Ti passed, and Tang San was cultivating, next to him, silently like a statue. Ning Feng who did the sa, ditating. Both of their bodies were covered in trendous murderous spirit, power in form of white cold mist that influenced them.
He had been here for almost two years. Two years ago, he had sent a letter to Moon Pavilion, to Poseidon and to Shrek in the hope that at least one would reach its destination to tell his sister he would be late to their eting. Two years ago, he had also t Ning Feng again, who had already been inside this godforsaken place for a year.
Each Day, they both noticed they were edging closer to collapse, closer to losing themselves, as their muserous spirit rose rapidly. Having slaughtered and killed for so long. He asked himself more than once how he was still sane, how Ning Feng was still so firm. She had been here an entire year longer than he, her path once again not an easy one, and she had fought with only her weapons, her fists, and her skill; she did not have a fallback plan if her sword broke or her knives ran out.
The number of people who had died at their hands numbered in the thousands by now. The killing is growing stronger and stronger, even though they had the great luck to rely on each other so firmly. Having soone one could trust with such certainty was sothing of untouchable Value in Slaughter Hell.
He believed it might be one of the reasons the killing intent inside him had not taken over, sotis, he felt like casually killing people, as if they were ants, was almost an entertainnt. So when he fought in the Arena, he had to expend more and more energy to contain and control his murderous intent. He was only fortunate that his Mysterious Heaven Skill, which he had also taught to Ning Feng, had a warding effect. He also had his mind condensing the wisdom skill, increasing his ntal control. In contrast, his partner down here had only her indomitable will and fierce principles to help her resist the urge to commit massacre.
But seeing Feng falter was hard, nevertheless.
He opened his eyes, his gaze wandering to Feng's amber one, as a knocking sound ca from the door. Both restraining their killing intent that rose almost instantly, Feng swaying on her feet as she did so, biting down on her lip until it was bloody.
"Who?" Tang San asked in a low voice.
"." A pleasant voice ca from the outside. Neither of them had heard it in a long ti, but still knew who it belonged to.
"Hu L-liena?" Ning Feng mouthed, surprised, her voice a Whisper.
Tang San shrugged, then opened the door, a stream of air rushing into the room. Not knowing her purpose, he asked her inside while he knew Ning Feng had taken up a more strategic position in the room. Hu Lienas face was ashen, almost unhealthily so, as she casually sipped on one of the drinks she was holding.
"I want to ally with you." Hu Liena said and put two cups on the table.
Tang San frowned, and Ning Feng seed confused. Trust was not sothing that ca easily here; it was often considered more of an impossibility.
"Ally?" He asked in a distrustful way. "How co? Why would we?" They wouldn't fight each other, each of the three of them having over fifty victories under their belts; it was a rule of Slaughter City that Feng had told him about.
Hu Lienas' eyes flashed red, a familiar sight now; she was struggling more than ever, as they had suspected.
"I was hoping to ally with you for Hell Road; we all have 99 matches under our belt after all." She said.
"Hell Road?" Tang san had heard about that as well when he had co about, but neither of them had figured out the details of it. At that ti, he had even asked the black masked woman, who rely told him, Hell Road was one of the city's biggest secrets and only Champions were allowed to know about it.
Hu Liena nodded, her gaze wandering to Ning Feng, who was leaning against the wall. "We are on the edge of one hundred cities at the Arena, and our strengths might not be greater than the opponents we face. In fact, with one of you, I am even certain, it is just that we are all lucky to have great compatibility to fight without spirit power, and have the skill to do so. In fact, none of us has turned yet into a true degenerate. If I am not wrong, the two of you are here to train, like I am?"
Tang San was astonished. Hu Liena was credible, and he hadn't heard of any gaps. Even though she was saturated and surrounded by killing intent, she seed to be sincere.
"And how is that related to participating in Hell Road?" He asked.
Coldness flashed through Hu Liena's eyes.
"If you aren't corrupted, after training until now, it should be about ti to finish, and it is only natural for us to leave through Hell Road. There is a secret lying hidden in it, and I am not ashad to admit it. Alone, I will not pass; in fact, none of us will pass without strength alone. It is impossible, but we can do it together. We stand a chance."
"W-why should w-we believe you?" Ning Feng asked her. "W-we two h-have done well s-so far on o-our own. T-Trust here I-is not sothing just given."
"This is Slaughter City after all." Tang San added.
"If I am not wrong, you are from Clear Sky School." She said, feeling uncomfortable with his doubt, even though it was such a common thing in this place. "Both of you. Considering how you are working together. Asura, your Hamr can't be hidden from people's eyes." She stared at him with a firm gaze.
"And?" He asked her.
"My na is Hu Liena, take it as an expression of my sincerity in telling you this. I am from Spirit Hall. My teacher is the current Supre Pontiff."
Tang San felt sothing inside him flinch at that. She was Bibi Dong's disciple; no wonder Tang Hao said she was the one whom he should pay most attention to from the golden generation. His gaze flickered to Ning Feng, tho cleverly concealed her clenched fists and a rather unreadable expression in the shadow of her position.
"Sincerity?" He said. "Your background has no relation to ." He said and saw how Hu Liena flinched at his distance and rejection.
"It is good for all of us. There is no rule that we have to enter Hell Road on our own. If we enter alone, we will die. If we make it. We will be able to co and leave here at our own will and gain great benefits."
Ning Feng walked out of the shadow and leaned forward, whispering into Tang Sans's ear. "W-we should g-give it a-a shot." Her gaze was firm as she stepped back again into the shadow beneath Hu Lien's curious gaze.
"Tell about it." Tang San then said. "About Hell Road."
Hu Liena tilted her head, her gaze jumping back and forth as she observed them, then made her decision. "Hell Roads opening is directly beneath the Arena. Each Day we fight, each person dies, their blood and soul are absorbed by it. I know that if we enter without the safeguard of a formidable killing intent, we will be swallowed by the energy there. There are many theories, the most reliable and believable being that a mighty power left behind a domain long ago, surpassing the hundred rank. To pass through Hell Roads ans one gains the approval of the Deathgod Domain. A domain with the power of death, adding to one's own spirit. It is like an extra spirit ability, and the most valuable domain type ability."
