Pro issued the warning, but I could already tell without being told. Unlike her usual revealing attire, Milim was now clad in jet-black armor that covered her entire body; horn-like protrusions had grown from her forehead, and obsidian wings had sprouted from her back.
At the sa ti, the sword in Milim's hand radiated an extraordinary, ominous energy.
"...I never thought Milim would actually reveal that form."
Guy broke into a cold sweat at the sight of her. When Milim took this appearance, it ant she had entered her serious combat mode. Furthermore, the demonic sword she held was the one he had given her long ago—the demonic blade that had slain countless majin and demon lords.

In an instant, Milim closed the distance and swung her blade. I barely managed to block the attack with my spear, but the resulting shockwave made the very heavens tremble.

Vertis deployed a massive magical barrier around himself, utilizing his own magicules for protection.
With the shield in place, he pressed the advantage, engaging Milim in a fierce close-quarters lee.
"Hup!"
Vertis thrust his spear toward Milim. Driven by the overwhelming strength of his draconic lineage, a simple thrust beca a lethal, one-hit-kill strike, yet Milim deflected it with ease. He didn't stop, launching a relentless barrage of stabs, but Milim evaded every single one without the slightest difficulty.
Suddenly, Vertis soared into the air and dove straight down at Milim, driving his spear forward with trendous force. The spear slamd into the earth, splitting the ground with a massive fissure and unleashing a violent gale.
Even though she thought she had dodged, a sharp wound, as if cut by a blade, appeared on Milim's left cheek. The wind stirred up by Vertis's powerful strike had turned into a vacuum blade, slicing her face.
"...You really are interesting!"
Milim wiped the blood from her cheek, a grin spreading across her face. She closed in on him, her eyes flashing as lightning began to rain down from the sky.
However, as if she knew exactly where every bolt was coming from, Milim dodged them with blinding speed or neutralized them with a swing of her demonic sword.
Then, she swung her blade at him. The strike was so fast that his wings had no ti to react, and a deep gash was carved into his body.
Could it be... that my previous attack had no effect at all? If that's the case...
"...This is getting boring. Shall we settle this with one blow?"
"Very well. I'll show you my trump card."
Milim spread her wings and let out a roar, while Vertis gathered magicules in his mouth to unleash a massive cannon of lightning.
The two techniques collided head-on.
"[Draconic Impact]!!" "Thunder Force!!"
Milim's attack, ethereal and beautiful like starlight, clashed with the imnse beam of lightning. A blinding flash engulfed their vision, followed by a thunderous explosion that seed to shake the foundations of the world.
As the smoke cleared, it was revealed that Velzard had blocked Milim's attack, and Guy had neutralized mine.
"That's quite enough, don't you think?"
"Why did you interfere?!"
"If those two techniques had actually collided, this entire region would have vanished without a trace—and we might have gone with it."
Judging the situation too dangerous, the two had stepped in to stop our finishing blows.
"So? Was that enough?"
I asked while looking toward Ramiris, but...
"...Huh?"
She had been knocked unconscious by the shockwave from the collision.
"Oh dear. I suppose the current Ramiris couldn't handle that much."
...The current Ramiris? Does that an this isn't her original form?
A little later, once Ramiris regained consciousness, she formally acknowledged as a demon lord.
"Ah, what is this! My hair is even ssier now!... Well, having seen that fight, your strength is certainly not in question."
After being officially recognized, Guy and Ramiris returned to their respective territories, and I decided to remain by Milim's side.
There were several reasons for this, but a major one was Gaia, Milim's pet. Although Milim looked like a child, she was actually far older than Guy or myself; however, her behavior was exactly that of a spoiled child.
Furthermore, I had heard that Milim's parents died on the day she was born. Feeling a sense of sympathy, I decided I would be the one to teach her how to behave.
Fortunately, I had experience raising children, but after spending ti with her, I realized she was more like a rebellious teenage girl who refused to listen.
By playing the role of a parent, I sohow managed to gain her trust and loyalty.
Suddenly, Gaia let out a cry and began to wail.
I looked over to see what was happening, and there stood Milim. She was wearing an outfit quite different from her usual revealing clothes; it seed she could change her attire at will.
"Heh, that outfit is actually cute."
"I am grateful!"
"So, what's the occasion? Why are you dressed like that?"
At my question, Milim's eyes sparkled.
"Ber! Co play with !"
Milim had decided that my na, Vertis, was too long, so she had shortened it to "Ber."
"Did sothing happen?"
"Ah... in three days, there's a festival in a small human village, so we're going to go!"
"Do you like humans?"
"I'm not sure. But I think human culture is very interesting!"
Gaia also let out a happy "kyuu~" sound, clearly eager to visit the human town.
A festival, huh... Co to think of it, when was the last ti I actually enjoyed one?

As I stepped away, I began to wonder.
I told her I'd make sothing, but what can I actually prepare right now?
All I had were so long-aged cheeses and flour I'd scavenged from the kitchen of the Lion King's castle, and so wild plants nearby that looked vaguely like tomatoes.
What could I possibly make with these?
While I was pondering, Pro offered a suggestion.
"How about pizza?"
"Pizza... wait. How do you know what pizza is?"

...Well, I suppose that's fine.
I didn't have sugar or proper seasonings, so I would have to rely on the knowledge of the ancients.
In Italy, the birthplace of pizza, it started as a al for the poor. It wouldn't have been as refined as the modern version, which worked in my favor.
I fetched water from a nearby river, mixed it with the flour to knead the dough, and rolled it thin to create the base. I mashed the tomatoes into a simple sauce and spread it across the dough. Once the makeshift oven I'd built was sufficiently hot, I slid the pizza in and baked it until crisp.
I don't have high-protein flour and there's no salt... but it should be okay, right?
A few minutes later...
It was finished. Though I called it pizza, it had absolutely no toppings.
I brought the finished dish over to Milim.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
"What is this?"
"It's called pizza. It's still a bit hot, so—"
Before I could finish, Milim shoved an entire slice into her mouth.
"...Is it good?"
"Ah, it's delicious! I especially love this sticky part!"
"Kyui! ♪"
"If you want more, I'll make it for you."
"I am grateful!"
A short while later, Milim fell fast asleep after finishing the pizza.
"She's out cold..."
"Kyui."
"Oh, you're still awake?"
"Kyui kyui."
Looking at the peacefully slumbering Milim, it was impossible to believe she was the sa demon lord I had fought.
"Rio... let's pla...y... mm..."
"Whoa!? Is she talking in her sleep? That startled ."
"Munya munya... huh?"
"Oh, you're awake?"
"You shouldn't sleep imdiately after eating... here, drink so water."
"I am grateful!"
As Milim headed back, I spent my ti preparing and waiting for the day of the festival.
