His tone beca sharper.

'For you are untouched by ti, unclaid by death, and unshaken by fate itself. No prophecy binds you. No destiny claims you. You are the one constant in an ever-changing universe—the one who stands above all, not because you were chosen, but because you chose.'

Alister felt a strange weight settle in his chest. The words resonated with sothing deep within him, sothing instinctual.

But even as he acknowledged it, he remained silent, his expression unreadable.

Alack's tone turned even darker.

'Although it is amusing to see you in confusion, it hurts my pride that you would even think such a thought. It pains to admit it, but I lost to you those eons ago. That, I can live with. But don't you dare insult by insinuating so random being out there could actually be a cause for doubt.'

Alister paused for a mont, then chuckled, drawing a glance from Galisk and Miyu, but they said nothing. Alister then replied to Alack, 'I never knew you held in such high regard, brother.'

'What of my mont of weakness at the hands of Ju'Nero? Isn't it only natural I'd be cautious? As far as my mory serves, you mocked in those monts—'

'An action that was only taken to ensure I would erge from the seal you trapped in, to ensure my claim to your life wouldn't be stolen by so lowborn creature. Do not mistake my actions as respect. I simply refuse to let that creature steal from , and you were only in such a state because you still do not possess all of your mories,'

Alack said in a sharp tone.

Alack grinned, revealing his sharp teeth as he said, 'For now, relish the control you have. Regain all of your mories so I can eventually experience the pleasure of killing you when you are at your best.'

'I would love to see you try,' Alister replied with pride.

Alack grinned. 'Then wait and see.'

Alister chuckled.

He then leaned back in his seat, arms crossed, before glancing at Galisk. "Father, I'm feeling a bit excited. How about a father-and-son spar later? I'm suddenly curious what the limits of the world's strongest look like."

Galisk smirked, tilting his head slightly. "We'd have to step into the wastelands for that. Otherwise, we'd end up tearing half the gacity apart."

Alister's lips curled into a small grin. "That sounds perfect. I'm looking forward to it."

As the hover limo smoothly ca to a stop, the doors slid open with a soft hiss. Galisk stepped out first. Alister followed, rolling his shoulders as he adjusted his coat the mont his foot hit the pavent.

Mar'Garet was already at his side, teleporting out instead of using the door, standing very close to him as if claiming her spot by his side. He glanced at her, then took a look around him.

Massive glass structures reached toward the sky, their surfaces reflecting the soft glow of energy lights embedded in the streets.

But what caught his attention most were the massive glass cylinders dotting the landscape, each housing lush, vibrant greenery inside.

At first glance, they seed like decorative displays—humanity's attempt at blending life into steel and concrete. But as he looked closer, he noticed the chanisms attached to them.

Mar'Garet glanced around, her crimson eyes narrowing.

"Humans have such strange ways of building cities. Those plants… why are they trapped in glass cylinders?"

Galisk let out a short chuckle, hands slipping into his coat pockets. "Those are air filtration systems. They prevent the polluted air and fus from affecting the plants while filtering what they take in. That way, they can keep producing oxygen."

Cinder's tail flicked behind him as he crossed his arms, his gaze sweeping over the cityscape..

"Humans are odd sotis."

They then began to walk, Mar'Garet by Alister's left, Cinder by his right. Mar'Garet humd as she smiled slightly while they walked.

Miyu walked closer to Galisk, peering up at him. "Where exactly are we going?"

Galisk glanced down at her with an easy smile. "A very expensive restaurant nearby. And while we're there, I need to check on soone—soone who's almost like a daughter to ."

Miyu blinked. "Wait… you have another child?"

Galisk's smile faltered for a split second before he shook his head. "Not quite. I raised them as a favor to a dear friend… one who's no longer with us."

Miyu's lips parted slightly, her expression softening. "That's… kind of amazing."

As they walked, hushed whispers spread like wildfire. A few pedestrians froze mid-step, their eyes going wide as they recognized Alister.

"It's dragon lord."

"Woah, he's even more handso in person!"

"Indeed, he is… That sharp jawline… his devilishly attractive yellow eyes."

"Quick, quick, take a picture!"

Within seconds, devices were whipped out, caras flashing like he was the lead actor in a scandalous drama.

The murmurs turned into excited chatter, then into outright commotion as more people took notice. Soon, a small crowd had gathered, and the requests started flying in from all directions.

"Dragon Lord! Please, just one photo!"

"Yeah, I've been a fan for ages! Could you call out Terra?"

"I'd die happy if I could get a selfie with her!"

"Oh my god, his eyes are even more gorgeous up close—look at that golden glow!"

"I bet his muscles are insane under that coat. Co on, flex for us!"

Alister blinked, montarily caught off guard. Flex? What was this, a body-building contest?

One particularly eager woman practically shoved her phone forward. "It'll only take a second, I swear!"

"I'm in the middle of sothing," Alister said, trying to keep his voice calm but firm. "I don't have the ti."

That should have been the end of it.

It wasn't.

"Just one picture!"

"Two seconds, I promise!"

"Three! Just three seconds!"

"Lord Alister, I'd love a picture! I won't even post it—I'll just treasure it forever!"

Galisk, who had been watching the scene unfold from so steps away with amusent, finally let out a chuckle, shaking his head.

"Oh? What do we have here?" His grin widened. "Seems my boy is famous. My marvelous genes are killer in any era!"

Alister shot him a flat look. "That's what you're focusing on right now?"

Miyu, standing right beside him, folded her arms. "Won't this slow us down?"

"Not a problem, I'm sure things will be handled very soon," Galisk said, waving it off. He turned his gaze to the side, his smirk deepening as he caught sight of Mar'Garet and Cinder.

Both looked murderous.

Both sighed.

And then—

A spark.

A flicker of fla.

Out of nowhere, Cinder turned to Alister, a slow smile curling on her lips. It seed innocent and beautiful, but there were definitely bloodthirsty intentions behind it.

"Ali dear," she called him by a nickna she had given him, "I think I'm going to have to incinerate these annoying humans."

Alister t her gaze with an amused smile. "I understand your frustration, darling."

Although it may not have been his intention, that was all the permission she needed.

Suddenly, a ball of fire blood in her palm, its heat made her intent clear.
