The initial 1000 Eris fee was waived by the Adventurer's Guild as a minor expense.

However, Damien paid another 1000 Eris for Ogerpon's appraisal.

"Huh?"

"An appraisal for this little one?"

Luna was puzzled but couldn't refuse since Damien was willing to pay.

She handed two cards to Damien and Ogerpon, then explained the essence of being an adventurer.

"Look here on the card... see the 'Level' section?"

Luna said, "As you both know, everything in this world contains a soul."

"Any being that consus or kills another, ending its life, can absorb a fragnt of that being's soul mory... what we call 'Experience Points.'"

"Normally, these Experience Points aren't visible." Luna continued. "But with this card, the Experience Points an adventurer absorbs are displayed, along with their corresponding level."

"This is the standard for asuring an adventurer's strength, and the number of foes defeated is recorded here too."

"As Experience Points accumulate, beings can experience sudden rapid growth at certain points, known as breaking through a level-up threshold."

In simple terms, leveling up brought benefits like skill points for learning new abilities and boosts to attributes.

"Ogerpon, do you feel anything?"

Damien glanced at his card, noticing its attribute values differed greatly from the Cardinal World's system.

Without a reference, he couldn't make sense of it.

As for Ogerpon…

Her card remained blank, showing no reaction even after she touched it.

"Hm?"

"Is the card broken?"

Luna was baffled, assuming it was a defective card.

But even after swapping it out, the new card stayed blank.

This shouldn't have been possible.

Even summoned creatures or otherworldly visitors should have their soul values detected and displayed due to Konosuba's rules.

Ogerpon's case, however, was beyond Luna's understanding.

"So strange. I've never seen this before."

"What exactly is this child?"

Ogerpon wasn't native to Konosuba... she hailed from the Cardinal World and the Pokémonverse.

To put it simply, she was cloaked in the Cardinal World's laws, which Konosuba's rules couldn't penetrate, treating her as an extension of Damien.

Because of this, if Ogerpon unleashed her full power, Konosuba's world would hold Damien accountable and expel them both.

"Maybe because she's my familiar." Damien offered.

"Even if she's a familiar, the card should still…"

Luna mumbled softly but didn't pry further into Damien's privacy. "May I see your card, sir?"

"Sure, here."

Luna took Damien's card and, sure enough, found a 'Familiar' entry listing Ogerpon.

While Ogerpon wasn't recognized independently, Damien was seen as a native by Konosuba's rules.

Through him, the world easily classified Ogerpon as his familiar.

The 'Familiar: Ogerpon' entry on his card was proof.

"It seems this little one is quite an extraordinary familiar."

Luna didn't dig deeper... prying into others' affairs was improper.

As a guild receptionist, she knew better than to overstep.

"Next, please fill out this form with your height, weight, age, and physical characteristics."

With Luna's help, Damien completed all the required information.

"Alright, that's done."

"Now, please touch this slate to determine your ability paraters."

Luna added, "Then, based on the values, you can choose your desired class."

"It's finally ti."

Damien's two biggest goals in Konosuba were Aqua's cheat ability and its class system.

Though he already had the Learner skill, he still craved a class.

Classes provided attribute boosts.

The Cardinal World gave him Magicule, and Learner let him acquire skills.

But Magicule only affected Existence Value.

It didn't directly tie to physical attributes like strength or speed.

In the Cardinal World, aside from natural armor and skin, Majins relied on passive traits, not a system where higher levels ant greater physical prowess.

For that, Damien had to seek power in other worlds.

His first stop? Konosuba's class system!

"Your strength, vitality, magic, dexterity, and agility are all excellent."

Luna recomnded, "With these attributes, you could go straight for advanced classes."

The C-rank attributes from the Cardinal World translated to elite status in Konosuba.

By advanced classes, Luna ant options like Crusader, Swordmaster, Archpriest, or Archwizard.

Damien didn't choose imdiately, instead carefully questioning Luna about the details of each advanced class.

True to her professionalism, Luna patiently explained the pros, cons, and characteristics of each.

"You're sure about choosing Martial Artist?"

Luna cautioned, "To be blunt, Martial Artist's defense is weaker than Crusader's, and its attack isn't as strong as Swordmaster's."

"Yes."

Damien settled on the Martial Artist class, a physical lee profession.

He chose it because its level-up bonuses aligned with his current needs.

Vitality, strength, agility, dexterity…

Martial Artist's boosts weren't as high as other advanced classes in any single area, but they were balanced.

In Damien's plan, he could use his familliars like Ogerpon to raise his Existence Value, increasing his Magicule.

When activating the skill card earlier, he'd noticed sothing.

Every adventurer starts with accumulated initial Experience Points.

After all, a person reaching adulthood would've gained so experience.

Take Aqua in the original story... she had amassed tons of skill points upon becoming an adventurer.

Why? Her base level was already high.

Similarly, Damien's stored Experience Points totaled over 30,000... roughly ten tis his Existence Value.

Converting Magicule to level up in Konosuba didn't deplete his Magicule.

It remained intact, effectively granting him an extra set of attributes and skills layered atop his Cardinal World stats.

Also, Konosuba's Experience Point system differed from traditional MMORPGs.

According to Luna, reaching Level 100 required about 1 million Experience Points.

While the max level was fixed, differences in starting points, class choices, learned skills, and growth potential ant the gap between Level 100 adventurers could be as vast as the difference between a human and a dog.

Leader boosts Magicule, Magicule converts to Experience Points, which raise Martial Artist levels for attribute gains.

Then, skill points can be spent on the most cost-effective skills.

Skills gained via Learner started at Level 1 and needed skill points to level up.

That's Konosuba's rules.

I wonder what'll happen when I bring these skills back.

But that wasn't Damien's main concern... he didn't choose Learner for Konosuba's skills.

Learner's true value lay in the worlds he'd visit later.

Copying Unique Skills from other worlds and making them his own... that was Learner's real potential.

"Please keep your skill card safe and choose your skills carefully. For quests, check the bulletin board for ones you like."

"Thanks, Miss Luna."

In their short interaction, Damien had already grown familiar with Luna.

He led Ogerpon away from the counter, pulling out his skill card to review the Martial Artist's available skills.

"Before spending points, I'll copy every skill I can."

With that in mind, Damien chose a long table, ordered so food, and, while eating with Ogerpon, used Appraisal to scan the adventurers in the hall.

[Defense], [Steal], [Haste], [Cross Slash], [One-Handed Sword Mastery], [Beginner Magic]…

A variety of skills, mostly low-level, but so advanced ones requiring many skill points were mixed in.

The only downside? This was Konosuba's beginner town, so adventurer levels were generally low.

"Hm?"

Suddenly, Damien noticed a figure in the guild, his gaze locking onto their profile:

[Na: Yunyun]

[Class: Archwizard]

[Skills: Advanced Magic, Interdiate Magic, Teleport, High-Speed Casting, Multi-Casting, Magic Amplification…]

"Advanced Magic?"

Konosuba's magic system wasn't like typical fireballs, healing spells, or wind blades.

It was more akin to Heroes of Might and Magic's Beginner Wisdom, Interdiate Wisdom, and Advanced Wisdom.

[Advanced Magic] required 30 skill points and the Archwizard class.

Once learned, it allowed the Archwizard to freely acquire powerful destructive spells.

Leveling up Advanced Magic increased the potency of those high-level spells.

In short, it was a one-trick pony that dominated.

Mages didn't need dozens of spells... just Advanced Magic and specialized practice in certain powerful spells.

This wasn't a ga world. Casting the sa fireball multiple tis, or choosing when and at what angle, depended on the adventurer.

For Damien, this system was perfect!

No Archwizard class?

No problem!

Learner: I've got this!

Without hesitation, Damien copied every skill Yunyun possessed.

"Oh, if Yunyun's here, where's gumin?"

He hadn't forgotten Konosuba's most powerful spell: Explosion.

Soon, he spotted a certain chuunibyou Crimson Majin little girl.

Learner: Copying… Complete!

Done!

Damien ntally high-fived himself, thinking this trip was a goldmine.

Dozens of classes, over 100 skills.

He even found another Martial Artist in the crowd and copied all their skills, saving himself tons of skill points.

No wonder it's Konosuba's beginner town... talent everywhere!

A new class, Martial Artist, plus a way to convert Magicule into Experience Points for base attribute boosts.

And Learner, the ultimate cheat skill.

"Now, which skills should I level up?"

"With over 30,000 Experience Points, I can hit Level 15."

Martial Artist was an advanced class, granting 15 base skill points plus 2 per level.

Basic classes had no bonus, interdiate classes gave 1 extra point, and advanced classes gave 2.

This created a clear gap between adventurers.

"45 skill points for leveling skills…"

Skills had a level cap, displayed as Lv1, Lv2, up to MAX, where they couldn't be upgraded further.

"With limited points, I need to spend them wisely."

Damien scanned his acquired skills, ignoring non-upgradable passives and focusing on percentage-based buffs.

Like the magic skill [High-Speed Casting].

[High-Speed Casting Lv1]: Reduces casting ti by 10%.

Simple but brutal!

It didn't boost casting speed... it cut ti directly.

A 10-second spell would take 9 seconds with this skill.

At Lv10, it'd be instant!

"This skill's a must."

Similar was [Multi-Casting].

[Multi-Casting Lv1]: Allows casting two spells simultaneously.

At Lv2, it'd allow three.

Seeing this, Damien could already imagine spamming Fireball (Interdiate Magic) with Multi-Casting, unleashing hundreds at once.

"Everything's gone so smoothly so far."

Damien had no plans to get involved in Konosuba's plot... he needed to grow quickly, and this world was too relaxed for that.

It was better suited for resupplying than power-leveling.

You say Konosuba has monsters to fight?

Damien's answer: Not enough!

The monster population here was too sparse.

In this world, eating food that granted high Experience Points was the best way to level up.

Killing monsters was more about solving problems or fulfilling quest contracts.

Even reaching Level 100 only required about 1 million Experience Points.

Converted to Magicule, that was roughly 100,000 or less.

The exact conversion would only be clear after Damien leveled up here and returned to the Cardinal World.
