After breakfast, Sierra Sullivan and Jayce brought Candice Tate to the tenth floor.

While handing Candice Tate over to Yvonne Shelby’s care, Sierra Sullivan also brought a large backpack full of seeds for Charlotte Morgan.

"These are seeds for all sorts of fruits and vegetables. While you practice your Superpower, you can also put so extra food on the table," Sierra Sullivan said with a smile.

Charlotte Morgan hugged the backpack tightly, her eyes filled with not just excitent, but also gratitude.

Before the apocalypse, you could buy any kind of seed you wanted from a seed store.

Even if you didn’t feel like going out to buy them yourself, you could just place an order online and have them in your hands in two or three days.

But now, things were completely different.

Now, every resource was finite; once it was used, it was gone.

And very few people had thought to collect sothing like seeds.

Trying to find them at a farrs’ market now was also an extrely dangerous affair.

For Sierra Sullivan to simply give her so many seeds—how could she not be ecstatic?

Especially since she had previously held such a grudge against Sierra Sullivan, even thinking of scheming against her.

Now, every ti she thought about it, Charlotte Morgan was overco with guilt, and her face would flush uncontrollably.

Seeing the look on Charlotte Morgan’s face, Sierra Sullivan could guess what she was thinking.

"Don’t overthink it." Sierra Sullivan smiled at Charlotte Morgan again. "I told you before, let bygones be bygones. It’s not like we have so deep-seated hatred for each other; it was just a few argunts, and we’ve resolved them. I’ve collected a lot of seeds, and Candice Tate can’t use them all by herself.

I’m not a Wood Ability User, so these seeds are completely wasted on . Better to give them to you so they can create more value."

Since Sierra Sullivan had put it that way, Charlotte Morgan stopped overthinking it.

If she kept being hesitant, it would just seem pretentious.

"Okay!" Charlotte Morgan nodded firmly. "When you get back tonight, you can try the fruits and vegetables I’ve grown with my ability."

"Great! I’ll be looking forward to it!"

They exchanged a smile, the matter between them finally and completely resolved.

Sierra Sullivan squatted down to say a few words to Candice Tate before leaving with Jayce.

Long before they reached the vehicle, Sierra Sullivan spotted a familiar figure.

After a mont of surprise, Sierra Sullivan quickened her pace and walked over.

General Aldridge was leaning against a vehicle, his entire body bundled up tightly, his face hidden behind a mask and goggles.

Seeing Sierra Sullivan and Jayce approach, he greeted them with a smile. "You’re here! Let’s move out!"

His voice, muffled by the mask, rumbled like distant thunder under a blanket.

Sierra Sullivan was curious and asked directly, "General Aldridge, are you... coming with us?"

"What’s wrong?" General Aldridge retorted. "Don’t want coming with you?"

"Of course not." Sierra Sullivan shook her head quickly. "I just wasn’t expecting it."

"After yesterday, the number of Aberrant Beasts has clearly increased, and many more powerful ones have appeared. We can’t split up and act independently like we used to."

As General Aldridge spoke, his voice grew much more grave.

Hearing the general’s words, Sierra Sullivan nodded instinctively. "You’re right! It’s true!"

"All right! Let’s not waste any more ti. Move out! Our destination today is Golden Gardens. It’s a residential community with over twenty thousand people. I have no idea what the situation there is like now."

’Golden Gardens?’

The na didn’t ring a bell for Sierra Sullivan.

But the thought of a community with over twenty thousand residents made her frown instinctively. "If there are that many people, will we have enough room for them in these vehicles?"

General Aldridge chuckled. "Young lady, I thought you were smart. How can you be so naive? How long has it been since the apocalypse began? You really think all twenty thousand of them are sitting at ho, safe and sound, just waiting for us to co pick them up?"

Sierra Sullivan was speechless.

His words sounded a bit cruel.

But she couldn’t deny it was the truth.

’It’s been so long since the apocalypse began.’

’In that community of over twenty thousand, who knew if even half of them were still alive.’

’No!’

’Realistically, forget half. It was doubtful if even a quarter of them survived.’

At this thought, Sierra Sullivan’s heart grew heavy.

But no matter how heavy her heart felt, it was ti to leave, and so they left.

Everyone boarded the vehicles, and the long convoy set off for Golden Gardens in silence. No one spoke along the way.

The journey was far from smooth.

Not long after leaving the base, they were besieged by a flock of mutated birds.

The mutated birds swooped down from the sky, viciously pecking at the vehicle bodies and windows with their hardened wings and sharp beaks.

They clung to the windshields, obscuring the drivers’ vision and forcing the convoy to a halt.

The sight of so many grotesque birds, each with a vicious glint in its eyes, was enough to make one’s skin crawl.

But this was far from the first ti Sierra Sullivan and the others had experienced such a scene; they were long since used to it and handled the situation with relative ease.

Every Superpower User in the team skillfully used their abilities, slaying the mutated birds with their own unique thods.

The bodies of the mutated birds rained down, scattering feathers of every color across the ground.

Once the battle ended, the Space Ability Users imdiately exited the vehicles and collected the bodies of all the mutated birds into their spatial storage.

As soon as these Space Ability Users were back on board, the convoy would set off again.

Having done this countless tis, they worked with a practiced, unspoken understanding, without needing much communication or wasting a single mont.

The convoy pressed onward, and before long, they encountered other Aberrant Beasts.

These Aberrant Beasts seed to have no fear of death, charging relentlessly toward the convoy.

’It’s not that they aren’t afraid of death,’ Sierra Sullivan thought. ’It’s that their craving for human flesh has overwheld their instinct to survive.’

That was why they remained relentless, never retreating, even as their comrades were slaughtered around them.

Eventually, Sierra Sullivan felt as if she had beco a machine for killing Aberrant Beasts.

Every one of her movents was instinctual, requiring no conscious thought.

Her understanding and application of her Superpower also improved greatly, and her ability had quietly grown much stronger.

’Truly, combat is the best way to improve!’

Every ti they got back into the vehicles, they imdiately had to use Crystal Cores to restore their Superpowers.

Even if their ntal energy couldn’t be recovered in such a short ti, their Superpowers absolutely had to be replenished.

Otherwise, forget about saving other survivors; they probably wouldn’t even make it back to the base alive themselves.

After three grueling hours, they finally arrived at Golden Gardens.

General Aldridge gazed at Golden Gardens and let out a long sigh. "Before all this, this trip would have taken half an hour, tops. Now... a half-hour journey took us three full hours."
