Things were looking up but with Jason missing, sothing was missing in everyone.
However, Clentine had found a way to help Sam regain his sanity by acting as his anger and getting rid of the fragnt he had on him.
This was a few months back even though Sam still had his fits, he was more anchored to reality than he was a couple of months back and it was all thanks to Clentine.
She helped him by shaving off his beard and grooming him properly to look like himself.
Clentine was happy to be reunited with him but it didn’t feel like it was Sam she was talking to soone she had never t before.
"Are you okay, Sam? Do you need to get anything for you?" Clentine asked but Sam wasn’t paying attention, all he could think about was one thing and that was the fragnt.
"What did you do with it...? I need it, Clentine!" Sam blurted out in pain, it was like he was going through withdrawals.
However, Clentine knew it was in his best interest and didn’t listen to him. Sotis he got aggressive but luckily, Clentine was skilled enough to handle him in that state.
She didn’t know where Sam was going and when she asked him, he simply said he was following the fragnt.
This was a very strange thing to say considering it was just a rock that was poisonous but she had seen Jason devour them but he didn’t show this effect.
Was it because he ate them? Was that why he was stable?
That couldn’t be it because it was no secret that the governnt had run experints regarding it and they all failed, this was why Schneider’s research was so impressive.
Sam was two different people, it was almost like his personality had split.
One side of him was rational and there was a sense of the old Sam in there but the other part was violent.
There was no reasoning with him, the only thing he did was destroy and that was a side of him that Clentine didn’t want to encounter again.
"We need to find it..." Sam said, sitting up but Clentine looked up, wondering what he ant.
"Find what?" She asked.
"The fragnt, it was speaking to but the voice..." Sam said; he was exhausted even though they had been off the road for quite so ti.
"The voice... What happened to the voice Sam, you need to talk to ," Clentine reassured him that she was there to listen.
"For months, I have been talking but you think I’m crazy... I thought I was crazy too but that rock isn’t just a rock... Otherwise, I wouldn’t have heard Jason’s voice..." Sam said.
Clentine’s heart dropped the mont she heard Jason’s na but there was a chance that Sam was hallucinating as well because this wouldn’t be the first ti.
But Clentine knew that Jason wasn’t exactly human so what Sam said was worth giving so thought because there was a possibility
"Sam, are you saying you’re hearing Jason speak to you through the fragnts and he is the one telling you to co?" Clentine asked.
"Bitch, haven’t you been listening to ?" Sam asked, once in a while she could see signs of the old Sam but she wanted to see what he ant by this.
Clentine got up and went to retrieve the fragnt that she had buried close by before returning.
"I knew you didn’t get rid of it, bring it here," Sam ordered her and Clentine sighed, hoping that she wasn’t about to regret her decision.
She handed it to Sam and sothing happened to him, his eyes rolled to the back of his head as he began to shake aggressively like he was having a seizure.
"SAM!!!" Clentine rushed to his side, trying her best to put him to his side so he didn’t hurt himself as well as take the fragnt but she couldn’t pry it from his hands.
Sam had clenched his hands so tight that his blood was seeping through the cracks of his fingers.
Clentine realized that she might have made a mistake but Sam’s eyes soon returned to normal and the sigh of relief that overca her spoke volus.
"You scared ! Are you alright?" Clentine questioned but Sam only chuckled.
"Oh, I’m great. I know where we need to go," Sam said but there was no telling who was talking to him. If it was truly Jason at all or if the fragnt had found a way to jumble up his perception of reality.
However, Clentine wanted to see where it led them. Sam was strong enough to resist the control it had over him for so long because he did have a sense of individuality.
Others would have lost their mind by now but what was his breaking point?
Everyone had one and Clentine trusted that he could hold out just a little longer.

Dimitris found it strange that the zombies stayed clear of this location but he wasn’t complaining, they managed to grow their community to the point that they only went out on runs once or twice a month to get so things that they lacked otherwise they had everything they needed within the walls.
Dimitris was impressed that Mathias had managed to use plants to make so dicine that would have otherwise required pills, proving that he was more than a pretty face.
He had grown quite a lot in that regard because he was putting the community first and the stress was showing on his face.
Eye bags were forming under his eyes and they had beco sowhat semi-permanent because his sleeping pattern was nonexistent.
However, Mathias didn’t mind this but Dimitris noticed that if they moved far enough from the community, they could see zombie activities even though they were the normal walkers.
They weren’t threatening and could be taken care of easily, he didn’t know what happened that night a year ago but he questioned if those were zombies or people pretending to be zombies because this was also the first ti he saw zombies retreat.
The zombies were coordinated and smart, they adapted to their strategy and they shouldn’t have this level of intelligence.
Dimitris didn’t like that Jason was among the casualties but it was part of the reality of this world.
Jason helped them out in more ways than one and this included saving his life and position when Mariam wanted him to step down but he was gone or was he?
This was a possibility that existed but Dimitris knew to hope is to torture himself, he had to let go but deep down, he couldn’t.
