Now reading: Chapter 12 12: A Sudden Thunderstorm from Taboo Pokémon Trainer: The Pure White Ralts and the MILF Harem [R18], a Mature novel by puq.

From 9:30 AM to high noon, for over two and a half hours, Lorze and Ralts engaged in non-stop, high-intensity training, only stopping for ditation breaks when her ntal stamina completely bottod out.

However, to be brutally honest, the only one actually going through high-intensity hell was Ralts. Lorze had literally just stood there like a statue for two hours.

Aside from acting as a human cushion for her to teleport into and occasionally pointing out her flaws, he hadn't contributed jack shit, right?

Ah shit, why did it feel like his coaching was just him being a lazy backseat gar while she did all the heavy lifting?

Even though Ralts probably didn't view him that way, he couldn't help but realize that this dynamic simply wasn't going to cut it.

A Trainer and their Pokémon were supposed to be a single, cohesive unit. How could only one side be sweating their ass off?

But... Ralts wasn't the kind of Pokémon that primarily needed physical conditioning, so he couldn't just run laps with her. And as a squishy human, he obviously couldn't practice Teleporting with her, right?

If he could actually do that, he'd be an overpowered god himself...

Determined to find a thod where they could train together, he spent all their break tis racking his brain.

When noon rolled around, he didn't opt to head ho. Since he had packed lunch in his bag, they just ate out in the wild to maintain their training montum.

For Ralts, the harshness of the environnt didn't matter in the slightest.

Back when she was wandering the wilderness all alone, securing even a scrap of food was a desperate struggle.

Now, not only did she have delicious als, but she also had soone incredibly important accompanying her every single second. She was already overwhelmingly satisfied.

After eating and drinking their fill, Lorze let Ralts rest for an extra half hour to fully restore her ntal energy before ruthlessly kicking off the next phase of their regin.

Through his pondering during the break, Lorze had figured out a training thod that forced him to get his ass moving alongside her.

He could sprint erratically through the forest, forcing Ralts to lock onto his moving figure with her psychic senses and execute a pinpoint Teleport right into his arms.

Thinking about it logically, enemies in real combat weren't going to stand still like target dummies. Having Ralts practice on a stationary target wasn't going to fly.

This new thod not only allowed him to actively train with her, but it also perfectly simulated an evasive, constantly moving opponent.

Moreover, this simulated scenario was arguably even more chaotic than a real battle. Because the area was densely packed with trees, Lorze's moving silhouette would constantly break line-of-sight. Under these conditions, executing a flawless Teleport into his arms—or accurately snatching the onesie with a psychic wave—was going to be a complete bitch.

Of course, the initial difficulty didn't need to be set to nightmare mode. He would jog at a slower pace first, giving Ralts a chance to adapt.

Also, Ralts didn't have to rigidly force a single, perfect jump. She could chain two or three rapid Teleports to continuously adjust her positioning to reach him.

This would burn through her ntal reserves significantly faster. Teleport already placed a massive tax on the mind; adding the extra processing power required to track a moving target ant the training intensity just drastically spiked.

But Ralts didn't back down. She clenched her teeth and endured the grueling grind.

Her Trainer was out here sweating and pushing his limits, so what right did she have to quit?

Compared to Pokémon, Lorze was truly just an ordinary human. His physical stamina absolutely paled in comparison to Ralts's, even if she was just a newborn.

So, after sprinting through the woods like a madman for a while, Ralts wasn't even tired yet, whereas he was already gasping for air.

It seed his own physical fitness desperately needed an upgrade. That was fine too; Trainers and Pokémon were ant to grow stronger together, right?

To set a proper example for Ralts, he refused to just give up and rest. Even if he had to slow his pace, he forced himself to keep going.

...

And so, the human and the Pokémon played an intense ga of tag through the woods, silently grinding their training in the desolate wilderness.

During the process, it was inevitable that Ralts's telekinetic waves were occasionally too slow, causing the Swablu onesie to plumt into the dirt. There were also tis when she rushed her Teleports and violently smacked into a tree.

Yet, instead of feeling sorry for her own bruised head, she felt terrible watching Lorze stumble around looking completely exhausted.

The forest floor was uneven and choked with thick weeds. Sprinting across this kind of terrain, especially while completely drained, ant tripping and eating shit was unavoidable.

After eating dirt a few tis, his footwork naturally got smoother, but his arms were covered in bleeding scrapes and scratches.

Ralts showed deep distress over this. Maybe he should just stop running with her?

But Lorze stubbornly insisted on running. Setting an example was part of it, but mostly it was to flawlessly simulate the chaotic, shifting variables of real combat.

Seeing that she couldn't talk him out of it, Ralts had no choice but to accept it.

Still, Lorze's lead-by-example thod paid off completely. Ralts secretly resolved to master these moves as fast as humanly possible, just so Lorze wouldn't have to torture himself training alongside her anymore.

Unfortunately, the young Ralts didn't yet understand that training was a never-ending hellscape. There would always be new moves to grind. Her innocent wish was honestly less effective than a sudden thunderstorm.

Speaking of which... a thunderstorm.

Just as Lorze and Ralts finished a rest break and geared up for the next round, massive, bean-sized raindrops suddenly plumted from the sky.

"Rain?"

Lorze held out his hand to catch the water, only to watch the initially sparse drops aggressively escalate into a torrential downpour in less than ten seconds.

His face instantly darkened. Sumr squalls always hit fast and hit hard. He never had the habit of checking the weather forecast before heading out, so he didn't bring a fucking umbrella.

Good thing he had Ralts. He could just have her mold a telekinetic shield over their heads—that would be enough to keep the rain off.

"Ralts, quick, use Confusion to block the rain. We need to get the hell out of these woods," Lorze frowned, watching the gale-force winds whipping up the storm.

"Ralt? (Why don't we just take shelter in the woods?)" Ralts asked, completely confused. Whenever it rained in the past, she always hid under the trees.

"That's because..." Lorze was just about to explain the basic physics of why hiding under a tree during a storm was a great way to get brutally electrocuted.

Before the words could even leave his mouth, a furious bolt of lightning viciously slamd into the ground just a short distance ahead of them.

With a deafening BOOM, a tree thick enough to wrap your arms around was blown to absolute fucking splinters.

Ralts nearly jumped out of her skin in sheer terror, instantly burying her face into Lorze's chest. Now she fully understood why.

"Ralt! (Hurry! Let's get the fuck out of here!)"

Due to her traumatic past, Ralts's personality was already incredibly skittish. This literal jumpscare made her absolutely refuse to stay here for another second.

Honestly, Lorze didn't need any prompting; his legs were already moving. Thunderstorms had a nasty habit of striking the sa general area repeatedly, so he had to put as much distance between them and this spot as possible.

Luckily, they hadn't ventured too deep into the woods, so they quickly cleared the danger zone.

Then, the human and the Pokémon just stood huddled together like idiots out in the open, silently watching the torrential downpour get so violently heavy that it blurred their vision.

To play it safe, he moved even further away from the treeline, but he still didn't opt to head ho.

After all, sumr storms ca and went in a flash. By the ti they actually managed to walk ho, the rain would have already stopped anyway.

Plus, with Ralts's telekinetic canopy acting as an umbrella, they didn't have to worry about getting soaked. Might as well just wait it out.

The torrential rain only lasted about ten minutes before thinning back out. During that ti, the booming thunder sounded absolutely terrifying, but no more lightning actually struck down.

After all, it wasn't exactly easy to get hit by a random lightning strike.

However, Lorze had miscalculated one critical thing. The post-rain forest floor was a disgustingly muddy swamp reeking of rot. Every step sank halfway up your shoes, making it completely impossible to continue training.

No helping it. It looked like today's training session was officially over.

"Ralt?"

"What is it?"

"Ralt, Ralt!"

"You're saying... you felt a bizarre surge of energy coming from the tree that just got struck?"

Ralts nodded frantically. She stared in the direction of the blasted tree, vaguely hallucinating the crackle of tiny, golden electrical arcs.

Hearing this, Lorze was montarily stunned. He squinted at the lightning-struck wood, but his normal eyes couldn't see a damn thing out of the ordinary.

However, based on Ralts's description, he had every reason to believe she had actually sensed the residual Electric-type energy lingering in the atmosphere.

In the current scientific understanding of this Pokémon world, the atmosphere was saturated with free-floating elental energies.

It was just that under normal circumstances, a Pokémon could only physically sense the energy corresponding to its own typing. Getting a Pokémon to comprehend and absorb non-STAB elental energy was a notoriously brutal task.

Currently, the most foolproof thod on the market to force a Pokémon to learn non-STAB moves was to throw massive amounts of cash at the problem. You had to buy exorbitant amounts of off-type Berries and force-feed them to your Pokémon, slowly accumulating the foreign energy in their bodies until it crossed a threshold where they had a chance of perceiving it.

But how could the pitiful energy locked inside a Berry ever compare to the absolute, unbridled fury of a natural lightning strike?

The impact zone of that lightning bolt obviously contained an astronomical spike in Electric-type energy compared to the normal baseline, pushing it to a level so intense that Ralts could perceive it viscerally.

Realizing this, Lorze was flooded with absolute euphoria.

If he had to use the traditional pay-to-win thod to get her to learn an Electric-type move, God knows how much money he'd have to burn.

And now, they had literally stumbled across a fresh lightning-struck tree. Wasn't this essentially the universe dropping a massive pile of cash right into his lap?

"Hurry! We need to fully comprehend this before the energy dissipates. Whether you can master a non-STAB move all cos down to right fucking now!"

Lorze glanced up at the sky. The clouds were already calming down, so there shouldn't be any more lightning strikes. It was safe to get closer to absorb the energy.

He had to completely seize this once-in-a-lifeti opportunity!

And it truly was a once-in-a-lifeti chance. How many tis in a person's life do they witness a tree get completely annihilated by lightning right in front of them?
