In the capital city of Weston, a middle-aged man sat on a luxurious chair with his brows furrowed.

Behind him were his n, and the re ntion of their nas was enough for fear to grip their hearts.

Death Wish.

They were assassins for hire. A deadly organization with a high success rate when it ca to assassination commissions.

And this group was currently looking at the man seated across from their leader.

"Why the anxious face?" the man asked, treating the main headquarters of the assassin organization like his own ho. "And is this how you usually treat your guests? No water, no wine? Poison is also good. It took a while to find this place, so the least you guys can do is offer a drink, you know?"

Gerald Leventis smiled faintly as he looked at the leader of Death Wish, whose rank was that of a Throne.

Thirteen’s father was only a Champion. Soone who should fear the person in front of him.

But, fear was the last thing that Gerald felt at the mont. What he felt was satisfaction at being at the heart of the organization that once tried to assassinate him... not once, but twice.

No one escapes a Death Wish twice.

That was their policy, and yet, not only had Gerald escaped their second attempt, but he also absolutely trampled on those who tried to kill him.

This brought the na of the assassins into the mud, breaking their killing streak.

"What are you doing here, Gerald Leventis?" the leader of Death Wish, Shade, asked. "Did you co here to commission us to kill soone?"

"Kill soone? Why would I do that?" Gerald asked back, his expression filled with amusent. "I only ca here to say hello to all of you personally. Am I not allowed to?"

Shade narrowed his eyes. "If the reason for your visit is to find out who commissioned us to kill you, you’re just wasting your ti. We do not share the details of our clients."

"At least you guys have your principles." Gerald nodded in satisfaction. "Unfortunately, that’s not the reason I ca here. I already know who commissioned you guys to kill , and that person is already dead."

"Oh? And how did you know that information? Even if you torture my n, they will not give out those details even if you kill them."

"Laplace Demon is the one who passed the information. You see, my no-good son has friends in very high places... if you get my drift."

"How lucky of you to have friends from high places," Shade replied dryly. "I wish I had those kinds of friends too."

"Well, maybe you should also raise a son like I did." Gerald smirked. "He might be able to make those connections for you."

Gerald casually took out a bottle of champagne, and two glasses from his storage ring.

He uncorked the bottle with a pop, and poured its contents to the two glasses, pushing one of them towards Shade.

Right now, the leader of Death Wish was very tempted to stab Gerald to personally end his life.

But he didn’t dare to do it.

Why?

Because behind the man who had walked confidently inside their headquarters was a Golden Azothrall.

This was the personal bodyguard that Thirteen had assigned to his father the mont Gerald told him that he would pay Death Wish a visit.

Thirteen didn’t ask him any questions or dissuade him not to go. He simply nodded his head and told Gerald to be ho before dinner.

A casual conversation between father and son. Soone without context might think Gerald was just going to the store to buy so soy sauce.

The one who had commissioned to kill Gerald was none other than the deceased monarch of the, Ashford Clan, Aaron Ashford.

He wanted to bring down the Leventis down a peg, and what better target than the prodigal son of their family?

But the assassins he hired failed to deliver the killing blow, allowing Gerald to survive.

Everyone thought he wouldn’t dare to go to Solterra again after his narrow escape from death.

But he returned and escaped Death twice.

Now, he was seeing the mbers of this assassin organization a third ti. And this might be the last ti he would see them in his lifeti.

"Drink up," Gerald said. "Don’t worry, this champagne is not poisoned."

As if to prove his words were true, Gerald drank the glass of champagne in front of him until nothing was left.

"See?" Gerald placed the empty glass back on the table. "Perfectly safe."

Shade looked at the glass that was offered to him before shifting his gaze back to the man before him.

"Let’s not waste each other’s ti. What do you want?" Shade asked. "Why are you here? Do you want to apologize to you?"

"Well, if you want to apologize, I’ll accept it," Gerald answered. "But like I said, I only ca here to see all of you one last ti. You can even say that I’m just tying up loose ends."

Shade’s hand twitched. He suddenly felt a sense of dread gripping his heart. Trusting his instincts, he kicked the table toward Gerald before jumping back.

The table was sliced in half by the Azothrall. But, aside from that action, it didn’t move to confront Shade and his mbers.

Gerald, on the other hand, rescued his glass, and filled it with champagne.

He then made a "cheers" gesture towards the mbers of the Death Wish, and smiled faintly.

"No one escapes a Death Wish twice," Gerald said. "Since all of you have killed so many people, you should have been prepared to be killed as well, right?"

The mont those words were spoken, the entire residence started to collapse.

Shade and his n hurriedly retreated to get outside of the house, while Gerald remained seated.

Not minding in the slightest that stones were falling above his head.

The Golden Azothrall made sure to protect its Master, not even letting a speck of dust reach him.

anwhile, as the assassins were making their escape, they sensed several presences stop them in their tracks.

Over a dozen Rank 8 Azothralls surrounded their paths of escape, locking them in place.

They were currently in the busiest part of the city, and yet, not a single person could be seen walking in the streets.

The lively atmosphere seed to have been overshadowed by these powerful monsters that once terrorized the Cygni Continent.

"Spread out!" Shade ordered.

Imdiately, the assassins tried to break through in different directions.

But it was impossible.

They were hopelessly outclassed by the monsters who were created to beco the perfect killing machines.

With his legs cut down, Shade collapsed on the ground while gritting his teeth.

It was then that he heard soone walk toward him.

Each step seed to resound inside his head.

Death was approaching him.

And he was taking his sweet ti with the intention of toying with Shade’s emotions.

Knowing what was going to happen next, the leader of Death Wish decided to commit suicide by breaking the capsule that was hidden inside his tooth.

It was a very powerful poison that guaranteed death in seconds.

But even after the poison touched his tongue, nothing happened.

Shade blanked out, thinking that the poison he had might have been a dud. However, that was impossible.

Suddenly, he heard shouts of pain, and horror all around him. These shouts belonged to his n, proving that they, too, weren’t able to escape their fate.

"Are you perhaps wondering why you’re still not dead?" Gerald’s voice reached Shade, forcing the latter to prop himself up with his hands to glare at the man standing before him.

"What did you do?!" Shade shouted. "Why didn’t I die?!"

Gerald sighed. "Didn’t I tell you? My son has friends in high places. He had made this area completely void of death.

"I believe that person’s profession is called Heaven’s Necromancer, and he has complete control over life and death. This ans that unless he wills it, none of you will die even if I stab you to death."

The color in Shade’s face drained after hearing Gerald’s reply. His words bordered the realm of impossibility.

He couldn’t die because he wasn’t allowed to die?

What nonsense was this?!

"I know you have a lot of questions, and I have plenty of ti to answer them," Gerald stated. "But first..."

Gerald summoned a giant hamr he had personally crafted.

This hamr was a Mythical Weapon, which he nad Ruinmaker.

A hamr that would put everyone it hit to ruin!

"You see, my daughters are very popular," Gerald said before loosening his tie, preparing himself to beat the crap out of the leader of Death Wish to vent out his frustrations. "And they now have boyfriends. One of them is a Celestial, and I can’t do sh*t about him.

"The other is a Tigerkin, and I also couldn’t do anything about him because if I do, Remi will hate . As a father who loves his daughters and doesn’t want to marry them off at the mont, do you know how I feel?"

"Screw you! I don’t care!" Shade shouted. "Just kill and end it all!"

"Hah..." Gerald sighed. "I see. You don’t care huh? Maybe after pounding you a thousand tis will you change your mind?"

Without warning, Gerald swung his hamr and slamd it full force on Shade’s chest, making the latter scream in pain.

Ruinmaker could amplify the pain that its target was feeling by a thousand percent, breaking not only their bodies, but their minds as well.

Nearly half an hour later, Gerald finally stopped pounding Shade senseless.

"Where was I?" Gerald pondered for a while. "Oh yeah... about my daughters. Don’t you think that they’re still too young to have boyfriends?"

"Kill ... just kill ..." Shade pleaded.

The pain he felt after that repeated beating was too much even for him to bear. He wanted to die but couldn’t die, and it was driving him crazy.

"Welp, I guess you still haven’t experienced enough beating." Gerald once again raised his hamr and smashed it once more on the assassin’s body, making him scream.

They said that no one escaped a Death Wish twice.

But before this day was over, no one from Death Wish would be able to escape from Gerald’s wrath, which he had been bottling up for many years.

High above the sky, Lux Von Kaizer looked at Thirteen’s father with a calm gaze.

But deep inside, he had a thought. One day, his own daughters would also be taken away from him by other n. And once it happened, he would probably do the sa thing Gerald was doing right now.

’I’ll take so pointers here,’ Lux thought, making sure to rember every word and every act Gerald was doing right now. ’It might co in handy so day.’

And thus, after that day was over, Death Wish ceased to exist.

News of Gerald personally taking care of them spread far and wide.

This made those who were the victims of this assassin organization rejoice because the deaths of their family, lovers, and friends had finally been avenged by the sa person who escaped Death Wish twice!
