’t go even if allowed; it’s akin to courting death. In the Tieling Wasteland, a Level 3 Cannibal Spider is already a mini-boss, but in high-level areas, Level 3 Cannibal Spiders are likely commonplace monsters.

On second thought.

In high-level areas, towering monsters over ten ters tall are everywhere, which is terrifying to think about. Better to finish mining all the resources in the Tieling Wasteland first.

In this way, he seems lucky, having crossed into a low-level area with opportunities to start from scratch. If he’d crossed into a high-level area, initial opportunities might have been elusive.

...

The next day.

At the crack of dawn, amidst the deafening DJ sounds, slaves began waking up to prepare for work.

anwhile, Chen Mang sat at the control deck, continuing his train crafting tasks for the day. His sole task for this period is to mine resources, build the train, and then set out on adventures.

The goal is clear.

However...

When he habitually glanced at the "Train Radio," he found the Train Radio abuzz again. A group of Level 2 Elite Monsters, "goblins," had appeared in the Tieling Wasteland.

A humanoid species, entirely green, with sharp ears, terrifying faces, and ard with swords, all being Level 2 monsters.

These Level 2 goblins were escorting a Level 1 goblin, carrying a golden pouch, from the edge of "Tieling Wasteland," crossing all the way to "Mohe Hill." Killing that Level 1 goblin would drop rare resources and potentially yield a yellow-grade Accessory Blueprint.

This news got many people excited.

One must know that yellow-grade Accessory Blueprints can be upgraded to Level 5, unlocking a Supermodel Effect.

Supermodel Effects are virtually never bad.

It’s just unknown what specific path these goblins are taking, only that it’s more than one group; there are many groups.

"..."

Chen Mang looked slightly puzzled at the screen beside the train control deck, where a line of pinned red text had appeared at the top of the screen at so unknown ti.

-

"Today, several groups of goblins will escort the Goblin rchant to Mohe Hill."

"Killing Goblin rchants will yield rare resources and a small chance to drop yellow-grade Accessory Blueprints. Among these Goblin rchants, there is one particularly wealthy rchant. Killing this incognito unknown Goblin rchant will result in greater rewards."

"And this incognito Goblin rchant chooses a more concealed route, almost undetectable."

-

"Seems a bit like... a mission posting?"

Chen Mang pondered with his chin in hand, noting that this world increasingly resembled a ga, even featuring random missions like escort robbery. Where did these goblins co from?

Why head to Mohe Hill?

He shook his head, not giving it much thought nor having any intention of participating, especially without specific coordinates. The Tieling Wasteland is vast, and aimlessly searching would take forever.

Besides, nothing about it seed appealing. Simply a Supermodel Effect, and he already has nine of those.

Is it really necessary...

In reality, the Supermodel Effects are just so-so, not exceptionally powerful, not enough to get excited about. Having many makes one accustod to it.

...

anwhile—

Deep beneath the wasteland, a short goblin was piloting a train fitted with a drill, consisting of three carriages, swiftly moving forward. The drill rotating at high speed in front of the train easily bored a tunnel for swift passage.

Inside the train, dozens of goblins with ferocious expressions wielding swords were sitting around a goblin dressed in a golden cloak.

"Hmph."

The goblin at the control desk sneered at the constantly flickering scarlet wanted warning on the screen, saying with a grim expression, "I don’t believe anyone can find at six kiloters underground."

"Foolish humans."
