The mark on his forehead flashed briefly before a large black blanket covered a part of the sandstorm. Then the black blanket receded into his ntal World, carrying everything that it had covered with it into his ntal World.
After taking a bite out of the sandstorm city, he took another one. Then another one. And a third one.
This black blanket is not his ntal World. It is an ability of his ntal World to take things from the physical world and put them into his ntal World. Every rank 5 cultivator can do this.
But the ntal World of rank 5 cultivators is fragile. They can’t just put anything into their ntal World, just like mortals just can’t put everything into their mouths.
Most of the things in the world are things that aren’t compatible with their ntal Worlds and will cause them injury when introduced into their ntal World. This injury will remain and won’t heal until they remove the foreign object from their ntal World.
Only a few special materials can enter the ntal World of rank 5 beings without injuring them. But that is not the case for him.
At the very least, he hasn’t found sothing that he can’t eat. As long as the black blanket can cover the object, he can eat it.
The only problem that he has ever encountered when trying to eat sothing was when he tried to cover an exposed Divine Position, but failed to cover it with the black blanket. Both he and Fenrir had suffered because of that failure.
However, this sandstorm city isn’t an exposed Divine Position, so it had no way of injuring him as he tried to eat it. All of his attempts to bite and eat it were successful.
His attacks quickly caused chaos and panic to spread through the city. The wind elentals of the city imdiately turned against him to attack him. They sward him and wound around him to cut him into pieces and ground those pieces to dust.
But all of their attacks failed after encountering his armor. Their attacks were so weak that they couldn’t even make him use up a lot of energy to defend himself.
Their only advantage was their numbers. There were millions of them, and tens of thousands of them or more were always attacking at any given mont. This translated to forcing him to consu a lot of energy to defend himself.
However, he still didn’t feel any strain on his energy reserve because he could easily replenish his internal energy by eating them. So he didn’t feel tired at all and was always able to engulf and devour more wind people.
One strange thing that he discovered was that the wind people refused to give up despite the overwhelming failure of their attacks and the large number of casualties that they were sustaining every mont.
This made him say to himself, ’This is not what I am used to at all. They should be running away for their lives instead of rushing up to to die. I thought these people were supposed to be intelligent.’
Actually, in a normal situation, these wind people would have prioritized their self-preservation instincts. But this situation isn’t normal because the will of the world has overridden their instincts to force the inhabitants of this world to continue to attack the invaders until the last man.
The will of the world doesn’t hope that one of them will be able to kill him. The main goal of the will of the world is simply to tire him out.
By forcing him to use up his energy now, it will be easy for a world guardian to kill him. This is a simple plan that has worked several tis today. The enslavent cultivator of the Four Directions Sect is a casualty of this plan.
Unfortunately for the will of this world, Loki only looks like the other invaders. He is actually very different. He is so different that even a knowledgeable seer capable of copying abilities had never seen him before.
Loki didn’t know what the will of the world was planning for him. All he knew was that instead of making him work to catch and eat them, these wind people were making it easy for him to snack on them.
He could only chuckle and say, ’I think it is safe to say that these people aren’t playing hard to get like the people of the Crystal City. I had to surround the people in the Crystal City, stop them from escaping, and trick them into the sect grounds before I could eat them.’
’Even then, they still told on and called a big boss over to deal with . The behavior of these wind people is a welco change, but I do hope they call soone stronger over to deal with .’
’They should do it quickly, too. After all, I am not doing this for jollies. I have real work that I need to get done.’
Then he sighed and said, ’It is a pity that Fenrir is too eye-catching, or I would put it up to this for .’
He thought that with a lot of Fenrir’s vessels helping him, they would be able to quickly finish off this city. Unfortunately, he didn’t want to draw any unwanted attention to himself at this point, so he didn’t let Fenrir co out and decided to do the job himself.
The good news was that Fenrir didn’t mind and was fine lounging in his ntal World, eating wind people. The bad news was that even after eating all of the wind people in the sandstorm, no world guardian showed up.
So he sighed in exasperation for a while. Then he matched on to find another city.
When he found the second city, he attacked it just like he did for the first one. He didn’t even need to move closer to this city because the people of this sandstorm city were already rushing over to attack him as soon as he was spotted.
