At that mont, Penelope just smiled like she hadn't heard a single word Cora said, and she waved her hand in that sa dismissive way she had been doing all evening.
"Well, it seems like you're still angry with , and I completely understand that," she said, her voice taking on this fake caring tone that made Cora want to scream.
"But I'm just going to resolve this whole issue right here, right now. We're going to work this out amicably, and the way we're going to do that is simple." She reached over and squeezed Richard's arm, giving him this aningful look. "My boyfriend here, my husband-to-be, is going to pay for this entire al and everything else you order today."
At that mont, without wasting another second, Oliver had clearly seen enough of this ridiculous situation. His jaw was set tight, and there was sothing dangerous flickering in his eyes as he looked directly at Penelope and Richard.
"As you can clearly see and notice, my girlfriend doesn't want you to be here," he said, his voice calm but carrying an edge that made it clear he wasn't playing gas. "She doesn't want you interfering in her evening, and she's made that pretty obvious. You're desperately disturbing her peace right now, and I would strongly suggest that you quietly and respectfully stand up and leave this table." He gestured toward where they had co from without breaking eye contact with Penelope.
"You are not invited to sit at her table. There are plenty of other tables in this restaurant, and I saw exactly where you ca from when you walked over here."
Oliver pointed directly at the table across the room where Penelope and Richard had been sitting before they decided to intrude.
"That right there is your table. You can literally just go sit back down there and mind your own business. She doesn't want your company, she doesn't want your apologies, and she doesn't want you paying for anything. So stop pushing for sothing that's clearly not wanted."
At that mont, upon hearing every single word that just ca out of Oliver's mouth, Penelope's face twisted into this look of pure disgust. Her eyes narrowed as she looked Oliver up and down like he was sothing nasty she had just stepped in, taking in everything from his clothes to his face with obvious contempt.
"Is it that you're talking to right now?" she asked, her voice dripping with disbelief and anger.
"Did you just say all those words to ?"
At that mont, hearing what Penelope just said, Oliver nodded his head slowly, and when he spoke, his voice was steady but filled with warning.
"Yes, I did say all those words to you, and you better just respect yourself right now," he said, leaning forward slightly in his chair. "Because I've been sitting here watching you, and I've been watching how you literally just waltzed over here to insult my girlfriend and trying your best to belittle her, which is sothing I'm absolutely not going to tolerate."
His eyes never left Penelope's face, and there was sothing in his expression that made it clear he ant every single word.
"You might have been doing this kind of nonsense to her before, but not under my watch. I don't tolerate such disgusting behavior from anybody, so you better consider this your one and only warning."
Oliver's voice dropped even lower, but sohow that made his words sound even more threatening.
"I don't care which fancy family you ca from, and I don't care which rich family your fiancé here ca from either. None of that impresses or ans anything to . But what you will not do is cross my path and do things that are going to upset and annoy my partner. Are we clear on that?"
At that mont, Penelope's mouth fell open in complete shock because she clearly wasn't expecting this kind of response from Oliver. She had thought she could just steamroll over him the sa way she had been trying to do with Cora, but his words hit her like a slap across the face. Her eyes flashed with anger and embarrassnt as she turned to look directly at Cora.
"You're just going to sit there and watch your boyfriend talk to and insult in this manner?"
At that mont, hearing what Penelope just said, even though Cora was kind of taken aback by the fierce manner in which Oliver had just reacted to the whole situation, she knew deep down that there was absolutely no other way but to stand behind him and support what he had done for her.
"Yes, I completely support him in everything that he literally just said to you," Cora said, her voice getting stronger with each word as she found her courage.
"You really need to just respect yourself and walk away from this table. Because it's so obvious for everybody in this restaurant to see that you were literally just trying to get under my skin from the very beginning of this conversation." She gestured between herself and Oliver, then back at Penelope.
"And it's so painfully obvious that I don't want you here, I don't want to see you, and I definitely don't want to be around you or your attitude. So what exactly is so difficult for you to understand about that simple concept?"
Cora's eyes flashed with anger as she continued, feeling all the frustration from years of dealing with Penelope's toxic behavior bubbling up to the surface.
"Did you really think you could just walk over here, start insulting and trying to make feel small, and my boyfriend would just sit there quietly and watch it happen? Well, you thought wrong, and now you're getting exactly what you—"
However, before Cora could literally complete her statent, Penelope's face turned red with rage and she slamd her hand down on the table.
"Keep your mouth shut right now!" Penelope scread, her voice echoing through the exclusive dining room.
"How dare you? How dare you and your good-for-nothing, useless pig of a boyfriend talk down to in this manner?"
