"AAAAHHH!"

A relentless chorus of screams echoed through the sky. Ariel's explosive speed was so mind-bogglingly fast that she breached a distance of over a thousand ters in just a few blinks of an eye.

Shirazawa felt himself rocketing further and further away from the ground, the whistling gales ripping past his ears and whipping his long, silver hair into a chaotic frenzy.

"Haha! Now *this* is what I call montum!" Ariel's heart pounded with exhilarating fervor as she soared higher into the three-thousand-ter altitude.

"That crazy woman..."

Down on the ground, Dustin—who was busy directing the surface combat operations—and Potimas—who was preparing to launch his own unit into the sky—were both struck with genuine shock. *When on earth did the usually cautious and tight-lipped Ariel beco so completely unhinged? She's practically a different person.*

*BOOM!!*

Accompanied by a deafening kinetic detonation, Ariel planted her foot squarely into a fighter jet, smashing it to pieces while using the recoil to catapult herself even higher into the heavens.

"Tsk~ carrying you two around is really putting a damper on my style." As she tore through oncoming fighter jets, she gradually closed the distance to the massive mothership, grumbling under her breath that Shirazawa and Shiro were acting as dead weight.

"Holy crap, who even asked you to carry us up here in the first place?!"

"We could have made it up here perfectly fine on our own!"

The two spider-girls felt incredibly slighted. *You're clearly the one holding us back, you brat!*

"Oh, is that so? Well then, you're on your own~" Realizing her mistake, Ariel casually let go of them and pounced toward the main battleship all by herself.

Shirazawa and Shiro were left utterly dumbfounded. After a brief, agonizing mont of weightlessness in the stratosphere, the two white silhouettes began plumting back to earth at terminal velocity.

"Ariel, you absolute blockhead!"

The synchronized, furious roar of the duo instantly caught the attention of Hyuvan. Lunging into a sharp dive, he neatly swept underneath them, catching both of them securely on his back.

"You guys alright?"

"Cough, *cough cough*... Yeah, thanks."

The two shook their heads, coughing dryly. For a split second there, they honestly thought they were going to drop dead from hitting the pavent. Fortunately, the usually unreliable Hyuvan didn't drop the ball when it mattered most.

"Aze, what's the move now?"

"What else can we do? We fight."

Shirazawa pulled out a thick, ridiculously long, and massive missile launcher, aiming it directly at the main battleship. This was a super-weapon provided to them by Potimas, specifically engineered to blast open the mothership's main bulkhead. Due to the presence of the , magic was entirely useless against the hull. To deal physical structural damage, they had to rely on heavy firearms. Otherwise, trying to punch through the periter of five thousand escort fighters by hand would take until the end of ti.

To make matters worse, the mothership was continuously deploying reinforcents from its hangars, dragging the aerial theater into a grueling war of attrition. The Wind Dragon army had already suffered heavy casualties against the chanically superior fighter jets, yet they showed absolutely no intention of backing down.

"Hey, you white-haired squirts! Need this great lord to pave a path for you?" Hyuvan carried the two on his back as he began aggressively closing in on the mothership.

"We'll leave it to you then."

"Don't sweat it, consider it done~"

A fierce, blazing fire ignited within Hyuvan's eyes—a manifestation of passion and thrill coexisting in absolute harmony. Terrifying blasts of wind magic continuously tore into the oncoming fighter jets. Although the elental magic itself was suppressed by the anti-magic barriers on the chs' hulls, the kinetic force of air blades compressed to their absolute absolute limit easily shattered the structural integrity of the jets' armor plating, dealing catastrophic physical damage.

"Boys, charge with this great lord! A grand stage like this is going to be our ultimate curtain call!" Hyuvan bellowed in pure, ecstatic excitent.

"ROAR—!!!"

Eight thousand Wind Dragons channeled their gale magic simultaneously, acting as a living vanguard to open a path for the duo. One after another, they hurled themselves recklessly at the mothership without a single shred of fear.

In an instant, flesh tore, tal twisted, and the sky turned into a tragic, bloody at grinder.

"Aze... these guys are acting a bit weird..." Shiro murmured as she watched the dragons throw themselves into the fray. It felt off. Why were they treating their lives as if they were entirely disposable? They didn't possess the skill; if they died here, it was truly ga over.

"Do you rember the Earth Dragon Gakia?" Shirazawa's gaze turned deep and solemn.

"Of course. Didn't he die a heroic death in the lower stratum of the labyrinth trying to halt Ariel?" A flash of pity crossed Shiro's face at the ntion of Gakia. What a magnificent dragon he was—not only did he buy them precious ti, but he even willingly offered up his own corpse to provide the raw materials for their evolution.

"The ancient elders of the Dragon Clan have lived through countless eons; they know the absolute truth behind the world's impending demise. The Wind Dragon Elder, Hyuvan, is no different." Shirazawa sighed softly. "The nuclear fallout generated by the ancient wars left this entire wasteland completely barren and toxic. The divine mission assigned to the Wind Dragons was to purge and purify this land. Over countless millennia, they used their wind magic to systematically sweep the nuclear radiation into outer space. Now, the pollution has been entirely cleared. Their mission is officially complete."

"A dragon who has fulfilled his sacred purpose wants nothing more than to die a glorious death on a battlefield where the very survival of the world hangs in the balance. They choose to burn away the absolute last of their fading embers, returning their souls directly to the System."

"Just like the Earth Dragon Gakia did."

"For them, there is no exit strategy more perfect than this."

By the end of his explanation, Shirazawa's tone carried a heavy tinge of lancholy. This was the inescapable, tragic destiny of the Dragons.

"So that's how it is... No wonder they're fighting like madn." Hearing this, Shiro's expression beca profoundly complex. She had never expected that the goofy, unreliable Hyuvan would possess such magnificent, unyielding pride.

Still... was it really necessary to seek death just for the sake of dying? Wouldn't it be better to stay alive and continue protecting the world? As soone who had clawed, scraped, and fought tooth and nail just to survive every single day, she couldn't fully comprehend the philosophy of these dragons.

*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*

Cataclysmic explosions continuously erupted all around them. The dense cluster of fighter jets shattered and detonated in rapid succession, raining burning debris down from the heavens.

A single dark silhouette was currently tearing across the aerial battlefield at a velocity so extre it left onlookers completely dumbfounded. Using the enemy fighter jets as literal stepping stones, Ariel leaped and vaulted through the fleet, ripping chs apart with her bare hands. The concept of tearing apart fighter jets like tissue paper had officially manifested into reality! Out of the initial five thousand fighter jets, more than half had been single-handedly reduced to a spectacular firework display by Ariel alone.

The awe-inspiring sight of a single individual completely suppressing an entire army was nothing short of breathtaking. As expected of the Demon Lord grandma—her absolute power was an unapproachable mountain.

"I'll clear a path for you guys!"

Ariel was having the ti of her life, yet she didn't forget to provide cover for the two. Shiro ntally complained that they might as well just sit back and let Ariel handle the entire thing herself.

Seeing the opening, Hyuvan unleashed a mighty roar. The massive wings on his back generated a colossal kinetic thrust, pushing his velocity to its absolute limit as he ramd straight toward the mothership.

"Make way, make way! Don't block Lord Hyuvan's path!" The very sa dragon who had looked ready to embrace a tragic martyrdom just a second ago instantly defaulted right back to his usual, goofy self. Clearly, with Ariel drawing all the aggro in the front, he couldn't die even if he tried.

*RUMBLE!!!*

As the group aggressively closed the distance, a terrifyingly massive cannon turret suddenly extended from the underbelly of the mothership. The muzzle began pulsing with a searing, incandescend red light, resembling a primordial beast of fla preparing to swallow everything in existence.

"Watch out!!!" Shirazawa's pupils contracted to a needlepoint.

"Damn it! What the hell is that thing?!" Hyuvan sensed the imminent danger as well. He twisted his massive serpentine body mid-air to evade the trajectory while barking orders for his flock to scatter.

*BOOM—!!!*

A colossal ball of blinding fire blossod in the stratosphere. The violent shockwave tore through the sky, ripping the air to shreds. The Wind Dragon army took a devastating hit, with over half of their remaining numbers wiped out in a single flash. If Shirazawa hadn't scread a warning a second prior, the mothership's main cannon would have entirely annihilated them.

"The destructive yield on that thing is completely insane," Shirazawa muttered under his breath.

Having discharged its payload, the main turret slowly began angling its muzzle downward, locking onto the surface battlefield below. If a direct hit landed down there, the entire ground theater would be instantaneously reduced to nothing but ash!

"Hyuvan, full speed ahead!" Shirazawa urged frantically. They could not allow that main cannon to fire a second shot onto the ground.

Hyuvan went completely all-out, his speed skyrocketing to an unprecedented, terrifying degree.

"Shiro, make sure you catch in a bit!"

"Got it!"

Shirazawa hoisted the long, thick rocket launcher onto his shoulder and leaped straight off Hyuvan's back. They had officially crossed into the threshold of the mothership's ; the passive magic buffing his body instantly fizzled out, and his raw defensive stats plumted straight to the absolute bottom.

"That absolute piece-of-trash old elf!" Shirazawa cursed internally. He lined up the crosshairs of the heavy rocket launcher—which was supposedly capable of obliterating anything in its path—directly with the mothership's glowing cannon muzzle, and slamd his finger onto the trigger.

*FROOOOOOOM—!!!!!*

A massive torrent of fire erupted from the barrel. The air surrounding the trajectory was instantaneously vaporized, generating a massive vacuum pocket in the sky as if a star had collapsed into itself. Under a payload of such purely apocalyptic, destructive scale, any living creature caught in the backlash would be completely pulverized into cosmic dust.

And that included Shirazawa, who had pulled the trigger.

The old elf had never intended to play fair from the start. Handing this literal kamikaze weapon over to the duo was a calculated move to achieve his military objective while conveniently tying up a loose end by wiping out either Shirazawa or Shiro in the process.

"AZE—!!!"

Witnessing the scene, Shiro's eyes widened in sheer horror as she scread at the absolute top of her lungs. In the wake of the cataclysmic explosion, Shirazawa's silhouette was completely swallowed and wiped from existence.
