Alack’s golden eyes glowed brighter, their eerie light illuminating the shadowed depths of Alister’s soul sea. The air around him trembled as he drew upon the power of fortune—a fragnt of destiny he had stolen long ago.

Invisible golden chains materialized around him, intricate and spectral, each one pulsing with the faint hum of severed fate.

One by one, they began to shatter.

Crack.

Snap.

Each chain that broke sent a surge of energy into Alack, and his aura swelled violently, a maelstrom of deep purple mana expanding outward like a tidal wave.

His grin widened, splitting into a maniacal laugh that echoed through the boundless void.

"Yes... yes! Finally!" Alack roared, his voice dripping with elation. "I will be free! And when I am free, I will consu everything you built, Sonoris! This is the end—of you, of your pitiful ideals—of everything!"

But then—

A subtle tremor rippled through the soul sea.

Sothing stirred.

The broken golden chains—those Alack had destroyed—began to reform.

Links of radiant light wove themselves back together, the shattered pieces snapping into place as if ti itself had reversed.

Alack’s grin faltered.

"...No..." he whispered, his voice barely audible.

One by one, the chains reford completely, restoring themselves stronger and more radiant than before.

The smile fell from his face entirely, replaced by wide-eyed disbelief.

"This... this doesn’t make any sense. The power of fortune has been taken away!" he stamred.

His gaze darted around wildly, purple mana flickering unstable around him.

"He’s weakened... even in this state... even now, this much should be far beyond what he can possibly handle!"

But the chains only tightened, their golden glow intensifying until the entire soul sea pulsed with their light, drowning out Alack’s spreading darkness.

Sowhere deep within, a presence stirred—

One that Alack had not accounted for.

One that was not as weak as he believed.

Suddenly, a deep, resonant voice stirred within the soul sea.

"The fact that you so often cling to such a notion... that you would ever manage to best ..."

"...still remains one of the mysteries the Primordials themselves will never have an answer to."

The sound alone made the golden chains blaze even brighter, their radiance pushing back the purple miasma Alack had unleashed.

Alack’s eyes widened in shock—and then, as if struck by an unseen force, his once-golden irises flared violently before reverting back to their original deep purple.

His jaw clenched, his teeth grinding audibly as a wave of fury surged through him.

"No..." he hissed, the sound low and venomous.

His hands trembled as the purple mana around him flickered chaotically, no longer stable, his earlier confidence shattered.

"No! This is impossible! You should be broken, shackled, powerless! Even at your peak, you could not—you should not—be able to do this!"

But the voice did not answer him.

Alack turned slowly, his breath catching as his gaze fell on the figure approaching through the radiant expanse of the soul sea.

There he was.

Alister.

He walked with calmness, arms clasped behind his back, every movent radiating absolute confidence. His body blazed even brighter than before, golden-white flas rippling outward like living sunlight, so intense that the shadows recoiled with every step.

Alack’s eyes widened in shock.

Alister’s gaze t his, a faint smile curling at the edge of his lips.

"Indeed... right you are, brother..

And it’s all thanks to that little stunt you just tried to pull... using the power of fortune to shift celestial law, letting your Authority be prioritized above mine."

He tilted his head slightly, almost amused, as the light around him flared brighter.

"In doing so, you’d finally and completely destroy the seal."

Alister raised one hand slowly, opening his palm.

Resting in his grasp was the very power of fortune that Alack had stolen—now glowing brighter than ever, as though it had always belonged to him.

"I must say, brother," Alister continued, his smile sharpening, "you are rather creative for soone so well-versed in the arts of destruction. But in the end..."

The golden chains flared violently around them as if answering his words.

"...your own greed beca the key that freed ."

Alack’s face twisted with rage, his voice echoing through the soul sea like a venomous snarl.

"And what do you think you’re going to do now?" he spat, stepping forward as his purple mana flared violently. "No matter what you try, you’re going to die here. Your heart has been destroyed, your power suppressed. Look around you, Sonoris—"

He gestured sharply at the black chains binding him in the real world, at the oppressive darkness pressing in from all sides.

"You’re surrounded, shackled on your knees, and on the verge of death. Your power isn’t going to work here... but mine will."

Alack’s grin returned, feral and cruel.

"You literally have no other choice but to let out. The mont you fall, I take over completely. And this ti..." His golden eyes glinted with malicious glee.

"...there won’t be anyone left to stop ."

His purple aura surged outward in a chaotic storm, the darkness around him roiling as if answering his rage.

"You’re finished, brother. Admit it. You’ve already lost again."

Suddenly, Alister’s voice cut through the soul sea, calm yet filled with authority.

"Have you forgotten who I am, brother?"

Alack scoffed, his expression twisting with disdain. "Now you’re just being delusional."

Alister’s eyes narrowed, his tone sharpening like a blade.

"Watch yourself, brother. I have neither the ti nor the patience to accommodate your petty bickering." He stepped closer, the golden chains around Alack tightening in response to his words. "Do you wish to sleep for another millennia... or perhaps a few more?"

Alack’s grin faltered. His jaw clenched as he ground his teeth in silent rage, saying nothing.

Alister exhaled softly, his expression relaxing into sothing far more composed. "Good. Co now. There is much to do."

Alack’s eyes narrowed. "And what exactly are you planning now?"

Alister’s lips curved into a small, knowing smile. "As celestial law mandates, our mythos has been proven over and over without fail. Dragons will always perish before the darkness. So we simply need a power... that transcend these fragile limits."

Alack tilted his head slightly, suspicion flashing in his gaze. "I overheard you and that human speaking about so so-called evolution magic. You don’t possess it now. So what exactly are you trying to do, knowing it is destined to fail?"

Alister’s golden aura flared brighter, his smile deepening as he looked upward into the boundless expanse above.

"Simple," he said softly.

"To ask for help... from our father."
