She parted her lips slightly and took a gentle bite of the pastry. It lted in her mouth, the delicate texture and sweet flavor spreading across her taste buds like a spectacular show of fireworks.
"Is it good?" Lucia’s eyes were full of anticipation as he stared intently at Su Yaoyao. It seed as though her every expression could tug at his heartstrings.
"Mhm, it’s delicious." Su Yaoyao nodded lightly, the corners of her mouth turning up unconsciously in a satisfied smile.
That smile, as bright and lovely as a flower blooming in spring, left Lucia completely captivated.
"As long as you like it." Lucia’s voice was as soft as a gentle breeze. He picked up another pastry, took a small bite himself, and then held it to Su Yaoyao’s lips again. A hint of slyness and intimacy colored his eyes. "Have another bite, Yaoyao."
Su Yaoyao hesitated. A war raged within her. On one hand, there was Lucia’s expectant gaze, which seed to hold an irresistible magic. On the other, she was keenly aware that this was practically an indirect kiss, which made her feel shy.
In the end, however, she couldn’t resist Lucia’s temptation and gently took a bite.
In that instant, her cheeks beca scorching hot, and her heart began to race.
’This fox boy is way too good at seducing people,’ she thought to herself. ’How could anyone’s heart not be thrown into turmoil by such an intimate act?’
Seeing Su Yaoyao’s shy expression, Lucia’s heart filled with delight.
He put down the pastry, gently took Su Yaoyao’s hand, and his gaze softened even more. "Yaoyao," he said, "I’m so happy you could co see today."
With that, he leaned in, bringing his face close to Su Yaoyao’s. His warm breath tickled her cheek, making her shiver involuntarily.
Lucia’s gaze locked onto Su Yaoyao’s eyes, as if trying to pull her whole being into his own.
His thumb gently caressed the back of Su Yaoyao’s hand, tracing slow circles as if sketching a precious design. The delicate, tender motion made Su Yaoyao’s heart beat even more erratically.
"Yaoyao, ever since I t you, my world has changed." Lucia’s voice was low and husky, with a barely perceptible tremor. "Did you know? Every ti I see you, I get this indescribable feeling, like you’re the one I’ve been searching for all this ti."
As he spoke, he slowly raised his other hand and gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind Su Yaoyao’s ear. His fingertips brushed her earlobe by chance, and the light touch sent a jolt like an electric current through her entire body.
Su Yaoyao’s cheeks were flushed, her flustered gaze avoiding Lucia’s ardent stare. She bit her lip and whispered, "Lucia, I..."
Just then, a loud crash echoed from outside the door, sounding like shattering porcelain.
Both Lucia and Su Yaoyao froze. They exchanged a look, and Lucia got up and walked toward the door to see what had happened.
Lucia opened the door to find no one there—only an overturned flowerpot, its soil spilled across the ground. He was puzzled. ’Why would the flowerpot just fall over like that? Was the wind too strong? But there’s no wind today.’
Lucia went back inside, looked at Su Yaoyao, and reassured her, "It’s nothing. A small animal was probably passing by and knocked over the flowerpot."
Su Yaoyao breathed a sigh of relief. ’I thought I’d been discovered for sneaking out of the palace and His Majesty had co to drag back.’
Lucia seed to notice Su Yaoyao’s unease, assuming she had been startled by the noise.
He gently put an arm around Su Yaoyao’s shoulders and said, "Don’t worry, Yaoyao. I’m here." His voice was low and steady, carrying a magical, reassuring quality.
Su Yaoyao nodded slightly, trying her best to calm down. Looking at Lucia, a wave of gratitude washed over her. His concern and care made her feel incredibly warm.
"Lucia, thank you," Su Yaoyao said softly, her eyes filled with sincere emotion.
"What’s there to be so formal about with ?" Lucia said with a smile. He gently stroked Su Yaoyao’s hair, his eyes full of adoration.
The two of them sat in silence for a while, and the atmosphere gradually grew warm and tender. As Su Yaoyao’s mood settled, she once again thought of Lucia’s nine tails, and a sense of anticipation resurfaced in her heart.
"Lucia, I... can I touch your tails?" Su Yaoyao asked cautiously, a hint of longing in her eyes.
Hearing this, Lucia’s lips curved into a charming smile. With a slight shake of his body, nine fluffy tails instantly popped out from behind him, swaying gently in the air as if beckoning to Su Yaoyao.
"Of course you can, Yaoyao. You can touch them however you like," Lucia said, a hint of pride and smugness in his eyes.
A flash of delight appeared in Su Yaoyao’s eyes. She slowly reached out a hand, her slender fingers trembling slightly with a mixture of nervousness and anticipation.
But Lucia gently caught her hand. His gaze held a hint of shyness and intimacy as he whispered, "However... I get shy in the living room. Let’s go to my room."
Su Yaoyao’s heart skipped a beat, and her cheeks flushed crimson once more.
She gave a slight nod, letting Lucia lead her by the hand toward his room.
The mont they entered the room, Lucia gently pinned Su Yaoyao against the wall. He leaned forward slightly, enveloping her in his presence.
Lucia guided her hand, slowly bringing it to touch one of his fluffy tails.
The mont her fingertips made contact, Su Yaoyao felt as if she were touching the softest, most delicate thing in the world. The fur on the tail was like the finest silk, impossibly smooth as it slipped through her fingers, yet it also had a fluffy texture, as if every single hair was whispering of its softness and warmth.
Her fingers sank into it as if into a gentle cloud. The sensation made her feel like she had stepped into a dream world, and her heart filled with wonder and bliss.
anwhile, Lucia took Su Yaoyao’s other hand and gently pressed it to his own cheek.
He slowly closed his long, narrow fox-like eyes, an entranced expression on his face. He nuzzled against her hand, from her palm all the way to her fingertips, the motion soft and intimate, as if savoring every bit of her warmth.
Then, he slowly opened those captivating golden eyes. They were like a deep, golden ocean, shimring with a soul-stealing light.
Su Yaoyao was montarily lost, as if she had been put under a spell. Even the hand stroking his tail paused.
Her gaze was completely captured by Lucia’s bewitching eyes. Her heart hamred like a frightened fawn’s, and the mix of nervousness and shyness made her almost forget to breathe.
