The black vans sped along a deserted highway nearly covered in vines, tires screeching as they rounded tight corners.
Inside, the humans sat tensely, their breaths coming out in ragged gasps, their voices filled with panic.
The air was thick with the sll of sweat as they exchanged frantic whispers.
"This wasn't supposed to go this far!" one of them exclaid, gripping the edge of his seat.
"We were only supposed to grab a few weaker ones for the experints, not get caught in a full-scale dragon assault!"
Another man, seated near the back, wiped his brow with a trembling hand. "Yeah, where the hell did those dragons and mutated wyverns co from? They weren't in the intel!"
"I don't know, man!" a third voice yelled in frustration. "We scouted this area for weeks. There wasn't any sign of major activity-just scattered reports of low-tier dragonkin!"
A younger man sitting by the window shook his head, his eyes wide. "Did you see that black one? It torched half the jungle like it was nothing! And then there was that psycho with the spear and the one shooting arrows... What are these things?!"
Another man, the apparent leader of the group, slamd his fist against the van's dashboard. BAM!
"Enough! Panicking won't help. We've got the cargo-just focus on getting it to the facility." As they continued to argue, one of the n in the back suddenly stiffened, his eyes fixed on the sky beyond the windshield. "Wait. Hold on-what's that?"
The others followed his gaze, craning their necks toward the windshield. A figure could be seen flying overhead, blocking out the sun montarily.
Far ahead, golden wings spread wide, white and black scales glinting like polished obsidian in the sunlight.
It was Alister.
His scales shimred with an otherworldly sheen, his gaze cold and intense as he watched the humans desperately flee with their cargo... kidnapped dragonkin.
"Oh no," one of the n whispered, his voice barely audible over the sound of the van's engine. "Is that... another dragon?"
The leader's face paled as realization dawned on him. "No, that's not just a dragon. That's sothing far worse... I saw that one telling the wyverns what to do once. I think it might be their leader."
Alister's golden eyes narrowed, locking onto the convoy of black vans.
"We're not getting away," one man stamred, his voice trembling. "It's over."
The leader gritted his teeth and shouted, "Shut up and floor it! We might still-"
His words were cut short as a low, resonant roar echoed through the air, shaking the very ground beneath the speeding vehicles.
ROARRRRRRR!
The deafening roar echoed through the air, a sound that carried a weight far beyond physical force.
It was as if the very essence of Alister's power had been funneled into a single overwhelming cry.
Inside the vans, chaos erupted.
The humans clutched their heads, screaming in pain. It felt as though their brains were on fire, frying under an invisible pressure.
So trembled violently; others collapsed into their seats, unable to form coherent words through the intense pain.
"What... what is this?! It feels like my skull's splitting apart!" one man stamred, his voice shaking.
The driver of the lead van gasped, his hands slipping from the steering wheel as he struggled to maintain control. "I-I can't think... can't even move!"
Unknown to them, this was one of Alister's abilities, earned from his most recent level-up:
Overlord Stun Roar.
It was a skill ant to subjugate enemies, stunning them with sheer magical and ntal force.
Skill Description:
A Dragon Overlord's roar is absolute, for it heralds the end and beginning of all things.
Roar Type: Stun.
Effects: Completely stuns enemies both physically and ntally. Depending on the target's abilities, stun duration can vary.
The roar's effect was instant and absolute.
Every van skidded to a halt, their engines idling as the occupants writhed in tornt.
Above them, Alister extended his hand, his voice calm as he uttered, "Shattering, Space Law."
In an instant, the air around the vans shimred, rippling like disturbed water.
A crackling sound filled the silence as space itself seed to break apart.
The dragonkin imprisoned within the vans were suddenly teleported out.
They appeared in the open, scattered across the dirt road. Their bodies bore items that kept them captive-black and yellow cuffs bound their necks, wrists, and ankles.
So lay unconscious, their bodies limp and battered. Others sat upright, wide-eyed with panic, looking around their surroundings.
But as their eyes rose and fell upon the figure hovering above, their fear gave way to awe. Alister hovered in the air, his wings outstretched and gleaming with radiant light.
A display so brilliant it left the dragonkin srized.
For a mont, there was silence, broken only by whispers that passed through the group like
a ripple.
"Overlord..."
"It's the Overlord..."
Their murmurs grew louder, spreading as his identity dawned on them.
Alister's golden gaze softened slightly as he addressed them.
"You need not worry... Your lord is here."
With a fluid motion, he raised his hand again as he uttered, "Altering Gravity Law."
The dragonkin began to lift off the ground, their bodies floating toward him as though carried
by an unseen current.
So gasped in astonishnt, while others reached out instinctively toward their savior.
With a snap of his fingers, the cuffs binding their necks, wrists, and ankles shattered like
fragile glass.
The remnants fell to the ground, leaving the dragonkin free at last.
A wave of emotion swept through the group-relief, awe, and unrestrained joy.
"It's the Overlord! It's really him!"
"We're saved!"
"We pay our respects to the Overlord!"
They bowed their heads, their voices filled with gratitude as tears stread down so of
their faces.
Alister's expression softened as he took in their gratitude. His voice, though commanding,
was calm and reassuring.
"Calm yourselves. You are safe now."
He paused, letting his words sink in.
"I will reunite you with your families soon. For now, know that you are free, and no harm will
co to you under my protection."
