"Aaarrgghhh!" Laufey screamed in pain while clutching his head. His saliva was leaking out of his lips as he had a hard time enduring the ringing pain in his head.
"Shut up!" Laufey shouted before the pain gradually subsided. "Ha… Ha… Ha…"
Laufey looked at his surroundings with his fuzzy eyes, finding nothing but an empty room. He just dropped to his knees and flipped his head around so that he could lean on the table.
His knees were up while he was staring at his hands as though there was so much blood on them that he couldn't wash them clean no matter how hard he tried to do it.
Laufey ended up burying his face on his thighs while covering his head with his arms.
"I still need to do this. The Supreme Devil has bee more and more active recently. At this rate, they might win." Laufey bit his lips.
'Laufey. This is your fault.'
'Why did you kill me? Why did you betray the army?'
'Laufey! I will curse you. Even if I die, I will bee your ghost and haunt you for the rest of your life.'
'Kill your nephew!'
'Destroy the Ardagan family.'
Laufey clenched his hands into fists while gritting his teeth. He just wanted to tell them to shut their mouth, but he knew it was useless.
He had dirtied his hand so much that his fate was already sealed.
"Just shut up…" Laufey muttered as his body was trembling. "I was the one who decided to do this. You can curse me, kill me, or make me pay in the afterlife, but just shut up as long as I'm still alive."
Laufey couldn't help but recall his life before being a part of the Supreme Devil Organization.
There was a warm dinner with Luke and Leysha. Everyone was smiling and enjoying their food. However, that peaceful harmony shattered like glasses. And he was the one who did it.
When he visited Noel in his cradle, he extended his hand, wanting to touch this cute baby boy. Surprisingly, Noel grabbed his finger and smiled as if he understood him.
His expression melted at that time, but after everything he had done, he could only picture his hand covered in blood. Noel grabbed his finger, but his eyes were filled with killing intent.
'Why do you want to kill me, Uncle?'
All the good memories had been destroyed. There was no one to blame other than himself.
He didn't know when it started, but he never had a good night's sleep after that particular day. Every day, he was haunted by all his sins of betrayal.

Every single day, he wished for the day of retribution to e. He wanted Noel to get stronger and defeat the Supreme Devil Organization. In that process, Noel would e at him with a face filled with anger and struck him down.
He could finally pass away and atone for his sins. It was a dream that kept him going.
Every time he heard about Noel, his heart would skip a beat as various thoughts entered his mind.
'What should I do?'
'The others are discussing how to deal with him.'
'No. If they e, it will be the end. Even though Dimitri is supposed to be protecting him, he's not strong enough to go against them yet.'
He would panic inwardly and ultimately volunteered to take down Noel to prove himself worthy as the member of the Supreme Devil Organization. This way, the Supreme Devil wouldn't doubt him anymore.
But when it came to the time where he had locked Noel in place, his heart would go into panic mode once again.
'No. This is not good. If I continue this way, won't Noel be cornered pletely?'
'I can't let them kill my nephew.'
'I will kill them!'
'Oh no! How dare that bitch harm my nephew? I will kill her. I will torture her. I will gouge her eyes and skin her alive!'
Even during the time Alexander volunteered himself to kill Noel, he tried to fight for the position, but no matter how he did it, Alexander would e.
He ended up making himself suspicious because of his insistence. He couldn't sleep for days, wondering if Noel managed to escape or not.
Even during the attack on the Golden Dawn City with a hundred thousand demons, he kept looking for a way to bring only the lowest number without any ancient demons. He looked around to find a space where he could bring demons without provoking an ancient demon.
Every single time, he would worry sick, but he couldn't express that emotion outside. No matter how hard it was, the moment he exposed his weakness, everything would crumble.
It was a path he chose to walk by himself. He had promised his brother to crush the Supreme Devil Organization. He paved the way for his nephew to bee the hero.
All that was for a single goal that he always believed in. He wanted to see the other side of the hill where humans didn't have to fight each other anymore… a world where humans could stand side by side to create a better world… a world where a child didn't have to cry on a lonely winter night because his stomach was empty… a world where no one had to endure everything he had experienced.
"I will go to hell so that no one else has to endure hell on earth." In that darkness filled with blood, Laufey swore once again, steeling his resolve and stopping his tremble.
