While attending to her duties, Vertis could feel that Milim—soone she considered a close friend—was rapidly approaching Tempest.
She wondered what could have brought Milim to the city. To the rest of the world, she was known as the Destroyer, the Tyrant of Destruction, but Vertis knew the real Milim; she knew the girl wasn't actually that reckless without a reason.
If it had been Guy or any other Demon Lord, Vertis would have moved imdiately. However, Milim possessed the personality of a wild, carefree teenager who simply loved to play. There was no doubt that her reason for visiting Tempest was sothing trivial.
"Right. As long as no one picks a fight first, Milim won't either."
As long as no one picks a fight first...

At the sa ti, Rimuru sensed a being carrying an enormous amount of energy rapidly approaching Tempest. Instinctively realizing that this aura was directed toward him, he hurried outside the city.
"I am the Demon Lord, Milim Nava! You seed like the strongest person in this city, so I ca to say hello!"
With a massive shockwave that caused the ground to explode, the twin-tailed Demon Lord girl made her entrance. Rimuru trembled as he greeted her.
"I-I'm Rimuru. I'm a sli."
Upon hearing the Great Sage's report that the girl before him possessed energy nearly equal to Vertis's, Rimuru shivered in fear.
"Huh? Why are you shaking? You don't have to be so scared! I'm not a scary Demon Lord, so relax!"
Seeing the tearful look on Rimuru's face, Milim hurriedly insisted that she was harmless. Hearing this, Rimuru began to believe that she truly wasn't a bad person. He relaxed slightly and managed a smile, even with tears still clinging to his eyes.
"Then... why are you here?"
As Rimuru tilted his head in curiosity, Milim blushed slightly and stared at him in silence. Thinking he might have said sothing rude, Rimuru asked cautiously, "...Um..."
"N-no!? I-I'm fine! As for why I ca? I had a few reasons, but mostly I just thought it would be fun to say hello!"
Belatedly noticing Rimuru's worried expression, Milim beca unusually flustered as she explained her visit.
"Is that so? Thanks for coming all this way to greet us! Since you're here, let show you around the town!"
Smiling, Rimuru reached for Milim's hand, but suddenly Shion burst from behind him, wielding her massive greatsword.
"Ah, Shion, wait!!"
Before Rimuru could stop her, Shion swung Gorikimaru down at Milim with all her might. The impact sent a cloud of dust billowing into the air. Ranga, erging from Rimuru's shadow, attempted to whisk Rimuru away on his back. Just as Benimaru and Souei prepared to join the fray, Rimuru leaped from Ranga's back and rushed toward Milim at a speed that was unthinkable for his usual self.
"Lord Rimuru! Please get back!"
Benimaru had already unleashed a Hell Flare toward Milim; there was no way to stop the attack now that it had been activated.
"Milim!"
Before the Hell Flare could strike, Rimuru threw his arms around Milim, who had been preparing to shield herself from Shion's attack. Milim was the one most shocked by the gesture.
Holding Milim with one arm, Rimuru used Predator with the other to devour the incoming Hell Flare.
"Why would you do sothing so reckless?!"
"Lord Rimuru, why?!"
Both Milim and Benimaru demanded an explanation, but Rimuru ignored them. He checked the hand that had devoured the spell for any injuries, and upon realizing he was unhard, he let out a sigh of relief and collapsed on the spot.
"What were you thinking?! Why did you jump in front of ?!"
Milim knew that even if the attack had landed, she wouldn't have suffered a single scratch. She questioned his recklessness, and Rimuru answered with a gentle smile.
"But... I thought you might get hurt if I didn't. I didn't want my friend to get hurt."
Thinking he had angered her because of her raised voice, Rimuru looked dejected. This caused Milim to blush deeply, leaving her speechless.
The fact that Rimuru had worried about her made Milim feel a strange, tight sensation in her chest—a feeling that was almost painfully overwhelming.
"I'm just glad you're okay."
Rimuru's smile only made Milim's heart race faster. anwhile, Benimaru and the others, including Ranga, apologized politely for the misunderstanding, though they were simultaneously burning with intense jealousy toward Milim.
"Are you okay?"
Vertis arrived late to assess the situation. Taking one look at the scene, she quickly pieced together what had happened. Milim looked at her and bead.
"Oh, it's you, Ber! Long ti no see. I have sothing I want to ask you."
Milim approached Vertis, her face slightly flushed, and whispered, "Um... I've beco friends with Rimuru. How are friends supposed to act toward each other?"
Vertis montarily doubted her own hearing. It was surprising enough that Milim and Rimuru had beco friends, but it was even more shocking that Milim was seeking her advice.
Since Milim had always handled everything on her own, the fact that she was asking for guidance proved that she had taken a massive liking to Rimuru.
Vertis replied, "You just spend ti together, play, and build a bond. Just act like you normally would."
Hearing that she could just be herself, Milim smiled and suddenly lunged forward, hugging Rimuru tightly.

After returning to the city, Rimuru left Milim in my care so he could attend an ergency eting regarding her arrival.
Well, I was used to looking after Milim.
"Wahahahahaha! What is this?!"
Before I could even finish my thought, Milim was already acting out, with Vertis trailing behind her.
If Milim ran wild even for a mont, this town would be wiped off the map. It was ti to use my trump card.
I pulled my secret weapon from Storage.
"Look, Milim! Cotton candy!!"
I produced a fluffy mass of cotton candy that looked like a pink cloud. Catching the sweet scent of sugar, Milim charged straight toward . After taking a huge bite, she wore an expression of pure ecstasy.
Haa... haa... I finally caught her.
Having finally managed to keep Milim in one place, I panted heavily. Whether she noticed my struggle or not, Milim was completely focused on savoring her treat.
"Milim? If you listen to , I'll give you sothing even sweeter, so please just stay still."
"Deal! Let's go!"
At my words, Milim grabbed my hand and dragged along, as excited as a child at an amusent park. I had no choice but to follow. Neither of us realized that to any outside observer, it looked exactly like a father soothing a stubborn daughter with snacks.
Once the tour of the city was complete, evening fell. At Rimuru's summons, all the residents gathered in the great plaza. Rimuru stepped onto the platform and spoke into the microphone.
"Ahem. Starting today, a new companion will be staying with us. We intend to treat her as a guest, so please be polite and welcoming."
As Rimuru spoke, the residents began whispering, realizing that the girl beside him was indeed the legendary Milim. Rimuru handed the microphone to her and asked her to say a few words. Milim's announcent hit the crowd like a thunderbolt.
"I'm Milim Nava, and I'll be living here from today on! Nice to et you all!!"
Knowing Milim, I expected as much. I gave a wry smile, having predicted this outco, but Rimuru was genuinely shocked.
"Really? You're actually going to live here?"
"Yep! I've decided to live here."
"Won't your parents worry?"
"Parents? It's fine, because my parent is right here!"
Right, I am your parent... wait, who are you calling your parent?
The statent was so natural that I had almost agreed reflexively, but as I snapped back to reality, I realized Milim was pointing directly at .
"Is that not okay?"
Seeing Milim grip my hand tightly, her eyes welling up with tears, I couldn't bring myself to say no. In the end, I could only nod.
Sigh... damn my life.
