The clash between Kael and Magnus was ruinous. Two titanic alphas collided in the heart of the ford, claws rending armour and flesh, fangs snapping for throats. The river ran crimson around them as their personal guards fought in a frenzy to protect or exploit the duel. Howls and roars shook the plains while the larger battle raged on every side.

Seren refused to stay back.

Despite the triplets’ attempts to shield her; Aeron’s sharp commands through the bond to remain with the rear guard, Kael’s protective snarls, Theron’s shadows trying to weave a barrier around her, she pushed forward. Her newly transford wolf nature burned with the need to fight beside her mates. She was no longer the fragile human who had been kidnapped. She was a wolf in truth, bonded, powerful, and unwilling to watch from safety while her family bled.

She shifted mid-stride, dark fur rippling across her body as she darted into the chaos. Her smaller wolf form was fast and agile, weaving between larger combatants with growing confidence. The bond fed her Kael’s raw strength and Aeron’s tactical awareness, helping her anticipate strikes.

*Stay behind the line!* Aeron’s voice cut through the link, urgent and laced with fear for her.

*I am the line now,* she sent back fiercely, lunging at a northern wolf that had broken through. Her claws raked across its flank, drawing blood and forcing it to retreat. The move was inexperienced, too wide, leaving her side exposed, but the enemy’s surprise at a small, dark-furred female wolf fighting with such ferocity bought her a precious second.

Kael’s roar of approval rolled through the bond even as he traded blows with Magnus. *My fierce little mate.*

But inexperience nearly cost her everything.

A massive northern beta, twice her size, spotted the opening and charged. Its jaws snapped toward her unprotected throat. Seren twisted too late, her new reflexes still learning precision. She felt the hot breath and the glint of fangs...

Aeron was there in a blur of motion. He shifted partially, slamming his shoulder into the beta with crushing force and driving his claws deep into its side. The enemy wolf yelped and staggered away. Aeron’s golden eyes flashed with protective fury as he positioned himself between Seren and the threat.

*You are powerful, but you are still learning,* he sent, voice tight. *Do not make lose you today.*

Seren whined softly in acknowledgnt but did not retreat. Instead, she adjusted. The near-miss sharpened her focus. She began fighting smarter, using her speed to dart in, strike, and retreat rather than trading blows directly. Her human-turned-wolf perspective gave her a unique edge: she could read the battlefield with both human strategy and wolf instinct.

As the fighting intensified, Seren’s role evolved. She moved between the wolf warriors and the human soldiers who had co to support the defence. The humans: ard with spears, bows, and makeshift weapons, fought bravely but struggled to coordinate with the shifting, snarling wolves. Seren beca the bridge.

In human form, she shouted orders that both sides could understand. "Spearn, form the wall! Wolves, strike from the gaps!" Her voice carried new resonance, wolf power beneath human clarity. When a group of human volunteers hesitated as a wave of northern wolves charged, Seren shifted partially, claws extended and stood with them. "Together! They bleed the sa as we do!"

The humans straightened, inspired by the sight of the changed female fighting at their side. The wolves nearby responded to her presence as well, recognizing her as one of their own yet still connected to the human world. Her unique position surprised the enemy repeatedly. Northern wolves expected clear lines; wolf against human, but Seren blurred those boundaries, coordinating mixed units that struck with unexpected harmony.

She took down her first solo enemy shortly after Aeron’s shield. A lone northern scout tried to slip behind the lines to sabotage supplies. Seren slled his approach; pine and deceit, intercepted in wolf form. The fight was brutal and short. She used her smaller size to dodge beneath his lunge, then clamped her jaws on his hind leg, hamstringing him before finishing with a precise throat strike. The kill sent a surge of confidence through her.

Kael’s pride flooded the bond. *That’s my mate.*

Aeron’s relief was tempered with strategy. *Use that coordination. The humans are inspired by you. Make them part of the wall.*

Theron’s shadows whispered approval as he disrupted another enemy communication line. *They fear you now. A human who beca wolf fights beside both. It breaks their certainty.*

As the battle wore on, Seren beca a living symbol of unity. Wolves and humans fought harder when they saw her, darting between forms, directing mixed groups, standing fearless amid the carnage. Her presence inspired the royal forces to push back against the multi-pronged assault. Even so of Lady Sera’s wavering eastern warriors straightened when they witnessed the changed female coordinating humans and wolves with such natural authority.

The enemy was visibly unsettled. Northern howls carried confusion. Magnus’s forces had expected a divided defence—wolves fighting for alphas, humans cowering or fleeing. Instead, they faced a unified front where a forr human stood as both bridge and blade.

Yet the pressure remained imnse. Magnus pressed the center duel with Kael relentlessly, while his allied packs continued to hamr the flanks. The betrayal from so of Sera’s captains had created dangerous gaps that the royal forces were struggling to close.

Seren shifted back to human form during a montary lull near the command rise, breathing hard, blood streaking her arms. Aeron appeared at her side, shielding her with his body while assessing the lines.

"You are doing what no one else can," he said quietly, golden eyes fierce with pride and worry. "But you are still new to this. Do not push too far."

"I have to," she replied, claws flexing. "They need to see that wolf and human can stand together. That I can."

Kael’s roar echoed from the ford as he forced Magnus back a step. The bond surged with shared pain and determination, Kael was wounded but unyielding.

Theron materialized briefly, shadows clinging to him. "Magnus is committing everything. If we hold the center and close the eastern breach, we can turn this."
