Yu Hua
Tang Yin was giddy on her way down to the backstage area after Uncle Jian arranged for them to wait there. Running ahead while he followed more calmly after her.
The backstage zone had a few comfortable chairs and was filled with other contestants; Tang Yin watched the fight through the recording screen while vibrating with excitent.
The battle was over briefly. While Yu Hua was clearly behind in terms of spirit power, his almost assassin-like combat style made for a quick victory.
When he walked back into the waiting area through the door, his deanor was still the flawless, arrogantly confident she was used to seeing from him. The Veil concealed his features, but as he saw her, his eyes widened noticeably, and his step quickened as he hurried
towards them.
"Hiii," she said, grinning at him.
"Tang Yin?!" he exclaid. She gave him a thumbs-up and found herself pulled into a tight hug, which she returned with equal enthusiasm.
"The one and only," she declared as he put her down. "Or do you know any other spirit master like ?"
"Yes—your brother," he replied with a grin.
"We're specifying female," she corrected, and he shook his head in amusent.
"Alright, none," he agreed, removing his Veil.
Tang Yin couldn't help but take a sharp breath—Yu Hua was stunningly beautiful.
His features were now almost completely androgynous.
The last ti she had seen him, he'd looked could have been mistaken for a woman, but that was completly gone now.
His features had turned sharper; everything was far more pronounced, and, while still beautiful, he could no longer be mistaken for a woman.
He still had the kind of skin Yin would commit murder for, and his shoulder-length black hair stood in stark contrast to the green in his eyes. His complexion now held a healthier tone—tanner, less pale.
He had also grown considerably since she had last seen him. He was even a touch taller than Ning Feng, aning he towered more than a head over Yin. His fra was lanky, as though he were still growing into it.
"What are you doing here?" Yin asked. "Didn't you go back ho and kick so ass?"
He huffed disdainfully.
"Well, I wasn't good enough for my clan. I found myself dumped into the bottom ranks of spirit masters," he half-growled, flinging his arms into the air with dramatic flair. The posh tone in his voice remained. "Imagine that——thrown together with unambitious fools too lazy to pick up their slack. Each was born with more innate spirit power and a combat spirit to boot, yet weaker than and not even making an effort." Yu Hua shuddered as if the re thought offended him. "Never in my life have I been so deaned."
"I see, so you left," she concluded.
"Indeed, I did alongside Gale and Damian. The two of them are currently building their own business here at Vast Sea City. I am generously donating part of my training inco." he said as if to empathize with how good a person he was. Knowing him, she assud that it was not just a part of his inco but probably his entire one in an attempt to make the start for them easier. "Now, what are you doing here? Vast Sea City wasn't the place we agreed to et up."
"Didn't Damian want to take over his dad's company?" she asked, puzzled, having rembered that had been her friend's original plan. She looked up to Yu Hua, who subtly shook his head, signing that it was a conversation for another ti, and a look at Uncle Jian behind her, also one where there were no strangers. So, she switched topics. "Anyway, I'm here because I'm heading for Haishen Islands—Poseidon Court."
"Oh. You never take the safe path, do you?" he sighed. "But I understand. Now, who is this company of yours? They look rather important."
"Oh, sure." She turned to Uncle Jian. "This is Chen Xin. He's accompanying to Poseidon Court and teaching swordsmanship on the way."
"Chen Xin, as in Seven Treasure Sword Douluo?" Yu Hua sounded puzzled as he sized Chen Xin up. "I can't say I feel greatly honored to et you, but I am thankful for your accompanying Tang Yin." While his words were sharp, he bowed with perfect manners. His entire deanor remained respectful, causing Chen Xin to hum in surprise. Soone whose words couldn't have been ruder, yet whose behavior spoke of respect—that he hadn't expected.
"Yu Hua," she interrupted, knowing full well that Uncle Jian—especially those to whom he owed allegiance—was soone Yu Hua imdiately disliked. After all, anyone or anything that had caused Ning Feng, even the smallest harm, was soone Yu Hua disliked on principle. "Be nice."
"I am not nice," he stated, almost offended. "I have no reason to be. I'm never nice."
"So, Damian and his dad's company? Why are you here? I feel like I missed a lot."
Yu Hua nodded, leading them both outside.
"Well, you did," he said. "But it's a long story—best told over dinner. I don't have ti today, nor do the others. But if you're free tomorrow evening?"
She looked up at Uncle Jian, who gave an almost imperceptible nod.
"Yes, I have, but I need to bring along so company for security purposes, which is also a long story of how that ca to be."
"Perfect for dinner tomorrow then, I'll tell the others and bring them along. Where are you staying, we co pick you up and then show you the best places for food around." He smiled and Yin nodded.
"We are staying at the Blue Lagune, the seven treasures headquarters here at Vast Sea."
"Alright."
The Arena caller was reading off so numbers, and Yu Hue sighed. "Alright, it appears my next battle is soon. I do have to recover; after all, I intend to win beautifully."
"alright, Tomorrow six then?" She asked him and he nodded, before putting his Veil back up and heading to one of the rest spaces for coming battles.
Tang Yin pressed her lips together; a lot must have happened to him and the others. She turned around and left, looking up to Uncle Jian. She would have loved to watch Yu Hua's second battle, but she knew they did not have the ti for that. After all, there was still a visit at the Auction House waiting for them.
Uncle Jian, too, was intrigued. Having t Yu Hua originally, he assud that he was just another young but not-without-talent-spirit master.
At maybe fifteen or sixteen, to be in his mid-twenties in terms of spirit power was nothing compared to a monster like Tang Yin but still not soone without talent. Rather, in most clans, he would be considered slightly above average in terms of talent.
His behavior also spoke of considerable background and refinent. On top of that, being a mber of the Literary Departnt ant he'd received a high level of education and training under the Grandmaster.
Combined with what he'd shown in the arena… the young man was interesting. Very interesting indeed—and not soone to be dismissed.
And he was right also in not being soone sent to the lower echelons of a clan. He keenly wondered where and in what kind of Clan Yu Hua was a mber of.
From the na, he would have assud him to be from Blue Lightning tyrant dragon, but his combat spirit suggested otherwise, and to have two mbers from two of the major three clans in one primary school departnt would have been a trendous coincidence so he did away with that thought.
