(A/N: This Chapter is about the Dire Wolf Alpha battle.)

.

.

Now, the case had gone beyond keeping focus only on the Dire Wolf Alpha, but also having in mind that the others are also a big threat.

"Double work to do," Rena voiced out.

"Yeah. Crazy how we are witnessing this shit," Roman replied with a dark smirk.

"Don’t hunt at night... Do you think the seniors are stupid to have told us that?" Rena gave a soft laugh that had Roman rolling his eyes, refusing to accept that his stubbornness was getting him into this.

"But we are here, facing it together. We might be stubborn, but we aren’t weak," Rena added, giving him a look of hope that he seed to already have.

To her, it almost looked like Roman was not the type of person to motivate. Every action he made was always fueled by his own motivation, driven by his unrelenting motives.

If he wasn’t the kind of guy that could face off with any danger without fear, he wouldn’t have been in the valley on the first night to start with.

The Dire Wolf Alpha seed to have studied the two for a while before seeming to order a couple of Dire Wolves to attack.

This was where the duo decided to unleash their own force, and the chaos began.

SLASH!

SLASH!

Roman would use [Typical Slash] to take down each one that got too close, and it was only a matter of making a diversion and a precise strike that dealt very significant Life damage.

The more he killed, the more he made additions to his progress, and at this point, Roman was already approaching Level 8.

[Level: 8 {11350/13500 EXP}.]

It was a great milestone for soone who had just entered the Badlands in less than forty-eight hours, and even Roman himself was impressed by how far he had gone in such a short period.

The scene was basking with more howls and kills, and at that very mont, it was the two young rookies who were having the upper hand.

The group of Dire Wolves that had charged towards them had all been wiped out, and the Dire Wolf Alpha lost it.

GRRROOOOOWL!

It made a sudden growl that triggered the entire surrounding, and soon, Roman and Rena began to notice so Dire Wolves coming from the trees.

The Dire Wolf Betas.

They didn’t need an explanation to know who these ones were.

Together with the six Betas ca a considerable amount of other Dire Wolf Ogas and Gammas, all asuring to almost the sa number that was surrounding the Dire Wolf Alpha.

Rena and her boyfriend had their jaws drop in an instant, but what could they say to the challenge? They were already in it, and they would have to fight to survive, or they would end up as dead at.

Roman thought wide for a mont, and the only good idea he could co up with at that ti was...

"We’d have to split up. Go after them before they get close so we can separate the scene," Roman said.

"But there are many of them here," Rena said with a slight look of unease, concerned.

"There are many of them there too. Look, this is the only way, or we might get overwheld to the point that we aren’t gonna be able to fight back," Roman warned.

Rena had to agree to what he had said, and she didn’t waste any more monts before she charged at the incoming threats from the distance.

The Dire Wolf Betas were leading the other wolves to join the battle upfront, all hulking and growling, and the Betas howled.

However, everything just suddenly ca to a stop when one of the Dire Wolf Gammas in front got hit by an almost invisible strike and died right on the spot.

And then another. And another.

In a space of five seconds, five Dire Wolves had stopped breathing.

The Dire Wolf Alpha, who was patiently awaiting reinforcent, suddenly noticed what had occurred in the distance, and surely, that was when it was totally fine with the rage bait.

Since the Dire Wolf Betas and their army had so work to do behind, the Dire Wolf Alpha faced its own work.

GRRROOOOOWLLLLLL!

The Dire Wolf Alpha and the rest of the wolves charged at Roman at once, plunging him into the realization that he was at the very center of it all.

[You have successfully switched to the Mage Profession.]

[Anti Balance activated.]

That was the first thing that ca to his mind, and he had successfully managed to push most of the wolves back until sothing unbelievable happened.

Just when the gravity of [Anti Balance] was getting to the Dire Wolf Alpha, the giant wolf made a massive jump that later sent it landing hard on the ground.

BOOOOOM!

The impact at which it landed caused a severe wave of airstorm that one wouldn’t be able to describe, pretty much, and before Roman could know it, he felt himself getting blown away by it.

"Ahh, shit!"

He landed with a force that made him pray not to have broken his back; however, the severe pain was proving him wrong.

He didn’t get much ti to feel his own pain, as the battalion of wolves were already throwing themselves at him just when he had dropped to the ground.

Roman rolled off from the very spot he had landed and tried as much as he could to get the f**k up, even though it hurt like crazy.

But then, he was only escaping from one problem to another.

Roman stood up to notice the Dire Wolf Alpha pretty close to him, and the next thing he saw was its huge arm coming against him like a collapsing tower.

"Holy... crap..."

It was another attempt to make a move to save his own life, and this one was far more important than the forr.

At the point when Roman tried moving, he was already almost getting hit, but thanks to his cleverness... he hadn’t just dodged before he had to, but also because he had figured out the very safe point to drop without getting hit.

Roman had landed on the other side when he suddenly felt a sharp, slight pain on his shoulder, but he couldn’t mind reacting to the pain.

Instead, he channeled it into sothing more useful and important.

Roman watched and noticed that Rena was far and distracted by her own battle, so he figured it was ti to end this once and for all.

He quickly switched back to the Swordsman Profession and activated [Cross Slash].

At once, he charged at the Dire Wolf Alpha, jumped, and delivered one sharp, swift strike. There was a cross slash made by Queenfang, and the forehead of the Dire Wolf Alpha had an X-shaped slice within a second.

Roman didn’t waste ti making more precise strikes, and he made sure to decapitate its head completely, even taking out the arms.

As for the other wolves, they didn’t even make a move before they t their end, and at the end of it all, the lone hunter had the last laugh.
