Watching Harvey Cheney cry and admit his faults, Sierra Sullivan clicked her tongue and shook her head.
Every ti they had t before, Harvey Cheney had been high and mighty, acting superior to everyone.
He probably never imagined that he would one day fall so low.
General Aldridge spat disdainfully. "What a spineless coward! With guts that small, you still dare to try and shift the bla onto others?"
Jayce crossed his arms, a curious look on his face. "General Aldridge, what do you think would be the best way to deal with this person?"
"Isn’t that simple?" General Aldridge replied instantly without a second thought, offering a solution. "I’ll have my n escort the father and son to apologize, building by building. We’ll confiscate all the food and drink from their ho and give it as compensation to those who deserve it. Isn’t that Hugo Cheney a Wood Ability User? His power might be weak, but it’s better than nothing. From now on, we’ll have soone watch him. He’ll be required to grow one hundred pounds of potatoes or sweet potatoes every day. If he doesn’t, he doesn’t eat or sleep. As for this old geezer, he doesn’t have a Superpower and isn’t of much use. We might as well just kill him to eliminate any future trouble."
The mont General Aldridge finished speaking, a trickling sound was heard.
A liquid was dripping onto the floor.
At the sa ti, the pungent stench of urine began to fill the air.
Sierra Sullivan slled it too.
At first, she couldn’t quite believe it.
But when she looked at Harvey Cheney, she saw that his pants were indeed wet.
Liquid was dripping down his pant leg and onto his shoes, falling to the floor. DRIP, DRIP, DRIP.

Sierra took several steps back.

Jayce was also speechless. "You’re a grown man, and you still get so scared you piss yourself? You’re completely useless!"
Harvey Cheney couldn’t care less what Jayce said about him. His only thought right now was to survive.
"I really know I was wrong! Please give a chance! As long as you spare my life, I’ll do anything! Really! I’ll do anything!"
General Aldridge shoved the man to the ground in disgust. "This piece of trash... killing him would just dirty my hands. Fine, I’ll leave him for you to deal with. Since there’s nothing else here, I’ll be leaving."
Seeing General Aldridge about to leave, Sierra Sullivan quickly called out to him, "Wait!"
"What is it?" General Aldridge looked over, confused. "Is there sothing else?"
"Later, will I still be able to see Dr. Hayes? I have so other things I want to ask him."
"You’re an interesting one, young lady." General Aldridge started to laugh. "You ask politely enough, but if I said no, would you actually not go?"
Even though he’d seen right through her, Sierra Sullivan wasn’t embarrassed. "I would!"
"Honest enough!" General Aldridge gave her a thumbs-up. "I appreciate people like you! Fine, after I get back, I’ll let him know. You can go see him whenever you want!"
"One more question!" Sierra Sullivan added.
General Aldridge wasn’t impatient at all. Instead, his eyes were filled with curiosity. "How do you have so many questions? Fine, ask away! Should I sit down so you can ask properly?"
"That wouldn’t be a bad idea! We can go to Jayce’s house together, and we can even have a al!" Sierra Sullivan said imdiately.
"BWAHAHAHA! You sure know how to seize an opportunity, kid! All right! In the current situation, not many people are willing to invite others for a al. I can’t miss out on the rare occasion soone’s treating !
But let warn you, I have a huge appetite! Don’t you go feeling sorry about it later!"
"Don’t worry!" Sierra Sullivan patted her chest. "I never go back on a promise, and I definitely won’t feel sorry! General Aldridge, eat to your heart’s content! We have other delicious things today, too!"
"Oh?" General Aldridge looked intrigued. "Well, now I’m even more curious."
Kevin Everett walked over with a smile. "All right, you guys head back first. I’ll join you after I’ve sorted things out here."
"Dad, do you want to stay and help?" Jayce asked.
"No need." Kevin Everett refused him outright. "It’s a small matter, I can handle it myself. I don’t need you. You all go on back."
Since Kevin Everett had said so, Jayce didn’t insist.
The three of them left the building and went straight back to Kevin Everett’s residence.
The person who opened the door was Yvonne Shelby.
For a mont, Yvonne Shelby was a little surprised to see General Aldridge.
But it was only for a mont. She quickly composed herself.
A perfect smile appeared on Yvonne Shelby’s face. "General Aldridge, long ti no see."
"Hahahaha," General Aldridge laughed heartily. "Director Shelby! It certainly has been a long ti!"
"You’re too kind, General Aldridge. I’m not a director anymore."
"It’s just a title! Is it really that important? Everyone calls General, but does that actually make a general?"
Hearing this, Yvonne Shelby also began to laugh. "Now that you put it that way, you’re right! Co on in!"
The group entered the house and exchanged a few more pleasantries before Sierra Sullivan took the opportunity to go into a room with Yvonne Shelby.
Candice Tate was in the room practicing her Superpower. The entire room was piled high with potatoes and sweet potatoes.
When she saw Sierra Sullivan co in, Candice Tate ran over excitedly. "Sis, you’re back!"
"I’m back!" Sierra Sullivan said, scooping Candice Tate into her arms. At the sa ti, she turned to Yvonne Shelby and said, "Aunt Shelby, General Aldridge is staying for dinner, and he has a big appetite, so we should prepare a bit more. Do we have enough rice and flour at ho? Should I go upstairs and bring so down?"
"No need!" Yvonne Shelby refused imdiately. "No matter how big his appetite is, he can’t possibly eat hundreds of pounds in one sitting, can he? We have enough rice and flour!"
Sierra Sullivan nodded. "Then I’ll have Candice Tate whip up so fruits and vegetables. I happen to have seeds on ."
Wherever Sierra Sullivan went, she always carried a bag.
The bag’s style was simple, but it could hold a lot of things.
It was convenient for her to pull things out at any ti.
Sierra Sullivan put Candice Tate down and took a packet of mixed seeds from her backpack.
It was sothing she had prepared a long ti ago.
A single packet like this contained a variety of common fruits and vegetables.
Cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, green beans, radishes, bok choy, pumpkins, winter lons...
Before the apocalypse, these vegetables were unremarkable. Anyone could afford them.
But now, they were extrely rare. To serve them to a guest was truly a luxury.
For Candice Tate, growing these vegetables was rely a matter of minutes.
Sierra Sullivan had barely finished speaking when all the seeds had already sprouted.
In no ti, the three of them were surrounded by all sorts of vegetable plants.
Fruits and vegetables each have their own unique, fresh scent.
When grown with a Superpower, the aroma becos even richer.
Even through the closed door, the fragrance wafted out into the living room.
General Aldridge, who was in the middle of a conversation with Jayce, sniffed the air. "What’s that sll?"
